So, I just listened to Fantasia's version right b4 this one-and though this girl can sing; she simply doesn't have the 'hootspa', the juice, quite frankly the soul to pull this song off. It just wasn't the right song for her, and I couldn't feel anythin from the performance.

Tamyra's currently on the broadway musical RENT till the 15th of June. Then she plans to release her second album later this year (early fall for her first single). Let's hope to see her rule the music scene this time !!! :)

As for her not winning season 1, I would say it's been a blessing in disguise for her cus she's done a lot more than just plain SINGING. Movies, TV Shows, Modelling, Music of course ( debut album :THE DREAMER) and more recently Broadway. Had she won American Idol, she would 've had to stick to music per se. But yes, I too sometimes wish she had won that season, but I think she 'll certainly shine in many other ways cus she's a truly versatile individual (courtesy : the above mentioned ventures)
