This is very important stuff. I used to be a fish that couldn't breathe, but now I'm so much better because I can breathe. All their videos are a helpful insight into becoming a human being. Now what do I do with these fins?
ummm idkthis guys dumb but all you need to do is expand your chest and control your own breathing and take in as much oxygen as possible for long distance you breath slower yet big breaths and for sprints you breath fast as much as you can and pump them arms!!!!!!!!
you never actually mention how you should be breathing in each race. all you do is state how you should be breathing faster in the 100 rather than the 800. if you didnt already know that, thats pretty sad.
The longest distance a human being is able to sprint 100% at is approx. 40 meters, after that you may be close to a sprint speed or may feel like you are sprinting, but you are not at your maximum speed at which you started
because it's much more healthier for your lungs and breathing through your lungs warms air and it prevents pain from your sides you sometimes get when running

These people should open up their biology books sometime.
The only reason 'trained athletes' or the people that run more can do so much while breathing so little is that their heart sends out more blood with each heartbeat than the less trained ones.
And that happens due to the opening up of more arterioles and blood pathways in your body. And you can only achieve that by practicing more.
Simply put, the more you run and exercise, the less breathing you need to do.
Of course he doesn't say anything ... are you so stupid not to be able to get that this person is paid to give tips ! He just wanna be sort of more famous ... he explains a couple of things you may already know but that you wanna develop with a personal coach. And how come all what you write about this person is so full of violence, sort of untolerance ... Did he mean to hurt you or something ? Why loosing time to write nasty things down when you can cheer you friend up ? He may be a nice guy.
Dear expert Village, i was wondering if you could let us know how to expell gas pressure from our ass while running, like is there a special way to pass gas while sprinting, or marathoning?
this guy completely wasted my time, he would be a good politician , he said absolutely nothing of interest and yet the talked for 2 minutes ( barely gasping for air i might add )...... everything that he said, the body does on its own to a certain extent.
I have a question. Ive got to run a 59 mile run for charity while my friend cycles it. Do you think i should run or cycle this distance. I have been training for the past 6 months and have only got till 14th of march 2009 to train. I get breathless and i have asthma and do not know if this is a bad sign or not. Does anyone have any sagestions
" am not running it anymore. Im cycling it!! Wohoo."
I dunno, there might be a law against running or cycling that far...lol. I am a runner myself, well, the most I've done was about 6.5 miles, so I am not a runner in a marathon sense, but I love it. I was just shocked to know that you ran this length. How in the world do you train and condition your body and mind for this? It must take a Shaolin monk's discipline! Although I still think even they wouldn't even do it. Hats off to you.
i have a question, in about 8-10 weeks i need to start being able to run about 2-3 miles. but i can only run about 1/4 a mile, and its not because i get tired or anything, its because i lose my breath! im 19 and im not over weight or anything, and i dont smoke. but how can i start getting up to 2-3 miles at a time? again when i run i dont get tired, and just i breath so heavy i feel like im going to pass out and im forced to stop, catch my breath, then keep going.. thanks for any help!
start running in low pace for enduranced, n periodically entend the distants. before running, don't eat 2hours before. to up ur stamina, drink some black coffee n dates (or banana). works for me. hope this help :)

best way is deep slow breathes inhale with nose and slow exhale with mourh
andrewl5201 2 years ago
Wrong. The best breathing method is what makes you feel comfortable.
There are incredible marathon runners who breath through their mouths exclusively which makes sense as the mouth allows in much more oxygen at once.
Breathing slowly through the nose and slowly exhaling is going to starve most people of the amount of oxygen they need.

Do I inhale nose exhale mouth

Both. I exhale through both simultaneously, due to the contraction/exertion in the movement.

This is not a scientific answer in any way,
but I remember experiencing the same thing, and if I just pushed myself to keep going, I could. It's like you feel that you're gonna die if you carry on, but you go on, and it doesn't really get worse. So you just have to hang in there.
But of course - If it feels serious and you really can't actually go on, try some of the other tips here or consult a professional.
