when i got to the door at the end of the level i fell through a tube and there was a circle of light and i went through and i fell and fell and fell then it said i lost and i had to restart and the same thing happend could someone help me?
making a game thats not related to Star Wars was a big step by Lucasarts, and I think its awesome. The plot could be more intense, but at least its not too complicated.
A few of the Pacifican weapons are organically grown at least (as stated by the official website) as well as their armor and dropships.
But they didn't expand on the whole "technological progression" conflict as well as they should seeing as they focused on one side's shallow point of view, so that leaves a LOT of faction-specific things open.
There's a lot of improvement to be made if they're going to make separating paths. Too bad they're not going to make a remake anytime soon.
I chuckled at the "Same old Lawrence...always looking over my shoulder." line.
That's...kinda what the player's doing.
That aside, I think the game has good action and is a decent shooter, but they could've made a much more interesting plot. The global warming and modification thing was an excellent base, but they chose to make one side blatantly evil and that kind of messes up the "Who's right" part of the appeal.
Indeed. The backstory is good but the whole "technological progression" conflict needs to be expanded upon even more in this game as opposed to just having the main story in pure black and white; hell I leaned more with the Pacificans and their genetics than the cybernetic Eastern US.
At least they should make two separate storylines where you can play as a cyber Atlantic or genetic Pacific character.
Genetics might have actually made more sense in the face of surviving global warming, to be honest. In a modified human, modified traits will stay with the person and heal back when damaged, whereas technology can break and resources must be burned to repair it. The human body will probably be much more efficient in this regard anyways.
Hell yeah the Pacificans are going green and saving the earth hehe XD
Yeah genetics would be waayy more economically sound, especially in the military where attrition and combat losses won't affect it nearly as much as a military with wholly cybernetic & robotic parts, and it also wouldn't have some vulnerabilities to things like EMP or random equipment breakdown.
eh, Pacifica should've been the overall victors in the war.
@WarhawkDrier bullcrap. in the year 2161 we will most likely have no need for any fuel or resources to power our modifications and technology. and as we discover new materials, we will invent better and sturdier metals for constructing and protecting devices. so basically what im saying is that in the future our technology will be near indestructible and will require no power or fuel. not to mention that cybernetics can make us stronger, faster, and smarter than genetics ever would.
Conservation of energy states otherwise. If you want work to be done, you must expend something. It is possible to have something extremely efficient, but at least some energy is always lost as heat. I didn't mean that the body didn't use energy at all; it's just that it's been fine-tuned over millions of years and can make use of many different sources of energy.
As for indestructibility, I'll give you that the human body will probably never be as strong as what can be manufactured. However, nothing is ever indestructible, and those things that are usually require long and arduous processes to create, consuming energy in the process.
It's a pretty complex issue, I guess. Shame that they didn't expand upon it in the game itself.

True, true.... *sigh*
You got me there.

...Though, to be honest, I'm surprised there were no robots. Or more heavily mutated people. Or organic weapons, even.
I'd say that the whole separating-paths thing only plays out in this intro and the art design. >>
