how do you tune so low with a floating bridge? do you use heavier strings so theres more tension?

the only way you can do it is with a heavier string guage. try using 10-52 or even a 7 string set.

Heheh, I know that. The thing is though, the bridge keeps rising WAY too high n shit when I change strings. I now know that I have to reset the neck when I change from light to heavy gauge.

lol the catch is you cant tune to standard when you get heavy strings because it will raise the bridge. when i had light top heavy bottom strings on my jackson DK2M i couldnt tune any higher than C. the best way to tune low is just simply use a guitar with a standard bridge i guess.

you have to adjust the springs on the back of the guitar. tighten them if the back of your bridge is rising up, loosen them if your back is sinking in. it's all about the right balance of tension!
