  • Good on TVNZ for playing along.. I'm sure Paul Henry would have loved it!

  • u would have thought the tvnz staff would have clicked when he said jay pryor = jono pryor duh!!

  • "they told me not to look at the camera, so naturally i spent all the time i could looking at the camera" :D

  • hahaha! Only just realised this was guy williams from the jono project!!

  • "from a libertarian perspective, we believe free markets is the best way"

    Brilliant! XDDD

  • Can't believe his Poker Face! Great composure.

for all you saddists, laugh a bit, the worlds shit enough without down-buzzes like you too!

  • You legend Guy Williams!

  • non profit commercial whaling omg lol, this is brilliant.

  • I love the "the man had gone to reasonable lengths"... no he hadn't.

  • The Cove...

if you havent already, you need to see this doco.

  • Classic.

  • Guy Williams hes a funny ass comedian haha

  • "a non-profit group promoting commercial whaling?"

    "yeah, absolutely, yeah..."

    HAHAH love it

  • I hate all these celebrities that jump on bandwagons they're such self righteous arrogant pricks.

There is too much attack on the Japanese whaling and not enough on European countries like Norway and Denmark.

  • Wasn't even funny...pretty bad acting really

  • @Robinfuk you moron the whale guy was meant to be bad. IT WAS A HOAX.

idiots should not be allowed access to the internet.

  • @Robinfuk the whale guy was meant to be bad.IT WAS A HOAX.

idiots should not have access to the internet

  • @klonero I realize it was a hoax dbag, I was saying that I didn't find it funny. Is it ok for me to share my point of view without being called an idiot just because it differs to yours?

  • @Robinfuk i called you an idiot because you dont understand why it was funny.

it is a respected nation wide show and was humiliated for believing that people would actually do this. it also happened 3 times.

  • thats like the number1 joke, jono is a legend

  • Epic trolljob.

  • @puppyschnabel Now, as for them being the only morning show, you are correct (I think lol) as I heard, there was anoother morning show on tv 3 (Sunrise) but tvnz shut the show down due to loss of market (Thanks to breakfast, goodmorning show).

  • Yeah take that paul ...Jono is legend!

  • Nice one Jono.

  • LMAO..saw this on the Jono project....

  • The biggest problem here is that as someone else said, this is the ONLY morning show in NZ. Those two hosts are it. Think about how bad that is.

The standard of journalism if you can even call it that (and its lack of diversity) within this country is nothing short of appalling.

  • @puppyschnabel we are a prty small country dude, smaller than most cities

  • @puppyschnabel breakfast isnt that bad, these sort of shows are meant to be banal and uncontroversial its pretty much the same in any country. and compared to sunrise...well thank god theres only one breakfast show now

  • @puppyschnabel Dude, there isn't much lack of journo standards seeing as the problems and news these guys produce are generally the same topics all other shows (tv one news, tv three news etc etc) tend to follow aswell... same thing could be said for the host aspect too.

  • @SaberOtaku

Tell me how is hunting one of the most intelligent species on the planet for its unsavory mercury filled meat is good?

  • dude calm down its just a joke a prank from the show the jono project on c4 (new zealand tv)

  • @TuhaAndZach I know its classic lol I'm just talking to the people commenting on here that actually think commercial whaling is good

  • classic

    love it

  • lol soild effort Guy.

  • I wonder what they're going to do next Jono and the guys @ C4

  • mtv own3d c4

  • C4 own3d TVNZ!

  • asshol

  • Lol. I reckon that this was pretty awesome that he actually got on the show. Although he could have done better to be more convincing he did do a good enough job to fool most people.

  • @Sylsab He had no time to prepare a speech, all he did was create a website and put an ad in the paper, then he got a call from tvnz a few days later :D

  • This is brilliant

  • Comment removed

  • i agree with @YourEminence it was lame!

  • Brilliant, clever, made me laugh. People who make comments like 'where was the humour?' etc etc don't get it. He was effective in taking these muppet journos for a ride. That they were gullible enough to believe in such a thing as a charity supporting whaling....that is gold.

The cyber morons won't like this. But thinking people will.

  • @stylesnz idk if they believed it or not but its there job they cant say hey i dont believe your cause is real. can you imagine saying that to a red cross collector.

  • @stylesnz Well said!

  • @stylesnz Im a thinking person, and i dont think its all that funny

  • totally agree with xanderthurteen - lost opportunity. lame.

  • lol

  • hahahahahahahahaha this is gona be on jonos new project on c4 monday 8 30. this guy was dais progidy

  • What a lame prank. Nuff said.

  • @yngvaibucketrucci Have you even read the background, you cretin? It's a hoax done, on a serious breakfast show, to be shown on a so-called comedy show. Retard...

  • @jonnieonionrings i know what it is you dumbass motherfucker but the things he was saying werent meant to be funny, just the fact that he'd got into that situation. retard..

  • Hope he's better at comedy than hoaxing!!

  • This is so lame! You had such a perfect opportunity to create one of the best pranks in the the history of NZ tv, instead you bumbled your way through unfunniness, but that pretty much sums up 'The Jono Project' anyway... zing!

  • 0o0h Pipa I Love You. LOl...

  • I am a body language expert and I saw staright through this when it was aired, watch as his eyes go up to the right when he's struggling for answers, this shows deceipt

  • yeah hindsight is pretty awesome. don't have to be an 'expert' to see he's full of shit.

  • @MegaHow2DoIt I'm not a body language expert, only have a baisic knowledge of it, and even i noticed that.

  • substitute 'mining' for 'whaling' and I can't imagine Henry quibbling

  • Doesn't it seem to bother anyone that this guy lied to everyone just to do this "hoax" ... TVNZ made a mistake (like we all do, over and over again). Guess we're all up for a little lynch mobbing ....

  • Being out of NZ I love hearing a strong accent.

at 1:36 "WOOL in the short term... our goal is to have the IWC proposal pushed through, so that WOOL reduce the number... in the long term commercial whaling WOOL function on its own." -"How?" -"Um WOOL from a lib...."

  • Haha, Classic

  • Pipa is freakin hot

  • @ngaumatau YES Pippa is

  • @ngaumatau Well said!

  • @ngaumatau no

  • @jonnieonionrings this isnt comedy you retard its a serious breakfast show

  • @yngvaibucketrucci Yes it is you fuck

  • @NJLNOODLE i mean the show is not a comedy show its a serious show, just the guest is not being serious. you fuck

  • @yngvaibucketrucci Oh yeah dude, you made that clear as with your mean grammar and sentence structure

  • @NJLNOODLE jesus man just shut the fuck up, there was nothing even wrong with my grammar or sentence structure

  • Comment removed

  • I wish it was slightly less obvious and he didn't blow his cover, but still, it was done pretty well for most of the time. TVNZ keep stuffing up so much at the moment, and for Jono's team to undermine them twice, it's ridiculous (but hilarious).

  • the "hoax" would have been effective if he was not fumbling and mumbling with his arguments. Seems like he is building up his arguments as he goes and doing only a mediocre job of it. this fellow did a great job getting on the network but that is where his success story ends. He must take a lesson from Borat in being spunky and alive not a mumbling drone.

  • @tuaclass - spot on, an opportunity wasted!

  • Jono FTW

  • Would have been nice to see a bit more wit involved.. would have been nice to have seen him rip into paul henry more directly somehow..

  • HOW DID THEY NOT SEE THIS ONE COMING. the guys name is JAY PRYOR FFS. J. PRYOR = Jonothan pryor , AKA JONO , the biggest shit stirrer in nz tv

  • hoaxs??

  • It's not an entirely absurd argument.

If we weren't allowed to own and consume chickens, they'd be an endangered species within a couple of generations.

Nothing protects an animal like property rights.

  • @policemanaaron if you didnt no this guy was taking the piss. you must admit tho i thought it was funny. look up the jono project with the octo-egg

  • @TheNittypooh

That much was obvious by the title of the video, lol.

Ironically, his "hoax" argument wasn't entirely illogical.

  • "Financial incentives to protect the whales". I LOLed.

  • lol. "many of us belong to the libertarian group, i personally don't" then later on he says he is a libertarian :D

  • @Aftermath696 just because hes has libertarian views doesnt mean he is part of a libertarian group.

also i look foward to seeing this on The Jono Project

  • @ipoundpoon It's part of the hoax he probly isnt a libertarian at all

  • @Aftermath696 no shit sherlock but you thought you caught him out when you hadn't

  • @ipoundpoon Stop taking things so seriously. I was only pointing something out

  • @Aftermath696 fuck u are retarded. u didnt point anything out he was fine to say that

  • @ipoundpoon Calm down. It's not even a serious video so why even argue.

  • @Aftermath696 peace brother

  • @ipoundpoon Glad we finally worked it out. :)

  • TVNZ Uploaded this, don't kill them, they're being good sports.

  • Haaaaaaahahaaha!

  • baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hahaha

im a kiwi, this is New Zealands ONLY breakfast show. It is a big deal when the whole country only has one source of current affairs in the morning and they get duped with a bullshit interview. Its awesome. They present the mornings news, I guess they chose this guy to get people racked up for the day.... ANGRY PEOPLE WORK HARDER I SHOULD KNOW

  • @gaiusmarius161 you're wrong

  • @gaiusmarius161 what about tv 3 morning show? meh we got fox, cnn, bbc, sky news on sky digital in the morning

  • if thats a prank then its gotta be one of the most boring... wow tricked the show wipty doo zzzzz huh uh? zzzzzz

  • JONO if u are reading this. YOU SUCK HELEN CLARK NOB!

    - winstern peters

  • @loyaltodeath nice spelling bro

  • @loyaltodeath what a silly comment full of "Orsome" spelling fucken dick bag.

  • @thebadestlad that is the point. bag dick.

  • @loyaltodeath obiously you dont see what or who im taking the piss out off run along and sniff mummys pantys you wee waster

  • The Jono Project FTW.

  • TVNZ = Owned! The Jono Project = Legendary!

  • jonos show i bet

  • Isn't this the dude that won that comedian competition on C4 last year?

  • Well done Guy, and thanks for articulating some of the arguments in favour of the free market which would offer protection for whales. Currently because no-one owns them, or the oceans in which they swim it's just open slaughter with the Japs and Scandanavians being among the worst offenders. Allocating property rights so that individuals have a vested interest in looking after and nurturing whales, and killing them humanely, is the way to ensure the viability of these sea cattle.

  • @libertarian61 um durrr he doesnt believe that its a joke . you only believe that cause your a libertarian = stupid. The Market aint perfect you silly goose you stopped reading your economics too soon

  • @libertarian61 Explain sea cattle

  • classic - "farming becomes a relistic option" Imagine farming whales? How much would they eat!

  • I'm pro-whaling (in theory). I don't like how whales are currently slaughtered, however, if there was a good reason to kill whales that aren't extinct, why not?

Whales aren't any different from baby cows (veal), lamb, horse or dog (and i've eaten them all).

But what's the point? whales are at the top of the food chain, and like dolphins and tuna, are now quite toxic, due to a variety of pollutants such as mercury - rendering human (or even animal) consumption as just... dangerous.

  • knob

  • A wasted opportunity, didn't even crack a smile. what a dry prank!

  • Comment removed

  • thx for uploading TVNewZealand. breakfast will probably talk about this 2moro on breakfast, can u post the clips if they do? probably be sleeping in 2moro haha

  • That is awsome :)

  • "Farming of whales would be realistic option" LOL

  • Ha ha ha!

  • Good on you mate. Show the whalers and the media how crazy they are.

    Anyone want an Ipad? Bwahahahaha.

  • Funny he is not. But yeah, a job well done.

  • That was um um um think of big words um um epic great effort jay i mean guy. Who put him up to it does anyone know??

  • went to school with guy williams he is absolute class he pulled it off sweetly with paul henry. body language gave it away lol haha great stuff guy good effort ten out of ten!.

  • It's a shame that he forgot to be funny after all that hard work

  • @ah339 exactly what i thought.

  • absolute gold - Henry & TVNZ are so stupid.

  • I saw it this morning and couldn't believe it. He was so dead pan, played the part very well.

  • lol Guy you are the man!

  • jono you are the man!!!

  • For a comedian this guy left out the essential part being funny.

  • With a name like "Jay Pryor" I dont know how he got through??.. Did TVNZ not see Jono's New Project on C4 last night and the egg yolk prank.... cant wait for next Monday 8.30pm C4.. hahahha :o)

  • @f1aholic1 i was watching the pacific, what happened on Jonos new show?

  • I thought this guy was a comedian?

  • @bootz17 "hoax pro whaler" ;)

  • @bootz17 No, the comedian is Paul Henry, what a clown (Oh, but he tells it like it is!) Yeah, he laughs at ugly and disabled people, what a wit...What were you expecting the hoaxer to do? Go "Uuuuuh, got you, good one, ay?!' Instead it was a subversive exposure of the cynical shallowness of modern media. And Paul Henry struggling to understand what was going on, a bonus, most def!
