  • Pretty awesome they got the title for this from dawn of the dead!

  • no rythm guitar?

  • @lllLaquetepariolll James on vocals Lars Drum Dave Guitar Rith and Lead Ron Bass

  • Sounds like Freddie Mercury a bit. :D

  • James wanted to sound like Sean Harris From Diamond Head. That's why he sounds different than Kill em All. but after he listened to it a realized he really didn't sound like Sean, He changed his voice.

  • THIS IS MINT !!!!!

  • thats dave mustain who sing , Jame just start to sing after Burton come in the band.

  • @acerex12 dumb fuck

  • @acerex12 Dave didn't start singing until he formed Megadeth, James always sang in Metallica but for a while at the beginning he didn't play guitar.

get it right shit for brains.

  • @acerex12 man get your facts straight! who do you think is that vocalist on kill ride and master?

  • @acerex12 Dave stated, he never sang on a record before founding Megadeth... and watch at that tape's label, James is named as the (v)ocalist and Dave plays the lead guitar, which he does pretty good...

  • Thumbs up for james going through puberty.

  • I go to highschool with Ron's son, and my brother dated his daughter haha.

  • 3:56 - 4:00 The Skull Beneath The Skin.

  • @GoldenHeadKiller7 not really but its probably the same notes. the skull beneath the skin was more complicated

  • the quality is not bad oO

  • Dave Mustaine disliked this video 3 times when he was kicked out of Metallica

  • Yea...Ron i BETTER then Jason...

  • what happened back then is that ron felt he was being used by the rest of the band as a source of monetary supply for the band instead of being used as a member of the band,he had this all nice fancy equipment and garage. he quit metallica selling all of his equipment .

  • this is way back when only dave was guitar

  • @metalhed1100 That never happened, Ron just didn't wanna write VG next to James' name

  • @OoberFuzz well how come i didnt here rhythm guitar huh

  • @metalhed1100 You do hear rhythm guitar, Dave and James used to play in the exact same tuning and the exact same notes, and wait for a solol you can hear it perfectly.

  • @OoberFuzz well if you actually new metallica history you would find that for a few live shows and a demo james only did vocals cuz he was uncomfortable with a guitar in 1981 some of their early shows i no my metallica history and theres some photos of james and dave and james only had a mic and dave had a guitar

  • why is breast feeding at 8 a related video...? O.O.

  • @MrEyebrowz because this song is so badass it makes you wanna make babies, they are just preparing you

  • @randombordteenagers ahhhh.... it all makes sense now :D. XD

  • @MrEyebrowz Because listening to metallica is like sucking titties. FEELS WAY TOO GOOOD!

  • Actually Dave is singing here, cause in the begging James wasnt interested in singing.

  • @Simen113 beggining*

  • @Simen113 It's James singing here. He wasn't interested in singing and playing guitar simultaneously. He doesn't play guitar on this demo tape. Dave never sang in Metallica.

  • @TheJanneJeesus Ill be damned, it is James! My mistake

  • @Simen113 Well yeah, it's kind of confusing :D

  • What's distinctive about is that this sounds like they mean this damn thing.

  • wow... james improved just a little bit after this haha

  • sounds alot like diamond head

  • it you compare this to the ''real'' thing in 1983 or Ride in 1984 you wouldn't believe that's james

  • @am91666 yeah what the hell did they distort his voice or something?

  • Was this before Dave Mustaine ?

Since there was no rythm guitar on the solo sections, and the solos sounded, no offence to James, pretty bad.

  • @EvenL33tland No James Was singing only it is Dave Mustaine on Guitar. Dave Joined late Febuary 1982 and This was recorded 3/14/82 so I can see why it sounds horrible.

  • @EvenL33tland James didn't play in this song. He was too inexperienced.

  • @mccommentary really? do you mean too inexperanced to sing and play guitar at the same time? because the first demo of this song he played guitar and bass, and the got that black dude to do the guitar solos for it.

  • ............HIT The LiiiiiiIIIIiiiIIiiiIIIiiiiiiiiightzzzzzzzzz.............ah!!!!!!

  • 0:08 hit the lightsssssssssssssssssss

  • loooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeee uuuuuuuuuu metallicaaa!!!!!!!

  • LOVE IT. PURE TRASH

  • @tamagarden thrash not trash remember

  • where you get that

  • Dave makes this song more powerful than kirk))

  • james' voice makes me want to punch myself...hard.

but for u guys saying how his vocals sucked, well thats cuz he never even learned how to sing. he used to play drums, then lars got james and dave and ron, and lars took drums. james learned guitar from dave and then cliff and kirk, and taught himself how to sing afterwards. then after he killed his voice with "so what" like 1241234234years later, he ended up taking vocal lessons....and thats why he yodels now. :/

  • they kinda sucked back then! lol

  • @modelking100 how?

  • very cool version!

  • its cliffs birthday 2day

    happy b day cliff

  • i love this tipe of things¡¡¡

  • Thank god James figured out he's not Freddie Mercury.

  • this is the only metallica i listen to, after they got a record deal they souled out and i stopped listening to they. and Ron Mcgovney is the bass bassist ever, better than jason echo dangus and cliff drangle

  • @JDilla2812 dude megadeth is better. Metallica died when they kicked dave out. Watch out Kirk, Mustain's in that plane!

  • @wippudaeu No, Metallica slowly died AFTER CLIFF DIED

  • @wippudaeu ur prety rong if mustaine stayed most likely metallica would of failed cuase mustaine was a heavy drunk yeah when they kicked him out tey used some of his material but they really died and sold out after cliff died cuase he was like the big brother in the band he was the one who made the quotes we r never gonna change no mater what people think we dont give a shit and if dave never lefthere wouldnt be megadeth my fav band and in the 80s metallica was better but now megadeth is better

  • @JDilla2812

Jaco Pastorious would like to have a word with you.

Then kick your ass for saying a clown like Ron McGovney is better.

  • @jeleopard ron was a little bitch he left cause dave poored beer down the neck of his electric bass and got a little shock its metal nad hardrock shit like that happens

  • @easy1026 no, he left cuz he was holding on the band, giving money for transportation, AND on top of that dave poored beer down the neck of the bass. and, they we're all bitching around without even care about him. so, he was full of it and left. but it was good, because he wasnt a very good bass player, james tought him all, thank god he left, or else we never had cliff xD

  • @JDilla2812 okay, now you can go back to the shithole you crawled out of

  • James only the vocals in this track, Dave Mustaine on guitars...

  • This is surprisingly good quality for a 82 demo.

  • wtf dave was kicked because of his problems with drugs and alcohol and james was a fucking stupid alcoholic! irony sounds great!

dave I admire you a lot! you started a better band than metallica.

besides, metallica is one of the worst bands live, kirk failed a lot

  • @WbCobain To paraphrase Dave himself: I was a really violent drunk. When I got into trouble, it was because of alcohol. But, Lars and James were playful drunks.

  • They practice "Am I Evil" at '82, why the hell Am I Evil isnt in Kill em All with Cliff Burton?

  • @Barkiy Am i evil was on the original Garage days and then on the re-released version of Kill 'em all but was removed a few years later

  • @matmcghee I know that but Garage days version with Jason :(

  • @Barkiy No thats garage days re-visited there was a garage days before that

  • @matmcghee you mean that 5 song ep garage days?

  • what the fuck? yeah i agree,,,why the hell is that in related videos?

  • Glad Het' went to rythym guitar eventually, this sounds like Motley Crue.

  • fucking legend

  • i dont think ron was worse

  • was this before they got james to do rhythm guitar as well?

  • @Ryleboy92 yeP.

  • @Ryleboy92 yes, this recording has one guitar

  • Toniaaaaaiiiiiiaaaaaaght :D

  • i don't see how ron was any worse.

  • mustaine sings too?

  • @thehellarmykwbt You dont mean singing in this do you? because he never did sing whilst in Metallica

  • Comment removed

  • Oh Dave, I love you, man, but your solo is painfully bad.

  • @browsfan lol i know what happens there, it happens when i play with my band too, in the solo spaces for the song we play any shitty solo just to mark there is a soloi don't really think dave was so serious about the solo there

  • 0:08 my creation muchly?

  • @96Dethmagnetic IT'S ALIVEEEEEE! :P Yeah, it sounds a bit like it indeed XD

  • James sounds good here, but he sounds like he inhaled a balloon before recording.

  • @Itachifan186 Thazz cuz they used to play in standard tuning back then and Jaymz`z voice is kinda in the lower spectrum...took `em a couple o`years to figure that out so now they play tuned half-step down :)))) I`ve tried to play and sing their shit in std tuning-and I was blowing my vocal cords out, tuned a half step lower and it sounded beautiful.

  • Ron was pretty awsome on bass, too bad they didn't get him back after Cliff Died.

  • The drums here are better than the Enter Sandman demo

  • this is from the power metal demo i think. really oldschool!

  • No vuvuzela with this!

  • really good recorded. Even better quality than the and justice for all demos and shit

  • There's only one guitar here and James is only credited as "V", which I would assume means vocals... interesting.

  • @IbanezEqualsWin Dave is on the guitar. James is just singing

  • Amazing to think that this was played in a garage when nobody knew them. Then they went on to rule the world and play this song in front of millions. Ron McGovney's neighbors didn't know how lucky they were.

  • @MuzikSuite Haha, maybe Ron´s neighbours were just complaining all day, haha!

I mean, imagine to complain to a band which is playing next to your house, and some years after, you see then having all that success!!!

  • Why the hell is "breasting feeding at 8" a related video?

  • @HungPastor its one of those weird things, i once had britny spears in my recemondations because i watched slayer :/

  • @HungPastor cuz old metallica is just as good as titties :P

  • @HungPastor holy shit I lmfao.

  • @HungPastor because the baby was james hetfield

  • @HungPastor haha probably the sucking

  • @HungPastor

Cause this song is the titties

  • @HungPastor LOL its not related just means people who watched this also watched that video lol

  • @HungPastor Metalliaboobies ?

  • @HungPastor thats james first baby lolz hahaha

  • @HungPastor "Sucking My Love"

  • @HungPastor Why the hell does this have 108 likes....

  • @HungPastor gives the same pleasure i guess : l

  • @HungPastor dude I don't know i also was like WTFH??

  • @HungPastor i think its because of the amount of tits metallica got to see after they practiced enough?

  • @mojoejoejoe666

Listen to the solos in the song "holy wars" and you might change your mind.

  • great bass tone, really loved it

  • James is trying to sing like Nick Tart of Diamond Head.

  • man! daves rhytmplaying really sucks. unbelievable how he improved within a year.

  • @HyperJN I know in one of their original demos that james did all the guitars and bass.

  • Was james playing guitar this time ?

  • @SuperFl0P no i dont think so

  • @SuperFl0P isn't this tape only james playing guitar? I know the original recording is only james playing

  • you guys are fuckin idiots this is mustaine singing

  • @Jeeriosthedrummer

Dave Mustaine NEVER, EVER sang lead vocals for Metallica. NEVER.

This is back when James was trying to sing like the guy from Diamond Head. Read your Metallica history and then call yourself a moron.

  • @bigbadbass3

    Metallica concert 1982 - 10 - 18 . it's Mustaine singing.

  • @DonLduk

Nope, it is not. He never sang in Metallica, except for maybe backing vocals. Compare it to any other recording of the band from that era. James was trying to emulate to vocal styles of Diamond Head, Judas Priest and the like. It was before he really found his own identity as a singer. Get a meet and greet pass and ask either of them yourself. Not trying to fight, just stating what I know to be true.

  • @Jeeriosthedrummer you fucking idiot DAVE NEVER FUCKING SANG FOR METALLICA YOU STUPID FUCKING TROLL

  • @Jeeriosthedrummer No mustaine only wrote most of Kill Em' All

    But he never sang!!

  • @Kaplovsgab1 he helped write four of ten songs. Look it up I would hardly call that the whole album.

  • @bigtbake61 I've looked it up online in five places. On Kill 'em, Mustaine wrote for Metal Militia, THe Four Horsemen(mechanix), Jump in the Fire, and Phantom Lord. Also, don't quote me on this but besides Pulling Teeth, those songs that Mustaine contributed to on Kill em All are the least played songs on tour. Every time Metallica plays a song he helped write they have to pay him money. So, they don't play them as often as the others.

  • @bigtbake61 they played phantom lord when i saw them in october in charlotte and dedicated it to Ron McGovney. who was there that night. sweet!

  • @bigtbake61 is that true? because those songs are fucking BADASS. shame

  • @Kaplovsgab1 Dave didn't write that much, it was mostly Lars and James

  • Rare

  • wow Lars and james were both shit back then... good theing they improved when they recorded kill em all

  • Wow, McGoveney (spelling?) was an amazing bass player! Damn you Dave for putting him off music making with Metallica! And also, damn you Dave for being an awesome guitarist! Onlt bad thing is the two current members, actually. Sloppy Lars, and very strange sounding James. Quality's not bad for a cassete, either.

  • I am Die Hard fan ... :)

  • hey hey hey hey, stop argue ! when we all have band good an` suceffull like these, an be this great players, we can shit then.... but now....dont... just listen, an` keep your thoughts for yourselves :)))

  • Why are you guys such traitors? I think dave killed this song. But I also like kirks guitar playing. I cant really choose which one is better.

  • i like old metallica stuff !!!!!

  • kirk sucks ass

    HAIL DAVE MUSTAINE

  • there new stuff is too much like ...Justice, imo...I'd prefer some shorter songs here and there.

  • too bad Mustaine is better than Kirk, and thats coming from a hardcore Metallica fan

  • @SasquatchMan118 so true dave is amazing that rust in peace album just says it all

  • @SasquatchMan118

Better how? As a rhythm player, yes. As a songwriter, absolutely. But as a lead player, no... but that doesn't say much of Kirk Hammett!

  • @SasquatchMan118 ........if dts wt u say as a metallica fan.......man go to hell!

  • @SasquatchMan118 I was gonna write exactly the same thing you did

  • @SasquatchMan118 Too bad they're both great in their own ways. Kirk is amazing, his solo's are amazing. But dave writes better riffs. His riffs are always kick ass, but Kirk's solo's are better.

  • @SasquatchMan118

    BULLSHIT!

  • @megarichard420 great reasoning dumbass. I never said Kirk was bad

  • @SasquatchMan118 Disagree.

  • @SasquatchMan118 both are good. i prefered old kirk's solos over the new ones, the new ones are only wah wah bullshit. dave still has that old style i really like

  • @SasquatchMan118 At song and riff writing yes, but as a lead player?... Idk that is tough to call.

  • <3 metallica i seen them twice alredy

  • @guitarist8688

Jason Newsted is and always be the best

  • wow rob is pretty dam good

    but cliff is better

  • This is pretty cool. Proves that every good band starts in a garage.

  • Even Mustaine has improved vastly, if u look at this demo and compare it with his later works. His solo here is not really good !

  • Lloyd Grant Played before Dave! But Dave was and always will be the best guitarist for Metallica! Kirk is cool to, but dave is just best! and Cliff the Best Bass Player! Rip Cliff!

  • lol, How far they've come, from a decent garage band to the biggest and (one of) the most influential Metal bands of all time.

James' voice REALLY improved over the course of ten years (1982 to 1992), where he was at his vocal peak (imo).

  • @guitarist8688 I agree mate!

  • James can't sing here.

  • I'm only listening for dave

  • This is what Metallica is to me. Not power ballads, not bluesy shit, just plain old thrash with a real punk overtone.

  • @ JBPURCELL

Metallica was influenced by blues bands, you know? Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, even Judas Priest and Iron Maiden were heavily influenced by blues.

And this was even before their prog and hardcore punk influence that came from Cliff.

  • they were also influenced by the misfits

  • That's my bad, blues wasn't the right word to describe their newer work. I think a better word is shit.

  • I could see someone saying that about their previous 2 albums before 'DM', I thought each had good tracks but can see it. However, if you thought their latest album is 'shit' then I'd advise you to get back to those Britney Spears and Jonas Brothers tracks you probably have on your ipod...

  • Nah, Death Magnetic was pretty good.

  • Death Magnetic wasnt really bad, as it was the whole band trying to hard to sound like they were all 25 again. It wasnt what it could have been because they were so focused on appeasing the fans and attempting thrash again. At that they failed, miserably.

  • WTF are you talking about? PERHAPS you can say that about ReLoad or St. Anger, but really even on those albums it was about doing whatever shit they felt right to them AT THAT TIME. How the hell can they be appeasing fans by 'attempting thrash again' when THEY PRETTY MUCH INVENTED THRASH WITH KILL 'EM ALL??? I happen to love Megadeth and thrash in general, but saying that Metallica failed on their last album because THEY RETURNED TO A STYLE THEY HELP DEFINE - WELL YOUR COMMENT FAILED, MISERABLY!

  • They 'helped to invent' it in the early 80s when they could because they were like 20, and there was dozens of thrash bands before they even recorded No Life Till Leather. The Big Four just popularized the genre they didnt start it. But back to the point. Death Magnetic is a tolerable album, a step up from the 90s and St Anger definitley, but its a clusterfuck of 50 year olds trying to sound 20 again. Its not going to happen, it cant happen, and it didnt happen. Please, be civil.

  • OK, I think I get it. Metallica at this point should be recording 'polka music', is that it? They are 50 and shouldn't even attempt to make an album like they have through their first 4. They should be doing Kenny G songs, right?

Why should their ages matter, I'd be pissed if they did another twangy ReLoad, the fact that they went back to their roots and recorded a more 'thrashy' album is great!

BTW, even at 50, they still kick ass. They are as sharp and musically proficient as ever.

  • Thats not what im saying at all, youre an idiot. Im going to cite everyones favorite band here as an exmaple: Megadeth, look at Endgame. Actually United Abominations was better so I should use that example, Dave is still making metal but hes not trying to relive the 80s. Metallica was trying to remake Master of Puppets. In Death Magnetic its not so much their age holding them back but the fact that theyre trying way to hard, and it shows.

  • OK I'm the idiot when you are the one here that is passing judgment as to what a band 'should' sound like? Good god you are making a fool of yourself trying to justify how Metallica is wrong in 'trying to relive the 80s'. They apparently must only make songs that blavaburnulots approves of...

You simply are trying to bash Metallica with whatever stick you can use to hit them with. They sound too young, do they? Well, if DM was too young, then I'll take them in diapers if it means no ReLoad2...
