  • i love that she did this. i saw this and said NUH UH. out loud. real loud.

  • She is fit.

  • Laura marling singing a Noah and the whale song... bloody brilliant... cmon guys forget all the whys and wherefores... this is just amazing amazing music

  • @ANNOYINGGAMEGUY yeahh she actually used to be in Noah and the Whale..

  • @stylishsid i know. people are just arguing and its annoying

  • oooh, i just fancy laura marling ...

  • What video is that one at the start? When she's wearing her reproduced t- shirt

  • @DISASTARCAKE123 the mystery jets young love

  • damn. this is good. she was with the band during the release of this first album, yeah? is that where she got her start?

  • @basketcase5295

she got her start through her record producer Father, and tagging along with Mumford and Sons (you know that band who were bizarrely popular from inception... the ones with the millionaire politician Daddies... what a coincidence)...

serious money = serious exposure. she's had one of the easiest rides on the planet.

  • @TheSafecore but at least she is talented and makes decent music not like most chart music where they have had it easy AND make shit music

  • @eleanorniamhfletcher having it easy seemingly breeds mediocrity - whether faux-folk or not... I wonder how popular her songs would be if they came from a haggard middle-aged woman... as opposed to a pretty blonde teenybopper who's insanely well-connected. the mass-reverry for her supposed brilliance quite simply baffles me. and speaking of chart music - she's undeniably 'one of them'!

  • @TheSafecore i kind of agree but i rally dont think shes can be put in the same league as some people in the charts as she clearly has way more music ability even if you dont think shes talented

  • @TheSafecore ugh. I love her music because it's beautiful, not because she's connected or whatever other spiteful reason you come up with. Nobody's asking you to like it, please return to the godawful musical niche you sprang from.

  • @TheSafecore theres thousands of talented artists who dont get exposure, the music biz is fickle deal with it, denying this woman has talent even if its not your type of thing is just juvenile, you need to broaden your horizons a bit pal, instead of closing your brain to anything that aint" street"

  • @curryjunkie i just wanted to cite how sickening it is when you can make a killing from, what is in my opinion, pretty mediocre music just because you're a pretty young girl with a connected daddy and you play up to the cutesy lost soul image... which we ought to know is pure bullshit - cos she's had everything on a plate. is all. i don't like most of her songs because i don't think they're very well written - hence "the mass-reverry for her supposed brilliance quite simply baffles me", pal.

  • @TheSafecore You really are talking such crap.Your making ENORMOUS assumptions and non of your facts are correct . Just wonder what we could say about YOU!

  • @TheSafecore The fact that both these acts are awesome, especially mumford, who have stood alone in mainstream as a folk band doesnt hurt though. I dont know if it did, but if it is how you say money got them their easy ride, their music has sustained their accent.

  • @shawnidge7 you simply can not 'stand alone in the MAINSTREAM' and be a 'FOLK' band. They're a POP band, don't sully the name of folk with that industry governed, shamelessly contrived shite. Being a folk musician goes far deeper than wearing tweed and holding a banjo whilst pouting at a load of 16 year old girls.

And of course the music has sustained their *ascent - if it sells, they'll play it.

  • @TheSafecore Do you have to be unpopoular to be a folk band? Not everything in mainstream is pop. All 4 mumford members play multiple instruments and have made some differently styled songs. Maybe they do not 'stand alone' per say, but I'm saying they have done very well with a different sound, compared to stuff like Lady Gaga. Marcus said himself they are a fold band.

Maybe their music has sold because its good. Yes most mainstream is crap but Marling and Mumford have musicality. A lot of it.
