The chords and lyrics were made by waters. Gilmour just arranged this one.

Thats an absolute false statement, Dave originally composed and arranged the song in its musical entirity and then Waters came up with the lyrics, which are great. That fact is doccumented in the interviews that appear in VH1's Rock Legends Pink Floyd documentary. The song is much more Gilmours than Waters: he composed, arranged and sang it, while Waters did only the lyrics.

I'll go one better and offer this tidbit - if you read the Miles documentary, Waters mentions that he had orignally written "Wish you were Here" (the words) as a poem, which they later decided to set to Gilmour's music with some changes to the lyric.

Never said it made him the author of the song. "Wish you were Here" is one of those Floyd songs that shows the fantastic things that Gilmour and Waters could come up with together when they each did what they did best (other examples being "Comfortably Numb," "Dogs," etc. . Fortunately we got an entire album's worth of it (DSotM) before the collaborative energies in the band began to get warped by Waters' egomania.

I'd say Meddle, DSotM, WYWH and ANIMALs. I do like the Wall too, but it's too Waters sided. It features some works of genius, but the whole thing is monstruous, very hard to enjoy as a whole, comparatively.
