how do you get up on the ledge in Level 4 with the jetpack?

I found that the best way to gain height is to jet almost right after jumping.

Also remember to worry about vertical distance first and horizontal distance second.

In other words, find the highest spot within reasonable distance.

level 4 is just confusing, are you talking about after you kill the 3 bats and fat thing and there is a machine gun where you are, and a shotgun dude on the ledge?
