Make sure the next TR you build has an Ultimate Art Carr 200 4r in it. People have taken them in the low 9's and should be plenty reliable for low 11's.
god damm i gotta turbo-t it runs like a champ, you gotta have these types of cars tuned perfectly to perform,i got the gauges and all the 21st century shit under my hood and my advice is to try a higher stall if you want your turbo to spoool quicker,re-build that motor too bro, your turbo isnt the car the turbo gives your motor the ability to give you torque,oh and imports can eat a dick
@datachristophari Yeah I know. They're tough to tune. I had a Vigilante 5-disc converter in it, FAST engine management, a bullet-proof rebuild and all the fun stuff on that car. I had it dialed in right, but the trans couldn't hold 3rd gear after several rebuilds by a "professional". It ran low-11s with 3rd gear slipping for about half the track. I got frustrated with it and sold it a couple of years ago. I might get another one some day...
@DSM4LIFE20g Why? Because of the "sneeze". It doesn't hurt it. It doesn't make the turbo spin backwards, or hammer out the bearings, or anything else. The BOVs are really just to keep the turbo spinning on manual cars between shifts. The "sneeze" doesn't hurt them. My original turbo had over 100k miles when I took it off, and the only reason I replaced it was for a bigger one. I never had a turbo go bad on that car.
@boost4fun yeah it does dude, i had a evo III 16g turbo back then and i had the fluttering BOV cuz it sounds sick, how ever it ruins your bearings in the turbo, my turbo got shot from setting up the BOV to flutter, putting way to much stress on the turbo. but dont worry u willl find out for your self i dont need to explain it to you
@boost4fun no because fluttering your bov ruins your turbo dude, i did the exact same thing with my evo III 16g turbo, and it premature wear on the bearing and my turbo was gone, all because i wanted that kick ass sound buts cool you will learn on your own not to make your bov flutter.
@DSM4LIFE20g Your turbo died because you bought cheap chinese shit, almost all the EVOIII 16G's are garbage chinese knock offs, I've had a set of real quality turbos, spent a thousand on each turbo, not 300 dollars, and i can flutter them, boost hard as i want, little as i want and they hold up because they aren't crap, and I run them in a car making a WHOLE lot more boost than these single turbo 4 cylinders
@cskater18 No, they keep the turbo from slowing down between gears by venting the pressure that would otherwise slow it down when the throttle slams shut. Do you want a turbo to keep spinning or stop spinning (hint: when it's spinning, it's making boost).
@Thesnipelock Yep, that's where I thought I'd give it a bit more throttle. I wanted to keep it out of the woods so I didn't go WOT, but that car did have some crazy power. You had to wait a few seconds while the turbo spooled, but when it did you had to hold on for dear life.
