But before the LS1 the Holden version had a 5.7 only producing 300 h.p. at the engine. then Holden put in the LS2 in their version of the GTO and G8. So for the the Aussies the car was more GM then Holden? I agree i wish they did a more retro version, but thats what i love about my GTO. It blends in and stands out at the same time. Its easy to hate on a newer goat when you've got a 1972 Ram Air GTO in your driveway. I'd like a 69 GTO to sit next to mine.

That just means there was condensation in the pipes. Doesn't mean the motor wasn't at operating temp. On humid mornings my car spits water out till I punch it to get it out of the exhaust, even if the motor is warm. My exhaust never gets hot enough past the headers to burn off all the moisture. You can touch my mufflers with the car running.
Holden is where American car stayed while we when to fwd v6s and 4s..they stay with big rwd v8s. That how I look at the G8 and GTO..American car being build else where until we were ready again..Pontiac is dead so we must have not been ready.

Actually the motor is American, but it was designed in Australia. I wouldn't say its half half, as Australian ford also have a similar design for their straight six cars, so it's completely an Australian car. Holden didnt decide to export them. GM said, "bitch, give us your car design because we own you" and they said ok. then the design was then built here in the U.S. only under the GTO name. not technically import material.
Not quite, if Holden decided they didn't want to export, GM would be up shit creek without a paddle. The market is profitable enough here that the only thing Holden has to do with GM is "You're affiliated with us" and thats it. There was a huge news story over here when holden decided to export, I remember it.

Even Holden didnt want this car being called "Pontiac GTO", Car & Driver reported that the Holden team hated the idea, thus the missing "Pontiac" nomenclature on the car until the last model runs. I just call it as I see it, no excuses!

You also might like to know that I'm not about numbers correct cars, my own PMDs are not number matching originals, but they are PMD & PMD powered or have PMD designed equipment. But before the LS1 the Holden version had a 5.7 only producing 300 h.p. at the engine. then Holden put in the LS2 in their version of the GTO and G8. So for the the Aussies the car was more GM then Holden? I agree i wish they did a more retro version, but thats what i love about my GTO. It blends in and stands out at the same time. Its easy to hate on a newer goat when you've got a 1972 Ram Air GTO in your driveway. I'd like a 69 GTO to sit next to mine.

Brand loyal & Team Loyalty have been begot for "fast". No Chevy engine in a import is a PMD GTO, nor will it ever be, or modern Camaro barfed fake T/As. Fast is not the hallmark to make a GTO, you just can't rebadge or label something they are not for money! Why should a non PMD car be a PMD car?!

Like i said i wish it was more of a retro version and not a rebadged but I didnt want to buy a GT mustang bc i see thousands and all it takes is a v6 to have swapped bumpers and dualed exhaust and it could LOOK like a GT or Cobra, so i didnt want that, I couldn't afford a Charger or a new Challenger, and Chevy stopped making the SS in 03 and the only other thing in 05 with a 400 hp LS2 was the Corvette. That just means there was condensation in the pipes. Doesn't mean the motor wasn't at operating temp. On humid mornings my car spits water out till I punch it to get it out of the exhaust, even if the motor is warm. My exhaust never gets hot enough past the headers to burn off all the moisture. You can touch my mufflers with the car running.

The 04-06 is just a Holden Monaro with new bumpers. It is 100% Aussie Design, only the Engine/Trans would be USA. Holden is the Aussie division of GM.
The 2006 GTO was sold for around 30k and is almost as fast as a 2007 GT500 Mustang. It is the fastest car you could get for 30k by lightyears.

Actually the motor is American, but it was designed in Australia. I wouldn't say its half half, as Australian ford also have a similar design for their straight six cars, so it's completely an Australian car. Its like saying a Supra is part American because it sold alot in the US, when really its a Japanese car that was exported, its the same with the GTO, its just another import.

Holden didnt decide to export them. GM said, "bitch, give us your car design because we own you" and they said ok. then the design was then built here in the U.S. only under the GTO name. not technically import material.
