Also wirklich, wie kann man diese Leistung nur als negativ bezeichnen. Katie Melua singt dieses Lied mit einer Liebe zum Song, dass sich mir jedesmal sämtliche Haare aufstellen. I have no issue with you questioning Melua's performance, she's not everyone's cup of tea. But to question the song, which has gone down as a classic and will be considered a classic for many years to come, I find incredibly surprising. And yes artists will do songs they don't consider their best, but I think the list of artists that clearly think highly of it speaks for itself

We're allowed to disagree…history has shown some artists record bad choices hoping for a financial pay off. i.e. they go "selling out" etc I cannot believe Stevie or Ellington would record this folk song for its musical merit. These were simply lapses in their quality control... I certainly can see that Blowing in the Wind "means" a lot to people from that era, but as a piece of folk music I still maintain it's average at best.
