  • how do u get mbl?

  • nice, check out mine

  • epic!

  • please , tell me whats the name of this effect?

  • What are your render settings? ii have the same camera but it never comes out fully hd.

  • where is this??

  • the number of views is how wide my pussy is!

  • this looks very professional!

  • Wow, This looks great. I have a similar camera and this is really inspiring.

  • I also have this camera and this software. Can you tell me what you did on Vegas to achieve this color? This vintage look? I have been trying and I can't get it to look right. Yours is perfect. Any tips would be appreciated thanks.

  • why 24p?

  • daum that looks good!

  • it's great, you should make a tutorial

  • great job. what software do you use for the colour correction?

  • the first bit looks like the movie 300 :P

  • Hei man your video are so beautiful.I have the same camera and sony vegas , can you tell me your settings for the rendering.I use SONY AVC or WMV.But when I use WMV the video on youtube isn t fluid.Instead your videos are so fluid.Did you choose a particular options?thanks.

  • this look like you did a hifh pass or bleach effect

  • how do u render it to hd in sony vegas

  • sick

  • Cool video.. what shutter speed did you use?

  • nice!

  • please respond: will this work in imovie 09 / final cut express 4?

  • Can you by any chance tell me what settings you are using to save the video after rendering?

Are you transferring the footage from the camera using a HDMI cable or via the SD card?

  • @RcBros

Best way I've found is to transfer from SD and convert to cineform HD for editing. That or store .mts files, convert to lower res (720p max), edit, move files, open vegas and auto replace with the original .mts files when prompted to "find missing files", then final render. This lets you work in flawless speed but get a quality final render without converting an additional time

  • Thank you for your reply, I've had some serious issues getting the .mts files to work. What are you using to convert?

  • @RcBros Cineform Neoscene is awesome if you want to edit in HD. Vegas is sufficient if you are ok with the "replace missing files" method. I recommend using Neoscene, as it is nearly lossless (visually lossless)

  • well it does not look like pro. this is the quality of 60i or 50i but not 24p or 30p. if it was sony vegas editor you need to check properties of the project and rendring properties for the quality. regards.

  • wow...that looks like a professionell captured movie..send it to Hollywood!! ;)

  • bollywood may be a better option

  • That looks wicked that is exactly the look i am trying to get! i have just purchchased sony vegas 9 and have a legria 200, can you tell me how you got the look? thanks

  • @tobiasjon27 If had to guess at his settings, I'd say:

    24p Cinema Mode

    Lots of zooms for DOF

    Steadycam of some sort (DIY?)

    Tripod

sunset graduated filter settings/color correction with Magic Bullet Looks

Mercalli for steadying a couple shots (river pan? I see artifacts)

Even the handheld stuff looks stabilized somehow

OK, well I see now in keywords I'm at least right about some of the stuff...

    Render to HDwmv or Cineform?

  • Woah very nice ! I am thinking about buying this cam too

  • @itsPudgeRUN

BUY IT its amazing... I've had it since christmas and its sick.

  • Im looking for a new camcorder. I have the Panasonic HDC SD9, but im looking for something thats better at filming night scenes and close up/manual focusing.

  • Comment removed

  • its wheat :P close up Wheat Porn???! LOL

  • Theres always one lol

  • Una calidad excelente y un Auto Focus impresionante!

  • Fantastic! You restored my faith in this camera. Can you tell me at what settings you shot this?

  • Hey, sry for the late reply everyone, so many questions lol. All you need to know is Cinema mode and 60i. Thats about it :) Cheers everyone

  • Yeah, that works pretty good. My computer is brand new and shouldn`t have any problems with this. It`s just in the beginning of every clip it lags a little, annoying as hell though.

  • did you use 24p?

  • 60i my friend

  • nice but it could use some more contrast;) it looks a bit washed.. but it`s still amazing;)

  • cheers, it was my first one hehe, check ym other vids out tho :)

  • I struggle so much with vegas 9. I got the very same camera as you, but when I put my footage in vegas it won`t preview them smoothly, thus making it impossible to edit anything. What property settings in vegas and what camera settings do you shoot with?

  • SHIT DUDE THAT LOOKS AMAZING!

  • CHEERS MATEY :D :D :D

  • this has helped me thank u....

  • No worries my man :)

  • Really well done, I enjoyed watching this video.

  • Thank you very much indeed

  • What exactly do you mean when you say "Color Correct W/ S.V??" I have Sony Vegas But I havent used it yet, is this just something automatic that you press and the color automatically goes from the standard camcorder look to this semi Hollywood movie look you got going on? Help me out a lil as I just ordered this camera and I am trying to explore the different possibilities...Thanks man!

  • hehe no its not one click of the button mate. I use SV to edit my clips and I use magic bullet looks to make that movie kinda of effect. Its best if you google magic bullet looks and youtube it and stuff coz I would right a whole essay on it lol Cheers mate

  • No its nothing automatic, Its all done in sony vegas "SV" but shifting the highs mediems and lows light wise to what ever colour you want, Hard to explain but its best to do a tad bit of research :)

  • not bad man.

  • I just got an HF200, but when I upload my videos they dont look nearly as good on YouTube as the real video. How did you upload your videos? Did you convert the files to a different format before yo uploaded them? What size and resolution did you use? Thanks for your help.

  • Hey chap, well basically I copy the files direct from my sd card to my computer and just click and drag them into the time line for sony vegas. did all the editing and stuff and rendered (saved) the main movie file as WMV 6mpbs HD vid.

    I hope this helps

  • Hi Dude, awesome video to begin with!

I've got my HF200 today and trying some stuff. Once iv'e copied the video files from me SD card to hard drive, I try to drag them into my Sony Vegas time line. But Vegas says it cant drop the video on the time line because it doesn't recognize .mts formats. I have Vegas 8.0. Any ideas maybe what i'm doing wrong?

  • Sony Vegas 9.0

  • Cheers dude, going to try to upgrade then :)

  • This info helps tremendously.

    Than you.

  • Im happy to help you no worries :)

  • i just bought this camera but i`ve been havin problems with the import and editing... what do you recommend? and also is ther e any way to have a manual focus on it? Thanx!!!

  • How is the picture quality and how much did you get it for? I want one too..

  • I still think this camera have better video quality than most dvd you can buy. Again, great video. CHEER!

  • Oh.; another, thing. How is this camera in the dark?

  • The camera is'nt the best in the dark, its probably best if you check some other youtube vids with the hf200 in the dark see what you think. Cheers

  • Awesome video, bro.! Love it....

  • Cheers for the comment, thank you very much :)

  • THIS IS GREAT!

i have the canon hf200 aswell but been experiencing some troubles.

the color of the footage on the computer is darker and lacking contrast. it hardly looks like what it shows on the camcorder's lcd screen (where the image is much more vivid) the only way i can get it to look like its suppose to is with MBL (which rocks..) have you experienced this same issue?

and also if you can share on what frame rate you shoot, and in what format do u render the clip from vegas..

    thanks!

  • I want to be in this movie. this is awesome.

  • Yeah, I know magic bullet, but never tried it myself...

Anyways, thanks for the feedback :)

  • no worries mate, well try MBL give it a shot, its worth it :)

  • Are you using the easy-button? It does have on you know :)

Maybe I have just fooled around too much with the settings, without really knowing what they do, and now I really have the worst settings :D haha..

Right now I'm just fooling around in sony vegas, and that really helps alot... But you could be right about the camera not getting enough light in maybe..

I can't belive your just filming out of the box, it IS really some camera ha? :)

I don't know what MBL is, sorry.

  • maybe, reset it all lol. I havent hardly touched anything. Magic bullet looks, google it and youtube it and you will see what it can do to make your video become more professional :D

  • Om my footage it just looks like the camera compresses the film it looks kind of washed out.

  • awesome footage of those butterflies :) You are using manuel focus then right. are you on cinema mode when you record? The sharpness filter in vegas or whatever shouldn't be what makes it sharp, the camera should be aple to do some sharp recordings, but I do agree that it should be on as support... But how do I get the sharpes video from the camera? I have a hard time beliving that you just took it out of the box and started filming :)

Maybe it's because all my tests are indoor?

  • cheers for that :) Nope im using automatic focus. I dont know how to use manual focus yet. To be honest mate im a complete newbie haha. I can tell you that I shot it in 60i and all settings are default. I have'nt changed anything promise lol. I basically filmed out of the box. It might be because your camera if not letting enough light in. I dont know. Do you have MBL?

  • Wow.. That is amazing what you have gotten out of that Canon HF200 camera. I have just bought a Canon hg21 myself, and is really having troble with what settings to use when shooting.. Sport/portrait/video/claudy/shutter speeds and so on. How do you get such sharp footage from that camera? what's the magic setting? :)

  • hehe, Well I dont think its really a magic setting, I just use the settings as I got it out the box. The only thing I can say is that I used Magic bullet looks to edit scenes to give that colour grading look. If you check my other vid with the Butterflies I put a sharpness mask in the editing to sharpen it up even more but only subtly. Cheers for your comment :)

  • could be out of a very good documantry film.

or the start out of a professional film.

    =D Very good.

  • Cheers matey :)

  • professional quality! too bad sony vagas can't work with mac

  • Sony Vegas is good, but its worth checking out "Magic Bullet Looks"

Its a plugin which can be used on any vegas adobe premier and others, Thanks for your comment :D
