Minnie can sing live every note unlike divas now who lose their voice and lipsynch most of their performance. NO gimmicky before, real deal, real musicality. And Minnie;s lyrics were always about love, true love and sheer consumation of love.
@Sadesfan In what voice? In whistle register? Cause I disagree with those who say that is what Minnie sings those high notes in. Getting up to F#7 in whistle is therefore, as far as I'm concerned, not yet close to Minnie's range display
@Sadesfan on second observation, Minnie's high notes are indeed whistle register but her saturated tone and power in her whistle register is remarkable. I can actually go to G7 in whistle but not effortlessly, and I'm sure Minnie can go much higher than the highest shown on this video or that you will find recorded from her performances.
@okebaram IM sure she can she was in her early 30's when she died so she would of had a lot of time to hit even higher note so just say it would have been possible for her to get higher
OMG she is amazing! How I wish she was around today. She is the Queen of the Whistle Register she can go from sounding ethereal to sounding like the string section of a symphony orchestra!
Why is this rated low? This sounds right. Atleast if they we're gonna do that, they could commented why? That's was rude. I agree with most, but I don't believe D#3 is a note, I thought it was Eb3. The E7-F#7 i'm not sure about either
No it's not. It depends entirely on the key, and going by the fact that she sings an F# and an E before it, I'd say it's most likely to be a sharp key. So yeah, it's a D#.

@okebaram Well, since my throat was sore for a full week, I can only go up to an E#7, which isn't high as Minnie. Yes, in whistle register.

haha never heard that low note by Minnie before, was nice!! So Eb3-F#7 is 4 octaves 1 note and a semitone. NOT a big difference :)

I thought Eb3 and D#3 were the same!
panxosolis 3 years ago
They are.

yes, but Eb3 is really the note term your supposed to use.

well that was 3 weeks ago, i could really care less about now..

Drich is correct. In vocal measurements based on the grand staff, Eb3 is the correct notation.
