  • @Saballwalum: I think you have a problem with your computer. Check your javascript and shockwave. Either that or you've don't have enough ram. When videos don't play, it's usually your computer and not the video itself, since everyone else is watching it just fine. Sorry ):

  • This one is so goooood.

  • I was listening to music ALL NIGHT, now that I'm on Smokey....Close up shop, nuthin' else to listen to!!!!

  • one of my all time favourites, it's because of songs like this that i bacame a hopeless romantic...

  • Smokey Robinson is a true legend when it comes to music as good as this.

  • loving this jam!!! its special to me because this one of the first songs i remember hearing as a child. smokey is a master songwriter and singer. a true legend

  • LUV THIS ONE :) DATZ DAT OLE SKOO SHIT !

  • it says in big bold and black letters- comment on this video- nowhere did it say post your beliefs or your veiws on your beliefs!! great singer and this song sure brings back memories. I dont think he ever sang a bad song!!!!

  • calm down Barbiegirl. I am just asking a question. It's a free country to read what you want and post what you want.

It's about tolerance. No matter which side you're on.

  • but it also didnt say you couldnt post ur beliefs

  • soo sexy and smooth, i love it

  • i kinda remember seeing this when it first came out. i forget where because i was so young. but i remember it. i remember thinking that he was a ghost singing and watching the 2 people live their lives. like he had the girl and then died and then the other guy got the girl. thats what i thought . thats what i rmemeber thinking.

but i am sooo gonna dance with him in Heaven when the time comes. of course, im gonna hafta wait in a lonngggg line in Heaven. he is a God. agree?

  • He is just great, what a voice, and music.

  • Smokey has always been my most favorite singer songwriter of all time. His melody's are so beautiful,I think he must be a magnet for catching so many heartfelt songs. When Smokey sings he takes you on a journey with each word he sings...Awesome!!!

  • ME TOOOOOO BUT BY A WOMANS FEW

  • Keep the BIBLE thoughts to yourself and just enjoy the song. If thats what you believe....FINE. But a lot of people accept others and dont care what they do privately. So HAPPY I broke away from that NARROW way of thinking.......

  • He is still BAD!

  • in 1987 i was working in a restaurant and constantly heard this song as I cleaned tables

AND LOVED IT i found it relaxing,..

  • Smokey is still the man after all these years.

  • This is such totally FAB 80's music. Loved Smokey at MJ's memorial service.

  • I love this man! I've been listening to his music since I was a little girl. Will see him on the 7th of August in CA.! I can't wait! Saw him once in Tahoe on Valentines Day! Awesome!

  • Fantastic song and video from the great Robinson.

The song peak at # 10 on the Billboard Charts in 1987.

    Great memories !!!!!!!!

  • love it!!!!

  • but Dad, its SMOKEY!!! :)

  • seen him at atlantic city 2004 had a ball!

  • saw him the third of july, he was AMAZING!!

  • Sing it, Smokey.

  • this is good stuff

  • amazing performer. See him live,he's still great!

  • he's amazing

  • I am a fan of Smokey Robinson but what is up with the chair in this video!! He really doesn't need it, it does nothing for him in this video!!

  • Great Song - and I love the instruments in the song. I always wondered why I loved the sax and smooth jazz in recent years. It must have been songs like this and others that featured the sax. :)

  • What's with the "I'm sorry that you think it's good"? If you don't like smooth jazz, that's fine. You're entitled to your opinion. But don't make comments on what other people like. It's really none of your business what I listen to.

  • Fine and Dandy, but did I say that you couldn't say you don't like Smooth Jazz? Nope, all I said was don't make it personal. As it is, this is the wrong location to discuss Smooth Jazz.

  • so if this song is an "atrocity" saxyman then why did you click on it and listen to it, obviously?

  • Thanks for so many great songs, Smokey. Love this one, "Tears of a Clown," and "You Really Got a Hold on Me."

  • Love the song, but it keeps reminding me of "Soul Glo" :)

  • Damn, where did all the years go? I was 38 when this song hit. I loved it then and more so today. Thanks for the memories Smokey.

  • I hear that. Cant believe it was over 20 years ago.

  • watch the hogan family episode "boy loses girl". this songs in it and its hella powerful.

  • eeeyao! its smokey in here~ ... lol

  • I picked up my then-new girlfriend from the trainstation last year and had this song playing in my car as I drove her home. She looked at me and said "Are you trying to get me in the mood?" The unspoken answer was of course, Yes, and I'll have to say it worked. Still with her today.

  • Your the best smokey!!!!

  • great classic from smokey

  • nice song to go to sleep on.

  • Comment removed

  • Remember Buddy? If you're up there listening.....this one's for you!

  • Happy Birthday Smokey Robinson (2/19)!!!

  • my song!

  • this is now a life song in mylife just one heart beat and one day at a tyme liste to the man he is a master of love first heard it on a motown collection 15 yrs ago. been hooked and this is an audio rarieti so you find it keep it

  • Uhhh, wanted to ,,thumb it up", not ,,down". Sorry. ;-)

  • Great song ! just like anything this man did!

  • This man looks so hot in this video..

  • He is hot!!! And the man can sing!

  • The Man's Gift to Music goes without saying, the voice is unique, his vocal expressions are truly romantic, and soulful. He has inspired so many Artist, Black or White. This particular song was his "comeback" song, and to me, it is one of his Best! I'll never forget the face of the Woman who I was seeing during this period when this song debut, this song is Her!

  • Smokey said that his album One Heartbeat was one of his favorites and one of his best works. I was in 10th grade when this came out and this was when I began to get into Motown, so I treated myself to this tape as an early Christmas/Birthday gift to myself. The song is still beautiful courtesy of the lyrics, Smokey's vocals and Kenny G;s saxohpone performance.

  • xylophone solo T T M N

  • checkout brian ray who co wrote this. he is now paul mccartneys bass/guitarist on live tours (the blonde one!) : )

  • Heart to Heart...True Love is Real Love...Melts my heart...Love this song and you r video too Smokey...

  • I love it

  • Ahh 1987- the year Big Daddy Kane made his debut...

  • people think im weird bc im 14 and i listen to motown music n classical stuff but songs like this are truly amazingg u cant get this in my generation

  • listen to what pleases you, music can take you to all kinds of places...dont let your friends say your uncool listening to what you like. what do they know

  • Thank you. I got into Motown when this song came out and been hooked eversince. I had kids my age thinking i was weird because I wasn;t into rap at that time and adults who didn't like me doing presentations on Black entertainers, but there were some many who appreciated my love for Motown and supported my decisions to do presentations on who inspried me.

  • There's nothing wrong with you listening to this music. If it wasn't for Motown and do wop, many of today's artists wouldn't have music to sample from. I was 16 when this song came out and there was people who felt I should have been listening to rap, but there was other who loved the fact that I loved Motown music. Listen to what you want and if they don't like it, cut them loose because you will find others your age who loves the same music you do.

  • I'm a huge Rap Fan. One of the biggest Tupac Shakur Fans of all time. The Miracles, "The Tracks of My Tears" is my favorite all time song.. HANDS DOWN. Smokey Robinson is still "America's Greatest Living Poet". Someone who is true to themself enjoy all types of music. It's true, it's a rarity that you find decent music these days. Something like this is NOT created anymore. That is the real tragedy.

  • Thanks for the reply and the insight. It's cool to see people who appreciates all types of music. You got good taste and Tupac is a legend along with The Miracles. One Love.

  • u r so true homie wisdom

  • sad but true...I'm a teacher and I always tell my students how sorry I feel for them growing up with such poor music...I bust the 80's and 90's tunes whenever I can...

  • It's all subjective, jordiekjo. People who grew up listening to music in the 60s and 70s were saying the same things about 80s and 90s music.

  • Supposedly you shouldn't fall in love with a coworker but in 1987 while watching this video, I fell in love with with her...

Ah... the 80's. Great musical decade!

  • The blond bass guitarist Brian Ray, who performs with Sir Paul McCartney on tour, co wrote this song with Smokey Robinson.

  • i used to loved this song and still do. reminds me of good days.

  • Beautiful song, they just do not make music this sweet anymore.

  • Ah 87- what a time. I was young but remember renting this tape from the library and listening it constantly.

  • I allways love this beautiful song since i was17 years old and i was 17 when it came out in 1987. The song reminds me of the beautiful autumn in October, November and the beautiful foliage.

  • soul legend

  • One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. One day, I might be able to play the saxophone like that...

  • is this on his greatest hits?

  • yes

  • Best part of the song=2:25-2:45

    Slow motion baby!

  • I still think this is a very pretty song. I turned 8 years old in '87, and for Christmas that year my parents got me my first radio/cassette player and the "One Heartbeat" album on cassette that contains this song. We never had cable when I grew up, so it's neat to see videos like this for the first time.

  • I wish you well, but "gay" and "christian" are incompatible.

  • I'm sorry, but you really do not have the right to tell me what I am or am not. You do not know me. My life is between me and the Lord. I can only pray that people will stop making oppressive remarks like that toward gay people of faith. The reason I posted a comment here was because this song represents a good memory for me.

  • his right i can't judge......but i do know the bible and it says homosexuality is a abomination..don't believe me read the bible..

  • Who are you referring to as being homosexual? Smokey has been married twice. He's not gay. Besides, that, while I respect your opinion, let's keep in mind that one has to believe that the Bible is the word of God. It's like believing any book written by a bunch of people is other than what it is. Just because one chapter talks about homosexuality does not make it true. You have to believe it to be true.

  • im talikng about sum1 who commented on this page not smokey...and this person said they where believe in christ...so if you do im sorry you can't half step

  • sleepyboy99, so is judging others & Christianity. But what ever, lets all atleast agree to disagree & leave each other in peace.

  • People who hate gays are all gay themselves. Ask Larry Craig or Ted Haggard.

  • What in the hell does your opinion have to do with Smokey...Idiot

  • yes

  • I'm a teacher and I listen to Smokey when I'm on break every day...he's so relaxing and his music helps me make it through the day :)

  • My favorite place on planet Earth is the seashore. Love the nautical theme. Great!!

  • Great song. Great video too. One of Smokey's best.

  • Omg thats hilarious.

  • its my fav

  • If u break up with you lady, play this one. Smokey is the best love ballad singer of ALL TIMES!!!!!!!

  • this is the song my parents hurd on there frist date! :D and i love this song =3 it's great

  • I LOVE THIS SONG IT IS ONE OF HE'S BEST

  • alellulah!!! a good song

  • SMOOOTH!!! This song is SO addictive and SORELY needed on radio these days. Top 10 Pop, R&B, and Adult Contemporary hit for Smokey in 1988.

  • one year off...

  • now thats talent unlike that hip-hop bullshit!!wonder how many young blacks know who he is.

  • Probably not many sadly. These songs are immortal. This new crap will still be crap years from now.

  • You are exactly right.Songs like these are too immortal and have great meaning that we can relate too.I love this song.Nothing but a masterpiece by the great Smokey Robinson.

  • where's smokey's afro?

  • he had it in the 60's & 70's, this video was in 87

  • so what? the decade defines what your hairstyle/fashion should be?

When 1980 started wass it decided suddenly that people must not wear bellbottoms anymore?

  • Just as a point of interest it was actually Kenny G who played the sax track on a soprano sax...his recording debue

  • Hey beat me to asking the question!:) Thanks for that.

  • i am in love with smokey

  • Fantastic song. Haven't heard one like this in a long time...

  • Amazing tune.. Smokey is amazing.. Love it. : )

  • I haven't seen this video since it came out. LOL I was in junior high then.

  • i love this song .....one heartbeat at a time

  • Ah Smokey ... definitely my favorite song of his. Smooth and soulful with great accompaniment!

  • Once I was at Smokey's and after a couple of beers I went looking for the bathroom. I found his bedroom instead and his bed was unmade with gold satin sheets and mirrors on the ceiling. I got 3 feet from the bed

and walked out. What would you have done people? I have to say Smokey Robinson is the real deal. He was ALWAYS so kind to me. Keep On!!!

  • Smokey could sang the drawz off a giraffe.

    YOWZAAAAAAAAA!

  • love the song, love the video, love the fabulous backup singers that appear a few times.
