And he's one of the most disturbing villains I've ever seen portrayed, not because of physical deformity, but because of mental deformity and mutation to something beyond human. Light's drive to become all-powerful makes him essentially omnicidal by the end of the manga, and in the anime he's become so depraved that he's basically been rendered insane instead of well-intentioned. I'm going to say it straight. The anime sucks. Hard. But the manga is one of a kind. The first comic I actually liked because of the plot and not only for the characters. The only good thing in anime was the awesome character themes that I enjoy listening while re-reading the manga.

Light was one of the most interesting characters I have seen ever. I love the anime because it follows Light trough bad and good times, how he was graduating from a person who was doing right (..Or so he thought) to a monster. Not that "monster" is bad, but Light truly did CHANGE within the three seasons.

Death Note will forever be one of my favorite animes at all time.
