  • good old mars light

  • what dept are u on?

  • @firefighter31256 This is the Chicago Fire Department.

  • Look hard to drvie in the snow... You got some great vids. Love watching them

  • That must be a pain in the ass to drive in the snow, but by the looks of it they have the exp., to do it.

  • he is magic doing that

  • shouldnt use the mechanical sirens in weather like that. or even when its cold, you should only use the electric. mech sirens can break when the inner workings are frozen. if all department knew this, they would have saved alot of time

  • that is one sick Q DX you guys ran it to hard to long. this si why its good to use a pa300 or powercall. and use the Q for extra warning, like interesctions

  • 1949 fire truck!!!!LOL LOL LOL LOL!!

  • Funny stuff!!!

  • Mars lights are the best. Great vid.

  • i love how they were laughing at the siren they were using

  • lmao, id laugh too, me and my buds, installed a pacman siren for the fin of it, and pranked another guy, a rookie, you should have seen the look on his face, XD

  • lol, i wish i could of

  • ITS A MARS LIGHT!

    i love those things

  • the shame of it what happend 2 the other sirens lmao

  • a darn shame, lmfao

  • nice video i truly like it

  • it sounded like the drive said go 394 is this is Minnesota up by White Bear Lake??

  • Now that is one buggered Q. Brushes or the clutch most likely, unless it's part-siezed bearings

  • Haha!!!

  • What kind of trucks do you guys have?

We have a 1984, 97 Mc Model Mack engines, 86' R Model Mack, 97' Ford F350 Brush Truck, 2000 Ford F450 Squad, and 72' American Lafrance Engine

  • wow, that does sound broke.

  • lol

  • what kind of station tones do you guys have. a bell or buzzer or something?

  • First he says we sound like a 1949 fire engine, then he says 1965...It sounded god with the broken Q.

  • he didnt say "1965" he said 65, before this engine's (engine 664) Q siren broke, our other engine (engine 665) its Q siren broke so they had to use the electric siren for a few months, so he was just saying it reminds him of 65 referring to engine 665.

  • @shfrfghtr Is there any photo of this truck?

  • is the light in between the windshields that light that makes that W on the road??

  • yes sir, thats the famous MARS light.

  • those type of make me sick...we used to have one and it was distracting to our drivers

  • it is sometimes called an 8-88, i love them!

  • it dose sound like a tornado siren!

  • I'd aim that Mars light a little higher.

  • what state, fair amount of snow, we always have that here in vermont

  • illinois.

  • Where in Illinois?

  • south holland, it is a large suburb about 25 miles south of Chicago.

  • Whats all that white stuff? Love the broken Q.

  • SNOW!!! lol thanks for watching and commenting!

  • they shoulda kept using the Q. Woulda made it sound like an older video. Put it in black and white. Woulda been awesome.

  • lol, thats a good idea, i'll try it out. thanks for the comment!

  • i thought the "older" sound added a nice touch

  • That siren sounds like a air raid siren.

  • I actually like the sound of that broken Q siren. If you could get it to wail more evenly it'd sound like an air raid siren. Maybe the Q isn't such a bad sounding siren after all.

  • Q's are cool, but now I can see why my FD uses the electronic-Q siren. It's too prone to break. Granted, I still love the sound of a mechanical Q siren.

  • Go faster! lol

  • Not in that weather.

  • screechign around turns, stopping sideways on scene, lol.

  • great video, i like it !

hehe that Q sure sounded funny!! ;D

  • 1949? 1965?

Sounds like a time machine, not a fire truck!

  • lol. It's A Bad Q. We Fixed It Though.

  • where did u take the vid at?

  • we have a shelf that holds binders above the hump between the engineer and officer. i placed the camera on that shelf.

  • Nice steady video! But why sound the siren when no traffic? Sounds like voltage is too low or a motor coil bad. It coasts fine. MARS light is ineffective aimed too low! I-94 Northbound?? I-94 runs east/west.

  • That I-94 Goes North Into Chicago. Thanks For The Comment. It Was Bad Q Siren. We Got It Fixed.

  • Great Video! What Department & State? I work down here in the Houston area, and if we opened the bay doors and saw all of that snow, we would crap our selfs! Be Safe! Awsome Job!

  • South Holland Illinois. Just south of Chicago.

  • that sucks that the Q broke, and then they couldnt figure out how to get the electronic siren on, lol.

  • nice mars lite!

  • just got an idea for a new camera placement. in a corner of the cab near the roof, facing the crew showing them getting ready.

  • nice idea, the problem is is we are using a digital camera with a video camera feature, and we try not to do any "construction" type work on the cab, all we do is put the camera on a shelf in between the officer and engineer and it just sits there recording.

  • At least you guys are having a good time and making the best of being out in that weather. Great job.

  • Thanks, We Try To Make The Best Of Our Time. Thanks For Commenting and Rating!!!

  • "it sounds like a 1945 fire truck." that sucks man

The real Q is better because we use it and it works blasting through an intersection. keep up the good work.

  • This is the real Q. It just broke, i think it might of been the bearings. It just SOUNDS like a 1945 Fire Truck Siren (the one you used to crank)or a tornado siren. WE DID FIX IT THOUGH AND IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE NEW!!

  • it sounds like a tornado siren, lol. it sounds cool, but the real Q is better, i think. cool vid. keep em comin.
