@Barbaraplease I was being flippant, thanks for noticing. Anything with cute guys in a stylised landscape is genet. i was remarking on how cliche it is, if this is new queers from the 90's id rather watch derek jarman any day (from the 70's/80's), or kenneth anger (60's) or guy maddin, post 2000, and whats "queer cinema" anymore? does that even mean anything? yawn. Its hardly"groundbreaking" this looks like a bunch of fags with too much time and money on their hands treading well tilled ground
@Barbaraplease wow. you really know how to put a damper on things. because i dont know you and because your comment was so succinct, i did not catch the sarcasm in your original comment. you may prefer to watch anger or maddin etc...but that wasnt my point. my comment was meant to encourage someone to watch the film and understand that the early 90's were an important time not only in film but specifically queer cinema.
@Barbaraplease films like poison opened the floodgates for a lot of great work. "queer cinema" may in fact not mean anything today, but that wasnt my point. lighten up love. ps- doesnt even sound like youve seen poison in its entirety.

@xxtiaan yes, this film is heavily influenced by Genet. this is a landmark film of the New Queer Cinema of the early 90's. groundbreaking.
