This is sad. Whales are animals just like humans and they deserve rights. The fact that the whale chose to attack the trainer in front of a live audience shows the intelligence. I am not against having whales kept for shows, but there should be regulations and whale rights, just as there are human rights. They should not be exploited. They should be allowed freedom.
It's very sad that she died, but all I saw in this video was a wild animal behaving as such. This song was perfect. She was sick to death of being forced to perform like some wind up toy. This whale has supposible been in captivity for a long time and yet it's back fin isn't flipped over and that always happen within a year of captivity. Whales are smart and putting them in a confined tank will make them stressed and mad, just like the whale above. Wild animals are much friendlier. They understand, but animals in captivity don't know what to think and just want to be free.
All these shows with wild-animals in captivity is just cruel and it doesn't matter if the trainers cared good for them or not. These animals belong to the wild and NOT in such small pools, where all these stupid people can laugh and clap at them!!!
They should never have been allowed to exploit animals in this fashion. It's sad that it's taken the death of several trainers to make people start to realise this, and yet they still don't ban them.

Let's look at the facts. They're (whales) are endagered. We (humans) are not. To be completely honest, unless I personally know and love the person, i'd much rather see a human killed than an animal, especially a whale. We know what we're getting ourselves into, we deserve whatever shit we get ourselves into. When it comes to whales vs. helpless sea world trainer, i'll be cheering the whale on every time. It's about time something put us in our place :D

@marcus24000 Actually, the name "Killer Whale" is entirely the right name. They're the most violent animals in the sea, even more so than the great white shark. Killer whales eat just about everything, including other whales. They've got a vicious mean streak, but they're intelligent so they know how and when to use this mean streak and when not to.
Ofcourse they deserve freedom, i'm not doubting that. All i'm saying is that they're one nasty-ass mother fucking species ;P

This is sad. Whales are animals just like humans and they deserve rights. The fact that the whale chose to attack the trainer in front of a live audience shows the intelligence. I am not against having whales kept for shows, but there should be regulations and whale rights, just as there are human rights. They should not be exploited. They should be allowed freedom.

It's very sad that she died, but all I saw in this video was a wild animal behaving as such. This song was perfect. She was sick to death of being forced to perform like some wind up toy. Orcas are smart animals and I'm sure the stress eventually just made her snap. I feel more sorry for the Orca. People choose to keep these poor creatures in captivity. Lolita didn't ask to be kept as a prisoner. She just wants to live her life and do what is natural to her.

I actually don't feel much sympathy for this man. I could understand if he was in the Ocean and was attacked. But these people know the risks. Any wild animal, be it a killer whale, tigers, bears or anything else, are wild. They are designed to kill and to hunt and if you're stupid enough to work with them then carry on, the chances are they will turn on you after years of being trapped in tiny pens.

This whale has supposible been in captivity for a long time and yet it's back fin isn't flipped over and that always happen within a year of captivity. Plus this whale is suspected of killing 2 other people. Why would they keep him? I'd put him back in the wild b/c maybe that's where he needs to be b/c he's gotten to big.

Whales are smart and putting them in a confined tank will make them stressed and mad, just like the whale above. Wild animals are much friendlier. They understand, but animals in captivity don't know what to think and just want to be free.

They should never have been allowed to exploit animals in this fashion. It's sad that it's taken the death of several trainers to make people start to realise this, and yet they still don't ban them.
How many more people have to die before it will be realised these animals are not pets? They do not get tamed. They are wild animals, and should be free to roam, AWAY from humans.

There should be laws about the exploitation of animals...Not many animals can get revenge like a killer whale or elephant but we should look at how we treat all animals, large and small alike :( We should know better but we do anything for money.
