When you have heard as much of Purcells music as I have, you will begin to wonder if not Purcell was one of the greatest music talents ever. I think he was. And a bit underestimated.

@achantus1 I fully agree with you!! his music is wonderful and decades ahead of it's time...But maybe he was born in the wrong era to be recognised as an all time great..baroque music does not tend to be taken seriously enough!!!..

@mrsneaky2010 Yes, baroque music is not regarded as seriously as romantic music. And some people (that really don't know anything about music at all) values contemporary music ( like the unintelligeble noice of my countryman Arne Nordheim) even higher. Ignorant snobs! They're just there for the drinks and the pleasant feeling of superiority.!
