thanks. my first garage band song in 196?. we played it at a fundraiser for a repub. senatorial candidate, George Murphy. (another actor-no surprise)in 66' or 68' in Atherton , CA. Hoagy Carmichael was there, played georgia on the piano for me! at least that s the way i remember it.. I ll bet he wasnt impressed (with our band, not the song)

i heard the best "lounge" version from a fellow canadian, Tess, here in Germany. she did a real jazzy, very loosely interpreted, very creative, personal version. loved it.. i think she s gone back to canada. if you see her(what are the odds?lol) say hello from mark in frankfurt.

He has a one of a kind voice. In all the years that I've been alive (well, after I was about 5 or six) I have yet to hear anyone that sounds like him. I guess that when God crafted his voice box, he broke the mold and threw the debris into the trash:)
