THANKYOU for this video...my 5 year old is havnig two shots today and i was SO SO worried for him, I'm going to show him this video of the young boy ( who is probably ths same age) so he knows that he doesnt need to be scared and that it is quick.
I am sooo glad that you found this to be helpful! My son was indeed 5 when we filmed this. I think that knowing what is going to happen (and a little post shot bribery promise) can really help. Good luck on your little guy's shots today!
i need some more advice i am really really scared i need to get my H1N1 shot before the 24th of october and i am really scared i cry everytime i get them not looking at the needle doesnt help me ! normally a shot goes longer then that 2
Honestly, it really doesn't take that long to get a shot-that really was footage of my son getting his. I don't like getting shots myself as an adult-so I would rather look away so I don't see it coming. Sometimes I'll even squeeze someone elses hand hard while I'm waiting. Then it's over before you know it!
i was really scared back then but now im 14 and i just get it done and over with and i know that it will only hurt for a second my dog has to get 2 shots a day i feel bad for her but she pretty fone with it she does not resist
Super job. I was shocked how "brave" Kenzie was at 3 for her 1st old enough to know I'm getting a shot expereince with the flu shot. We'll see how next year goes! Super tips. Your vlogs are very organized too!
Excellent advice and tips. I hope that you do some more videos about tips with kids, or anything for that matter. Keep up the good work and look forward to more of your vblogs.
great video! i love your blog and am glad to give you a shout out on youtube. thanks for the tips on getting shots for your kids. hopefully these tricks will work on my husband, as he haaaates needles! i'd love to see him scream like buddy does! :D
Thank you for the advice! I flinched when he got the shot. I don't like shots myself but with this advice I can make my child's experience (and even my own) better.
Great video!!! My girls HATE getting shots, but we've learned to bring stickers or sugarless gum. The last time they had to get shots, I have them a piece of gum as soon as they got the shot, and they stopped crying instantly...
I also think not making a big scene about shots is good... Let them relax. If you seem like you're worried about it, they'll feed off of that energy! I hate needles too.. but when I get my shot, i bring the girls in, and really pretend like it's no big deal.. :)

Don't be afraid to use the word 'immunization.' How about getting your own flu shot before the kids to see how easy it is?
Good job, Jen!
