well that depends on your needs, i have a Macbook Pro 15" with the Core i7, but im going to buy a Macbook Air too, need Macbook Pro for making music etc and i often have to go to other places with it, so that why i didnt buy an iMac, im going to buy a Macbook Air, because when im in school, or travelling i dont need that much power, so if you need a performance laptop buy Macbook Pro, if you need ultra portability buy Macbook Air, or just get both :D

its definitely not overpriced for the average mac users, which has access to a god amount of money, and wants a high quality computer.

One of the main competitors for this computer costs about $50 more, and it has a 1.2 ghz processor.

i traded my 7 week old macbook pro for a 2 year old macbook air and I could not be happier. The newer macs have too many problems, the machines from 2 years ago are a lot better.

No you are wrong. There is no disk port in the macbook air. It may come with an optional external drive, but there is no integrated disk port.

To be honest, while I don't mind the air, why not just get a netbook if you're looking for uber-portability? Even the somewhat higher end netbooks are $400 and contain similar hardware (except for the hard drive that is)

if you're looking for something portable, isn't smallness a little bit more important than thinness?

I'm not sure if you've resolved your issue with finger gestures in Firefox, but I'm pretty sure the latest beta build of Firefox 3 works with gestures on OS X (why Firefox on OS X anyway? I tried it and it ran dog slow and had UI lag - I loved it on Windows)

Finger gestures aren't universal "input", hence why most applications don't do anything when you try some crazy moves; support has to be built-into the app :D

I have the macbook air as well. At 1st I was like what get out of here no 3 finger swipe on firefox, but then I realized the gestures r specifically only 4 safari as well as the zoom pinch. So I can tell u ur laptop is perfectly fine. I'm a male model n I have 2 agree the wifi is amazingly fast. Hope u enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.
