you dont have to listen to church people or bible studies to be close with god, in fact, listen to them as minimally as possible.. let god guide you to truth, if you look to others to tell you what to do, youll be the blind following the blind.. hear all the facts, study, debate, collect data.. but always let god show you where truth lies...dont let other people brainwash you
God came to the earth as Jesus Christ to live a sinless life worthy of being able to defeat death and paying our price as a sacrifice for all the sins each and every one of us has committed against a just and holy God. He suffered the punishment/wrath of God for all of the worlds sin while he hung on the cross. Place your trust and faith in him. Believe in him and repent of your sins. Once you are truly saved, you become a new creation.
