  • I'd say the first 2 Stooges albums are the best. And by that I mean ever. The sound has always bugged me on Raw Power, though. Of course "Seek and Destroy" and "Gimme Danger" are amazing songs, bu the sound of the band is much weaker than on the previous albums. wish they had not had David Bowie mix that album. I blame him.

  • Dumb question/obseration, but both Morrison and Iggy have these full throated primordial screams, and I think they both owe a debt to James Brown, but my question is did Morrison and Pop know each other and/or influence each other?

  • Morrison influenced Pop, or so I've read.

  • Yeah, Iggy was a huge Jim Morrison fan, but he was also really into R&B, including James Brown, Little Richard, etc. I've heard he was also into The Sonics then, but I can't really confirm that and doubt it.

  • Read Please Kill Me by Legs McNeil.

  • makes me want to wear a lampshade on my head and chop melons with a samurai sword
