  • How long until she's fully opreational?

  • @EMDX90 most likely another year #1630 is the main focus

  • @TheDeputation im pretty sure that shay # 5 is the main focus due to the fact that 1630 failed her steam test.

  • @Strasburg1991 i've talked to 3 members of irm and all have said #1630 is the main due to the fact that shes so close to beign done regardless of what others think #5 is definatly #2

  • @TheDeputation then 428 is # 3, 101 or 26 is # 4 and either commonwalth edison or 3007 is 5

  • @Strasburg1991 yes #428 is after #5 ive tried to ask about my favorites #26 and #101 but it is unknown which engine is after the 3 main ones, #3007 is not a cantidate, she's much to large for their needs though she does have a good boiler, i assume #101 would be next or #26, and 0-6-0 #5 might be one down the road

  • SO this is the first time i'm hearing of this loco.. what turned out of this? Is she finished yet?

  • Pleasexplain whathey are doing.

  • @robertgift seeing how much pressure the boiler can hold

  • Love that whistle! Can't wait til she's done!

  • 'bout time Steam returned to service at the IRM, when will she move under her own power with a train, timeline please?

  • This test was merely checking to see that the boiler was able to hold the maximum amount of psi required to work, this doesn't mean that 428 will return to service anytime soon. More of the work still needs to be done on the rolling gear, tender, cab, and other appliances of this locomotive.
