great video! please add more? I'd like to learn as much as possible concerning what it takes to work my way into the right seat there, and what the job itself is like. Thanks:)
Hey Bryan im in flyigh training working on Instrument rightnow. I was just wondering if it's all the worth the struggle money and the money it cost. I know the airlines are not hiring and the pay is horrible right now. Being a professional pilot is what i want to do anyways any advice would help
the job sucks. but if it's what you want to do then go for it. but I'm here to tell you that you will have no life at least until you're able to get a job at a major which will be 5 to 10 years down the road AFTER you find a job at a regional. So in reality you won't be living the life until later in life.
@ejuoi just about every airline or future airline pilot has to go though skywest or some regional to build more hours or atleast get payed and like u said, u will not be livin the life untill the legit airlines. its shitty if you love the emb 120 or crj like me, and the pays bad, but thats life
Great video! I'm working at Skywest right now as an SFO Gate Agent to pay for the rest of my flight training, I love the airline and hope to meet their mins when they start hiring again.
this video is one of the best ive seen! i want to fly for delta, but im only 17. Im planning on going to UND for aviation and getting my ratings there...the delta northwest merger is going to be awesome! i cant wait to fly the heavies!
saw some discussion on FS2004 or FSX below, and the RJ. I'm an experienced simmer, and have Wilco's CRJ-200, 700,& 900 aftermarket.
great look and modeling. it has the Collins's 4200 FMS CDU in it. it was my first foray into FMS as just a FLight Simmer ( non-pilot, but i should be! lol) very cool to
learn, although it is not a %100 working model. many features "Non-Op". but you can
do some Lat/Long stuff, Orig-to-Dest FP page,
waypoints, etc...and it will paste on the MFD and fly. very cool.
Amazing vid, i could tell i was gonna like it within the first 10 seconds! I'm just a 14 year old, And I was wondering If you have a simulator like FSX, FS2004 or X-plane, how the realism compares to those of a real aircraft such as the CRJ? thanks for posting this vid, I'm going to tell folks about it nice job and have a good 2008!
i've never played the FS2004 sim with the CRJ..i imagine if you download it the cockpit will be exactly the same..but the FMS is fairly complex and i don't know if the computer game will have it..you can prolly buy a real expensive simulator CRJ with the right fms and stuff..but you could prolly get the right cockpit..glad you liked the video..there will be more coming in a few weeks
about 2 years..salt lake is my base..and i'm working on many more videos..hopefully it'll make more people want to come to skywest, its a great company

The Skywest CRJ-800s are so cool and shinny I want to wear a skywest bomber jacket in the cockpit too when I grow up.

Hey just to let you know the FAA is taking names of videos made in the cockpit and posted on YouTube.
yeahser 3 years ago
no they are not. You can take pictures and videos in the cockpit as long as you don't violate the sterile cockpit rule and are not a relief pilot.

What happend to all electronic devices must be stowed for takeoff and landing? I heard some guys are getting violated by the faa.
