I spent 2 years trying to fix that, so finally i decided to take a leap of faith and managed to flash the bios. IT TOOK FUCKING 5 SECONDS TO FIX THE PROBLEM >_<

To sie nazywają artefakty kolego. Wątpie aby to byl jakis ,,bug biosu karty,, - o ile takie cos wogole istnieje. Radeon hd4870 to zły wybór, szczególnie używany, raz kupilem i zaraz sprzedalem, bo to co u mnie sie dzialo to poprosu tragedia. Jezeli "jak w niecale 30 sekund rozpieprzylem GTA: SA" to masz chyba na mysli, że grzebałes w folderach gry, bo wątpie aby rozpieprzenie gta wiązało się z grzebaniem w biosie karty :)

Po pierwsze: karte kupiłem jakoś rok temu jako nówkę sztukę prosto ze sklepu.

Po drugie skoro, to nie bug biosu, to czemu Sapphire wypuścił nowy bios akurat do tej wersji i do tego modelu karty?

Po trzecie po zmianie na nowszą wersje biosu wszelkie problemy jak ręką odjął. Jednym słowem wina biosu, a nie wina gry, przegrzania, voltowania i innych bzdur, które tutaj wielu wypisywało...

@rafas03 Ja nie moge, co z tego ze wypuscili nowy bios?? To tak jak z daną płytą główną, najpierw jest 1,0v to potem 1,2v itp. Jak by to była wina biosu, to takie zjawisko mialbyś nie tylko w gta, a takze w innej aplikacji czy nawet na pulpicie. Z mojego doswiadczenia, uszkodzony bios wiąże się wogole z nie włączaniem się karty, co skutkuje czarnym ekranem po wcisnieciu przycisku Power. Pozdrawiam :)

@Brugiss36 ale to nie bylo uszkodzenie biosu tylko błąd. Jakis jeden drobny błąd, ktory powodował w GTA: SA takie cuda. Zreszta GTA: SA tez nie bylo pozbawione błedów (a działało). Jesli dobrze pamietam, to w Counter Strike 1.6 też potrafilo mi wysypać grę na poprzednim fw karty graficznej. Reasusumaja bios/fimrware karty nie był uszkodzony tylko mial jakis blad w ustawieniach.

@Brugiss36 Dla potwierdzenia tego przejrzyj komentarze pod moim filmem. Wsrod komenatrzy znajdziesz maly tutorial w jaki sposob poradzić sobie z tym problemem bez zmiany biosu karty. Wystarczylo tylko pozmieniać ustawienia parametrów dla działania karty w trybie 2D i 3D czyli powerplay. I juz bylo ok. Nowy bios najwyrazniej te przypadłość skorygował trwale.

Wow this is exactly the problem I have with my Sapphire 4870! I thought it was just random overheating but I guess it was actually a problem with the card's BIOS. I was getting so frustrated with this problem that I was planning to get a 5850 or something just to resolve this issue.

I just downloaded ATI Tray Tools, set my speeds to 750/900 and voltage to 1,203

Played over an hour w/o a crash. Never achieved that with a game that causes freezes. More testing to do ! :)

I know the problem it should be the videocard. it is overheated l had the same problem because l overclocked my videocard to much with the stock coling so l upgraded it and it never happend again. Have you overclocked your video card and does this happen with every game ofter a while ?

hey that happen because you over clock the video card if you use riva tuner you can overclock it to 800 gpu and 1010 the memory

This happened at default clock. It was bug of sapphire bios. Update fixed problems.

Ok mine seems to be working though i only played for about 15 mins, IF your gfx card works on different games like crysis etc. then ur card is ok

install 8.12, new gta 4 patch, install the new bios flash 4 sapphire, during gameplay as soon as it loaded i pressed Ctrl and ESCAPE then loaded the game backup and it seems to be working or at least its working longer b4 it crashed after a minute or 2, so far so good

@igor: the first time i started the pc after setting the Hz to 750, i had to reset it to 750, cause it was turned back to 500...

Tomorrow, when I started the pc, it was automatically set to 750, I don't know why...

Ok so I have the same card and it works well, but wen I messd with ati overdirve and used auto-tune(auto-tune decided that for my system, the gpu clock to 820 and memoru clock to 1150, are fine) it workd fine in 3dmark06 and in other programs but when I tried to play (let's say oblivion)it crashed after 1 min. So i put my card to stok setings(GPU clock 750, memory clock 900) ad guess what:) it didnt crash any more. So if u oveclocked your card just a little bit this might be the problem;).

Battlefied 2, Battlefield 2042, Need for Speed Underground 2 works good - no crash, no artefacts or black screens.

Benchmarks 3DMark 03, 05, 06, FurMark 1.4 no problems.
