Go to ten high school productions of Guys and Dolls and in nine of them the leads will sing better than this. Love Simmons, love Brando, but they have no more business in these rolls than they would in Swan Lake.

Simmons (if it is indeed she singing) has a pleasant voice, but way too weak. Or maybe she was deliberately holding back to keep from leaving Brando too far behind. He's a great actor, but, as a singer, there's just no help for the man.

I really think for the film version of the musical they wanted more "actors" than "singers" anyways. Plus, if you look back to Sinatra's other film roles, he seems very type-cast as Nathan Detroit. Funny, charming, etc. With Sky, he needed to be much more...subtle. And more of a quiet sarcasm.
