  • What is he talking about a black Greek? You see he shouldn't call the video black Greek whatever because people are gonna think he is talking about people who are HALF BLACK and HALF GREEK. I mean I only went to this video because I thought he was talking about being half black and half Greek. I mean I'm Greek-3; so yeah

  • SCHORTSANITIS !!!!

  • @arcotroll xaxaxaxa kalo!

  • Great Teeth

  • Where in Greece are you from ?

  • oti na nai omws\

  • Guys, he's not talking about his fucking ethnicity. He is talking about GREEK ORGANIZATIONS IN COLLEGE. If you would listen to the damn video you guys wouldn't be so confused.

  • @wannabestarinsomthin And what makes those organizations Greek? yeah, um... nothing.

  • @wannabestarinsomthin Also you can't call yourself Greek just because you join a fraternity.

  • ΘΑ ΜΑΣ ΤΡΕΛΑΝΟΥΝ ΠΑΙΔΙΑ

  • Black people who live in Greece they speak better Greek than Greeks themeselves :)

  • One reason I would never join a frat: HAZING

  • @Auckletonline its called a book . yu should picked one up sometime .. they're in a big building called a library :)

  • @Auckletonline hahaha psixremiaaaa , o tipos milaei gia tis foititikes adelfotites .

  • Ooooooh, I thought it said ''Black Geek''... Why the heck did I click on this?

  • yall are so dumb. black greek --> d9.

  • forreal you guy's need a new term other than black greek. i could give you a few ideas :D

  • what is a Greek organization? do you mean Greek the nationality?

  • @TheBellocazzo No he means being Greek as in Greek organizations as in Fraternities/Sororities

  • @tbsosnj mm interesting--why did an organization take the name of a nation and has Greek letter as it's logo...I really find it fascinating ....

  • @tbsosnj how does that make him greek?

  • You say "um" a lot man. Other than that thanks for the video!

  • i'm mad that the term "black greek" is a reference to a fraternity instead of people of black/african descent living in or born in greece. you need to say "black greek fraternity" as a whole to clear up confusion.

  • it is known that the greeks went into africa and stole & raped the nation .. most of their language is derived from that of egypt . so in a way , by using greek letters , they are actually staying true to their african roots :)

  • @jasiebabee Are you retarded?

  • @androume no , i actually have an IQ of 173 and got a 31 on the ACT so , no i am not in fact mentally incapable .. yu must be by using such a derogatory word to describe the mentally handicapped .

  • @jasiebabee you IQ, really only means the capicity to learn right and how much knowledge you can retain, hopefully you might have retained enough knowledge to come up with a "politically correct" for black greek. :D

  • @AnthonytheTBaggers it is politically correct . black greek letter organizations . now why would they wanna say that long ass title when they can say black greeks ? the black community knows what they're talking about , you're the only one confused .

  • @jasiebabee this anthony T Baggers is an ignorant asshole

  • @jasiebabee seriously,,... even with what u said, how would greeks tbagging africa give them africian roots, and the form of greek spoken at the time had changed soo much it no longer had any connections from any native languages spoekn in africa, the greeks gave people words and even written lang's for other countrys who hadnt delvoped one yet. thats how the russian slovic lang's got their written alfabet, . all our english words for grammar (gramatiki ) are greek.

  • @AnthonytheTBaggers and yu just proved my point .. thank yu :)

  • @jasiebabee and btw... greeks didnt steal anything from africa, other than that punani! and left bastard children in africa. and if you mean alexander the great..hes from macedonia, and he only went to egypt.many many years later the othrodox church went to ethopia.yea, yes, bible was writtin in GREEK! jesus preached in greek, the trade language of the day, just as people modled their civilazation of the hellenic(greek) culture.

  • @AnthonytheTBaggers how do yu know what they stole ? were yu there ? okay .

  • @jasiebabee no, but you wernt either, and the book your getting your information is written in english in the later 1900's.. its like reading the bible in english... all the meanings were lost since ur not reaing it "στα Ελληνικά και από ελληνική ή από μια ελληνική βιβλίο" remember, aswell you have to remember, greece is made up of many diffrent "city states" and regions or districts..so... who exactly are you saying went to africa? which greeks?

  • @jasiebabee , now, just so you know, the greek alphabet was based off the phoenecian alphabet. from the middle east... not "african" your ancestors at the time were either in a jungle, or possible in egypt. now. fast forward, 400 bc-300bc the egyptians took the modified GREEK ALPHABET~! and added around half a dozen letters, what happend during that time, i donno MAYBE ALEXANDER THE GREAT! ;) get ur history right sweetheart.

  • It's pretty clear that some people have no Idea what a "Black Greek" really is, (they likely got to this video by accident) and put their foot in their mouths by speaking before they eventually realized that he was speaking about BGLO frats and sororities. For the sake of not being "that guy", please listen to what the man is saying before making such ignorant comments. Oh and for the Grecians who were sooo offended by the term "Black Greek" that you had to make racially charged comments, FU2 :)

  • @hitskwaad grecian would be what you describe something in the style of greece, dumbass," the GREEKS who were soooo offended" is what you mean ;) we know what Black greek IS and we know what you guys THINK it is. then again, this conversation is pointless.. its like me trying to explain to this black lady she used the wrong form of "love" in greek for a sign he was having made! tried explaining to her its not me but other peopl will be critical of this you live near a big greek community!

  • 2:55-3:20.. Best Advice.. if You Are LAME Before the Letter across ur chest. .YOU are LAME AFTER...... but if You are GREAT Before, You are Great After..... the Letters Dont Make You Rich or Famous........... some cant Handle Alphabets across their CHEST!!

  • @Francojacko LOL word. lame niggas think they get more hoes with letters.

  • Any relation with Black Russian?

  • @panarkas any relation to other bigots?

  • a black greek? wow

  • @ilivudi as in fraternity or sororities and for the record...yes there are BLACK GREEKS as in the NATIONALITY. Welcome to 2011.

  • Next time you put something out Make notes. You gave the opinion of a drunk uncle at a BBQ. You was just talking to be talking.

  • I'm Black and this country hazes me and my people everyday so why should we divide ourselves and punish ourselves to be "greek"...it's bullshit...

  • Hes a Kappa

  • i am black chinese lolololololol

  • Love to see a brother keeping it real.

  • Some people actually make their org look bad. Black greeks weren't founded upon strolling, hating on each other. Maybe if the people would actually start doing their purpose people wouldn't have to bash BGLOs. I've seen BGLOs and some people in it make it look bad. If their founders seen whats going on today, they would tuurn over in their graves.

  • There's advantages and disadvantages of being in a BGLO. But, most people see the disadvantages, they dont see the advantage of being in an org. Some people only get in it for the fame, to be known for a couple years on campus. Some don't want to better their org, they just want to step, stroll hook up with someone. They don't want to do their purpose.

  • Theirs no advantages 2 any black person bening n any greek org,if u overstand greek history, they were homosexual, gays, fags!!!,so wats greek about u black man/woman?

  • ur cute

  • Being a black greek makes about as much sense as putting up your Christmas tree the day after Christmas.

  • Yes, there are sterotypes but most of them are true. Members of black sororities and fraternities can be nasty and rude. Sad but true. We also have many members who make the sorority or fraternity their world. They get caught up, especially in undergrad, in negative thing especially sex among the GLOs and backbiting and bickering. Frats fight with other frats, so things can be ugly. We need a revamp of who we are. The black GLOs have lost the true focus.

  • This is real ignorant from the start! I wouldn't hire a person because they are a member of my organization. I would hire them based on what they bring to the table. I can't stand when folks say this. Of this was the case we would never see unemployment!

  • @mrstexas777 Umm. If you were white you would. But because you so busy making sure you the only niggah on your job you look pass qualified candidates and hire a cracker because you think they have something better to bring to the table. By the way I'm not greek, but I hire Black because they bring things to the table that aint always on an application or stated in an interview. But Blacks so busy trying to be fair and that's why we are out of work.

  • if you observe the ancient greek statues ... they dont have the characteristics of the black people .... the ancient greek statues look like like europe people

... and here stop the dispute !

  • @marioorange - Actually not true. The statues have been carbon dated and most were re-created. Also, who would want to be a Greek anyway. The Greeks were Freaks, fags in drag, dick-lickers and bush monchers. Its messed up but true. Ive been to Greece and have personally observed the actual statues of Athenia, Persius, Hercules and others and they were very negroid to me...However for African-Americans to embrace the white version of the Greek system, they show they are brainwashed and idiots

  • @dukejah88

propably you need doctor for your eyes. there are statues that show negroid people from africa in statues.the statues that represent zeus athnina and ancient greek people they dont look like YOU :) haha.thanks god you don want to be greek BECAUSE me neither i would like to be negroid!

CONCLUSION: you make propagand about the black Greek cause never existed as a nation(neither in ancient greece ,neither in byzantine ,neither in modern greece the prooves are the statues and paints

  • @dukejah88

plus ... you talk like idiot .

  • Why would a black person wanna be greek ? Why not say Nubian, Egyptian, Mali, or Benin or something

  • @CerromeX I don't think you have a choice.

  • @CerromeX A black person calling his/herself "greek" is not a way of claiming greek heritage. Its in what these organizations stand for and their motives that make them valuable. If you research the of the organizations such as Alpha Phi Alpha, you will see that there was dispute over creating a fraternity name because clearly african americans are not greek. Notice that the greek orgs use egyptian artifacts/monuments as their symbols also.

  • @IVKingPin call your selves fat'/sor' brothers and sisters, its cool you use our letters but c'mon dude.and as a joke, thats like a white guy callin him self african cos he's endowded

  • i love your hair! :D

  • The only Black Greek I know is Sofoklis Schortsanitis

  • @oustreee

the only half greek half nigerian you know is sofoklis... his mother is nigerian...

  • Black greeks?? Oxymoron!!! LOOOOOOL hahahaha smh

  • He didn't really say shit. There were basically no disadvantages. He was biased because he didn't keep it real and say the real disadvantages, and he did sugar coat it by not saying what the stereotypes were. This whole thing was a big ass sugar coat so people would joim black Greek organizations. This is why the Greeks piss me off all around. They like to be so secretive and shit and then they basically lie to you like he just did. How about we say fuck being a Greek and just be you.

  • definitely liked the "just be something positive" part

  • I just want to thank you. I am currently a sophomore in college and have been exposed to the Greek Life and with your videos it has helped me think more about which sorority I would like to be in. I want to be in a sorority that I feel comfortable with and that people respect. I literally watched all 11 videos and took notes. So I pray that everything goes as scheduled for next semester. That way I can pledge second semester or summer.

  • u only listed 2 advantages: Network & social life

  • "If you wasnt a superstar before...you not finna be no superstar now" My dreams----> (deflated). But I do want the networking possibilities...

  • I really appreciate your video! Especially what you said closer to the end of 4:39-5:20 which was very insighful!

  • WHAT YOU PLEDGE?

  • "if you wasnt a superstar b4 u aint gone be no superstar now" # truth 3:09 - 3:13

  • Man what camera are you using its real clear

  • I would add one disadvantage... Hospitalization or DEATH by hazing: Southeast Missouri, Wayne State University, FAMU, Tennessee State etc... across all black fraternities. No advantage is woth that...

  • @TWN321 First off not every school has hazing issues you can't let that darkness overpower he good and beauty of the NPHC.you can let bad apple spoil all the postives

  • @dmvgogo Its ultimately about the risk vs. reward. Even if you don't consider hazing - which is indeed a MAJOR problem - The vast majority of pleges' grades plummet while on line. Grad chapter is a little different, but our young brothers and sisters should be pursuing their EDUCATION first; not risking thier education for the sake of a greek organization.

  • @TWN321 As a proud member of the illustrious Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. I cannot sit back while you totally distort what pledging a fraternity is all about. While it is true that there have been incidents of serious injury and even death and this has no place in Black Letter Greek Organizations, the incidents are few and far between in relation to the number of people who pledge BLGO's.

  • @TWN321 Now I'm not saying this to trivialize the seriousness of the tragedies which have occurred, what I'm stating is that the tone of your comment makes it sound like serious injury or death is pervasive in pledging BLGO's. I'm not justifying or trying to legitimize the practice of hazing but using your logic, there are many organizations and or recreational/athletic activities which we shouldn't participate in because of the risk of unintentional serious injury or death.

  • @TWN321 If you speak to or have an opportunity to read up on many of the African-American leaders/figures of our time (Langston Hughes, Dr. Martin Luther King, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Dorothy I. Height, Barbara Jordan, etc....) they have often stated that part of their intestinal fortitude came from experiences of their pledge process. Your viewpoint makes it all look negative.

  • @Dulcecomolacana Yes death isnt pervasive, but it happens, often due to deliberate beating of a pledge. Its not like an accidental byproduct of something with no purpose of inflicting hurt. Pledges get DELIBERATELY brutalized with a direct risk of injury. It does trivialize these tragedies to say they are few and far between. If ONE person dies from this process, Its too big a price to pay. I don't think frats are all bad; but the benefits are not worth ANYONE's death - not even one person.

  • @TWN321 First, what is your frame of reference? Did you pledge a fraternity? Did you witness a pledge process? If not then which fraternity's doctrine have you read which mandates the DELIBERATE BRUTALIZATION of it pledgees? It appears your theory is based on conjecture and suppostion yet you state it as if you've done some empirical study on the subject. Having said that, I do recognize that there is a problem and we are aggressively addressing the issue.

  • @TWN321 And you're correct in stating no person's death or serious injury is worth pledging a fraternity but as an outsider, you're not in a position to state as a fact, the doctrine or practices of the pledge process. I'm not trying to be rude but in truth with the definition of "Ignorance" being a " lack of knowledge, education, or awareness" I cannot put too much credence in a statement which is based on a personal lack of knowledge, education, or awareness.

  • @Dulcecomolacana My info comes from documented accounts of the injury/death that has come from pledging, and from people close to me who discussed some of what goes on. I don't have to be in it to know about it. Thats like saying i have to smoke crack to know its bad. Yes accidents happen elsewhere, but if every major organ of someones body is bruised, or kidneys are broken to the point of total failure, etc, that's not an 'accidental' result of anything innocent.

  • @Dulcecomolacana To be fair, there is power in a group of organized, educated, young black people uniting to uplift themselves and their community. It's why I considered pledging in undergrad. But if the intake process risks your health, and likely destroys your grades; the potential loss of health, and probable drop in grades is too much to ask a young black man who is supposed to be pursuing his education first. Those problems should be totally fixed before anyone is allowed to pledge.

  • @TWN321 just to throw it out there, Im not greek, but i must say, I'm told by my greek friends and family that the people who do haze, upon hospitalization or worse are the ones who have lost sight of what it means to even be in the organization to begin with..

  • @TWN321 WELL SAID

  • Comment removed

  • Your right. Stereotypes are a bummer!!!! And it sucks that people actually believe them. Idiots!

  • I agree with you but there are many more advantages. Mentorship by older members and mentoring the youth, learning the importance of giving back, learning leadership skills that will carry over into your professional life and when you take your membership to the next level and become active as an alumnae, you actually learn how to run an organization/a business and impact many in leadership roles. But you must stay dedicated through thick and thin and continue to be active after college.
