Can you invest in Tonilia from the Thiefs Guild? She already starts with 4000 gold when you've completed the Guild Quest line.

@Leto85 ~ She is decent. You cannot invest in her to increase her any further. Her gold amount is tied to how far you have progressed in the Thieves Guild quest line, which it sounds like you've noticed. When you complete the "Special" quests for Delvin and the other merchants start moving in, they get a similar effect.

If no one in the shop you probably should exit and wait a couple hours. Make sure you are there on a weekday between 9 and 5 for most likely results.

@LaidbackLukee Invest, in the Speech Skill Tree. Apply your perks, and wait a couple in-game days after investing like in the video... This bug acts as if you invested with Lucan 20 times, instead of just once, thus his cash increases dramatically. However, in one of the recent patches, this is fixed meaning you can't take advantage of Lucan, at least... not without taking "certain steps."

The perk he is referring to is in your SKILLS tree above SPEECH. Go up the left side all the way to the top (Master Trader). You must have your speech at 100 to do this. The guy works at the Blackbriar Meadery but lives in Helga's Bunkhouse where it is better to meet him after hours. It takes a while, but well worth it for the overall game...just as this selling perk helps.

@Zapp0star You have to use your leveling to advance in the SPEECH tree up the left side until you fill the INVESTOR perk. Requires a 70 speech level which you can easily get to using the speech advance I mentioned in the response to LaidbackLukee.

When I was levelling up alchemy (Giants Toe + Blue Butterfly Wing + Blue Mountain Flower + various alchemy perk armor = you're welcome ;)) I made a crazy amount of gold from selling the potions, the Riverwood trader definitely helped with unloading them.

Also good to use the shops in Whiterun, with 100 Speech there are at least 9 shops/stalls with 1000+ gold

With the Riverwood trader once he has the 12k to trade, and you have stuff to sell you can make 12,000 gold every 2 minites. (1min to waite 2 days & 1min to sell) rinse and repeat!

Should say most expensive LEGIT items. I have a glitched account with 275% alchemy bonus bracers and can make 1 potion worth 20k.

But I usually buy out his store and then sell it to him. Still "lose" money... But I'm not complaining!

Good to finally know that, as far as everyone knows, he's the only merchant with this substantial of a cash pile.

A legal way to get traders with lots of gold would be the thieves guild quest line. Those fences later have 4000 gold.

My friend, everyone has this problem, and the solution is simple. walk up to a guard in river wood (or whiterun, but try river wood first) and make sure your weapons are put away (square on the ps3, r on the pc, and x on the xbox) and talk to the guard. pay for your bounty or go to jail. then, when u no longer have bounty; he shall no longer attack you. @wizkhalifaufc You have to get your speech up, basically they do the whole Pawn Stars thing and offer you a tenth of what it's worth. But as you get your speech up they will offer you more and you can get perks that increase the percent of gold you are offered for an item. Enchantments and potions can also help you get a better price

Get the banish echantment in solitude from the weapon shop (wait 48 hours in shop until he have it) create alot of iron dagger (Iron ingots and leather strips) enchant them with banish, go to the riverwood trader, and make sure you have 100 in speech , invest him with 500 gold and wait 48 hours after , then sell your iron daggers to him

The skill he is talking about is the Speech skill. if you get 100 speech, his gold will be 12000.

The Trader shop is always closed i think i fought with that guy early at some point and he and his bitch attacked me while doing the Letter quest when i got something from their home by accident the woman yielded and i was able to complete the quest but this guy kinda took off in the fight and now i see the doors locked and it wont open,i was level 2 when this happened by the way

@Realmasterorder I had this problem as well (skyrim glitched and didnt show that anyone was in the house til i took something lol) it was always locked for me too but i found to get it unlocked go back at night and pick the lock upstairs (it should be easy and no one should be up there) and then they'll be downstairs and the shop will be open. exited through the front door and it wasnt locked for me anymore :D good luck! hope this helps!

so pretty much this is my quick guide on how to be rich as fuck in this game.. 2 options.. 1. get enchanting high, enchant daggers. sell shit tons of them in river wood using this trick and make thousandsssss of dollars. or 2. get smithing to 100. kill dragons as often as possible. get a bunch of dragon bones/scales. make a bunch dragonplate armor. than "sell shit tons of them in river wood using this trick and make thousandsssss of dollars" lmao

For those aren't afraid of ruining the game using the console commands, their is a way easier option. Click on the merchants while having the console open then type "additem f xxxx" without quotations, The X is the quantity you want them to have. For example you can go to Warmaiden in Whiterun, click on the merchant, type in "additem f 6000" and when you ask what is for sale, their gold should increase by the quantity you inputted. This only works for PC
