This is simply shocking to me. I have had a stutter since I was a toddler, I am now 17. I have been through a speech class and it did help a lot, but then it came back pretty bad. It's not anything like it used to be, the only time it really shows is when I think about it, or i'm nervous, tired, or pissed off. other then that it doesn't show. In school I was always quite because of it, not because I was dumb, but it's embarrasing to not be able to say what you need to or what you want to say.
The effects of the speech easy device are not long lasting. Your brain starts to develop an immunity to the device after a year or so and it becomes useless. It's not worth the money.
People got angry at me when I said that I had a Speech Easy for sale.I would never try to scam anyone escpecially someone who needs the help that I did 3 years ago. Im sorry if I offended anyone but I just want to help because I know the feeling of doing anything possible to avoid talking. During a college course when the teacher went around the class for us to talk about our paper I actually hid in the bathroom the complete hour scared of going back in there.I promise you the speech easy works!

i have a similar stutter and found an app on itunes called DAF ASSISTANT, this works similar to the spech easy by delayed feedback in your ear, works very well while reading but yet to try it out at work etc, and for £6 its much more affordable, hope this helps???
Wow, you truly are an inspiration! It takes A LOT of guts to stutter on a public place like you tube. Thank you for showing us the difference with and without the device! You Rock!!!! :)
fuck dude i hate introducing myself. cops always think im fucked up. people think im slow. but im stoked i have an appointment to test out a speech easy. i do skate photography and fashion photography and im always meeting people and trying to yell out directions to no avail. i usually have to have a helper that already knows my ideas and thoughts. kinda blows. this speecheasy thing looks so damn legit though. im fucking stoked
please marc im about to buy it, does it really work? is it worth it? which speecheasy is better and do u advice me to buyy??? thanks a lot, i hope u reply
I have a speach easy and found it useful for about the first few weeks. Then it completely lost its use. It doesn't come near to what the creaters promise. I practiced a lot too. It was basically a waste of my money.
Nah once you've got it you've got it. In my own case I used to love reading aloud at school and taking part in reading plays but at the age of eight my father began to cram me for the 11+ exam (to get into a good secondary school) Any wrong answers to his math questions and he'd go berserk, no answer and he'd also go berserk. Speaking became a terrifying experience. I passed the 11+ and was given a ten shilling note (50p or 75 cents) My nerves and life were however ruined.
@lloydyyyyyy just to help Mr.Marc. The brain is mostly contralateral. The right ear actually connects to the left side of the brain and vice versa, so if your dumb theory is right, then it works just fine...
as fort the device repairing broken cells... WOW
@mrmarc345 u r too kind. I'd have handed this joker his ass!
@spyked1 I wish i could hand it to him, but it wouldn't really do any good to do that to somebody who is as incompetent as he is.....lol..i am not going to stoop to somebody's level like that.
@mrmarc345 "i am not going to stoop to somebody's level like that."Good man...
so is it still working? I read something about acclimatizing to the thing after a bit. I hope not, but what's your experience been so far? I stutter too but for some reason I can control it admirably... 'cept when i cant:))) bloody annoying.
@lloydyyyyyy From what I understand stutterers use the right side of their brain to think. But both ears would process sound using the same side of the brain I would think.
You should really do your research. It doesnt matter which ear the device goes into....The sounds go into both ears the same way. it has nothing to do with repairing broken cells in the brain either. This device is NOT fixing things that are broken, it is merely a tool to enhance fluency. I am not sure who you are, but i hope that you find time to actually figure out what you are going to say before you go around posting blasphemous comments..... wow
I realize these devices don't help everybody but it should be possible for people to obtain them, perhaps through some government insurance or something. The people who need them most may often be those who can least afford the cost.
Speach easy costs me 5 grand, i got the tipe u cannot see its clear and a clear tubish wire running into the ear. it works GREAT. At first i did have trouble with it and thought i was Ft out of 5 grand, after they adjust it to u, it works. any info message me
Wow the device is awesome....if you have an ipod touch, there is an app for only $10! that is just like this! but u just have to have the head phones w/a mic. at 1st i thought it was too much to pay until i saw the price for the other devices being sold. I actually dont stutter, but just found out i clutter, close to stuttering though not exactly. Still very frustrating though. If you have an ipodtouch or iphone u should try it out
DAF assistant - $10 in the app store. its worth a try!
there is a fixed price all over the world, but it is converted to your local currency, google speechEasy, or ask your pathologist i think its 3000$-5000$ according to what model you pick
the SpeechEasy shouldn't be so expensive! I want one but I dont have the money, I dont understand why the price isn't lowered so all stutteres can afford them and enjoy the benefits
Ive read thro all the comments, and see so much of me thro ur comments,
People think im shy. but im not. People think i dont know the answer, but i do, People think i could be dumb or retarded but im not, this is all cos i have a stutter,
having to ask someone for somethin is so hard to do,

as ur trying to say something and u see someone laugh or smile cos ur struggling isnt nice,

Hello im getting one, on february for free from my region, they are the only region in Sweden that give out speecheasy's to stutters for free, i support them i hope more countries to the same, because stuttering is hard, Basiclly i need to know if insurance companies covers it ?
hello marc! my name is olivier and i live in France. when you use speecheasy, it's extraordinary. you speak very good! i am a stammer too and my question is: since when you use speecheasy and do you think that it will be good for you during longtime? because i want to buy one but it cost 4500 euros cash here in france. the social security doesn't payback. but i will try it.
I managed to graduate from University with the problem (mostly by avoiding courses that involved active participation and presentations) but I plan on going back to do my MA...and since that requires more active participation...Im in need of solutions. Could you provide more information on the cost of this device? Who you went to, to get it fitted? Thanks!
I wish stuttering didn't exist. Why couldn't we be put on this earth to just talk normal and not get taunted because of our stutter? I stutter alot, and it's extremely embarressing when you can't even say you're name. :(
i totally feel ya...its a difficult life that nobody understands...i LOVE talking to people that stutter...i feel that we all have this initial close bond right from the start...it like a family almost..i love being inspired by other stutterers like myself and also to help inspire others...
Stutters' life is too difficult, boys or girls can't make a friend easily as it takes to death while you try to say "hello" or anything else. Some of them even suiciding not to feel such fucked up life. to protect the world of stutters , to give them help to come back into a real life Health organizations should to give this fucking devices as gift if this small thing could save a big world
its going ok....its difficult to use it in some situations...the most helpful is when i am in a stage protuction..its a huge help!! I would love to talk more about it if you would like
i totally understand what you are saying...its so difficult being a stutterer in this world...people dont understand that it is something that we have a hard time controlling...but you should NEVER let the stutter stop you from the things that you want to get across to others...it make take a little more time, but never let anyone say that what you want to say isnt important..
For christ sake- may as well be $10, 000 for a speecheasy.
The chance to get better from a device, and some cannot afford it.
I wanted a stuttering device like this for years- fat chance on trying to afford one.
Those sick and heartless SOB's are talking advantage of our desperation and misery to lessen our stuttering by charging an outrageous price we can't afford.
They should be shot and left for dead. That may sound cold and heartless, but not as much as the device sellers are
If the tables were turned and those sellers of the speecheasy stuttered and wanted a device themselves, I'm sure they would feel exactly the same way I do.
I'm sure sellers of the speecheasy would feel empathey and compassion for us if they stuttered as well, and they would make the price far more affordable if they knew what it was like to stutter and have their life verbally and socialy destroyed..
But NO- they don't give a rat's tail about how we suffer.
we should not rage out against others that simply dont understand (although it might feel like we want to...) we should educate them...my favorite thing to do is to sit down and down to people about my stutter...people really dont understand what it even is...give it a try...show they how when you sing...you dont stutter..show them that when you read with somebody else at the same time (choral effect) you dont stutter...its such a mysterious phenomena,..
@mrmarc345 It sure is mysterious. This is why I love to sing. I feel like the true Ronda then. Whenever I begin to talk about it, I want to cry. (Tearing up right now) ha. Not one day goes by that I don't think about stuttering and wishing that it would just go away. I'm thankful that it isn't worse but it's bad enouch. This devise should be given to those who need it and not just to those who can afford it...tsk..tsk. What a money hungry world we live in. I'll continue to suffer.....
@happy7117 yeh i know what you mean,i have a stammer and i cant afford this device,i would love one to get on with my life but how can they charge someone in need of this, its outrageous lol they should supply them free to stammerers or even put the cost down,i mean jesus chris you can buy a car with the cost of that little thing,it only repeats your voice back in a delay for god sake and they charge 5k for it, OUTRAGEOUS
@happy7117 it costs millions of dollars to develop the speech easy. Dont you think they should be compensated. And by the way the speech easy is just a brand name. Go to "stuttering.pro" its a url. IT helped me a lot. It is basically speech easy computer software!
For me, the hard part is calling on the phone, not receiving. Also starting conversations. Do these not work, or do they not work after a period of time?
Hi...I read on a website that speech easy device doesn't work in the same way when you initiate a conversationthat when you read... It's different.. Because a lot of people who stutter have problem to start to talk...
I have also noticed that, but thats when you use other tools of speech like throwing in a "hmm" "umm" or even just elongate the first sound of the sentence. But you are correct that if you are not able to get teh device started...it does not work in the way it is supposed to
the seech easy device is a little ear pieace that plants in your ear and when u speak u can hear yourself a 1sec later,it tricks the brain and that blocks out the stutter like 90%,amazing invention I WANT ONE BUT THE PRICE IS HORRIBLE HAHAAH,I THINK DOCTORS SHOULD GIVE THESE OUT TO PEOPLE WHO STUTTER SO THEY CAN GET ON WITH THERE LIVES HAPPY
Thanks for posting this!! Well done. I am 41 and a President of a company. I have stuttered my whole life although lessened it through the Hollins program. I have wondered about this device and your clip has inspired me to proceed. Thanks again and best of luck to you. Bill
I'm a stutter from Kauai, Hawaii and I just Moved to Sourthern California to attend College. My family has Beach Front Property in Pila'a, Kauai I got the first Speech Easy in the State of Hawaii. They paid for everything.
I apprechiate everything that they did for me. The only thing is that's it's so small. I LOST MINE..I got the device in Oahu and it cost $ 4,100.00
Great results, man. I'm glad it worked out for you.
I have a similair degree of stuttering, especially when pronouncing my name. I also gave the speech-easy device a try and gave up on it for a period of time, your video encouraged me to give it another shot- %95 improvement is more than worth it. Thanks for posting it.
It's good to know there are devices to help us, but it's a slap in a face to know they are outrageously priced, and therefore many who desperately need them, can't afford them.
so true....i know that most insurances dont cover the cost of the device....they might be starting scholarships for them though....and if not...THEY SHOULD!!
Thanks for posting man, you got a lot of soul and courage. I missed a lot of job opportunities due to my stuttering and to keep a long story short, I ran away from education. I was just terrified of getting in front of people. That alone made me quit college and find a job. While I regret not finishing college, I eventually found my speech easy and it's changed my life drastically. U rock man for posting this, inspirational to many I'm sure.
does your regular speech without the device get worse the more you use the device? since u become heavily relied on the device more and more?? because my speech is fine its just sometimes when im nervous or anxious thats when i tend to studder or certain words wont come out and i dont want my regular speech to get worse.
Hey marc, just wanted to wish you the best of luck with the Speech Easy. Are you currently in speech therapy? I am a graduate student in the speech therapy field and i'm always interested to hear peoples stories!
It cost about US$ 5000,00, as I know. There is a phonoaudiologist here in Brazil testing this device on her pacients. You could try to ask some doctor to request this device for testing.
You have to test it to know if it will be usefull for your case.
Marc. It IS amazing. But .... what would you feel like if it didn't work or broke down? I am of the thnking along the Stutter Talk line that one shouldn't avoid our stutters (either by our *tricks* or by devices) but just come clean with folks.
BTW. When you were reading without the SpeechEasy you seemed very relaxed and OK with your stutter. It would be good to hear from you about your feelings before the SpeechEasy.
i am so sorry not to reply sooner, i have been moving to school. If you go to teh speecheasy website, it will give you a list of distributors. I would highly reccomend looking into it. any other questions, just let me know.
Mark keep using the speech easy man!

Just show solidarity with people who share the same problem,
I used to be one of them, years and years of pratice, but still retain vestiges of stuttering when I express myself.
Even so, I live in Mexico, I work in Mexico,
can anyone imagine how someone like me could be able to afford this device?
"he cant. someone who generates each month 300dll cant."

Gotta be freaking kidding me...........
ranges from $4100 to $5100 depending on what model is most appropriate for ME?
So, theyre gonna meassure the size of my external auditory canal in the ear and decide the propel cost? or what.
Im really sure that the creative work team, electronic developers, sales management people, etc, all of them stuttering people for sure.

I wish stuttering didn't exist. Why couldn't we be put on this earth to just talk normal and not get taunted because of our stutter? I stutter alot, and it's extremely embarressing when you can't even say you're name. :(
McrFREAK0628 2 years ago
i totally feel ya...its a difficult life that nobody understands...i LOVE talking to people that stutter...i feel that we all have this initial close bond right from the start...it like a family almost..i love being inspired by other stutterers like myself and also to help inspire others...
mrmarc345 2 years ago
Stutters' life is too difficult, boys or girls can't make a friend easily as it takes to death while you try to say "hello" or anything else. Some of them even suiciding not to feel such fucked up life. to protect the world of stutters , to give them help to come back into a real life Health organizations should to give this fucking devices as gift if this small thing could save a big world
Mr44443333 2 years ago
I am agree with you that it could be $10,000. But to earn money on pain of stutters is a great sin.

kindle1085 2 years ago
its going ok....its difficult to use it in some situations...the most helpful is when i am in a stage protuction..its a huge help!! I would love to talk more about it if you would like
mrmarc345 2 years ago
speech easy...you can just google it...it actually cost 5000. but its worth it...
Good luck to you!!!
Jrivera01 2 years ago
it really is worth it to try...if it doesnt work for you...you can return the device...
mrmarc345 2 years ago
When you said you sounded like a different person..in a way you were right!!
You voice sounded the same, but you were a ton easier to understand due to less stumbling and blocks.
As long as you work with this miraculous helpfull speecheasy- you will make great gains each and every day!
And to us who don't have a DAF device like a speecheasy- may we try to talk as little as possible to avoid frusteration and humiliation!
happy7117 2 years ago
We want to talk so bad, but we don't want to feel angry, frusterated, and humiliated while doing so---!!
So playing the quiet type may not be because we are snobs or stuck-up. It's because it's too complicated to say what we want.
Our voice is bursting to be understood, but it's locked inside all that stuttering.
happy7117 2 years ago 14
i totally understand what you are saying...its so difficult being a stutterer in this world...people dont understand that it is something that we have a hard time controlling...but you should NEVER let the stutter stop you from the things that you want to get across to others...it make take a little more time, but never let anyone say that what you want to say isnt important..
mrmarc345 2 years ago
For christ sake- may as well be $10, 000 for a speecheasy.
The chance to get better from a device, and some cannot afford it.
I wanted a stuttering device like this for years- fat chance on trying to afford one.
Those sick and heartless SOB's are talking advantage of our desperation and misery to lessen our stuttering by charging an outrageous price we can't afford.
They should be shot and left for dead. That may sound cold and heartless, but not as much as the device sellers are
happy7117 2 years ago 5
If the tables were turned and those sellers of the speecheasy stuttered and wanted a device themselves, I'm sure they would feel exactly the same way I do.
I'm sure sellers of the speecheasy would feel empathey and compassion for us if they stuttered as well, and they would make the price far more affordable if they knew what it was like to stutter and have their life verbally and socialy destroyed..
But NO- they don't give a rat's tail about how we suffer.
happy7117 2 years ago
we should not rage out against others that simply dont understand (although it might feel like we want to...) we should educate them...my favorite thing to do is to sit down and down to people about my stutter...people really dont understand what it even is...give it a try...show they how when you sing...you dont stutter..show them that when you read with somebody else at the same time (choral effect) you dont stutter...its such a mysterious phenomena,..
mrmarc345 2 years ago 3
@mrmarc345 It sure is mysterious. This is why I love to sing. I feel like the true Ronda then. Whenever I begin to talk about it, I want to cry. (Tearing up right now) ha. Not one day goes by that I don't think about stuttering and wishing that it would just go away. I'm thankful that it isn't worse but it's bad enouch. This devise should be given to those who need it and not just to those who can afford it...tsk..tsk. What a money hungry world we live in. I'll continue to suffer.....
twinronda 1 year ago
I understand this Speecheasy thing is just basically a microphone and an earpiece.
With a little knowledge of electronics, you should be able to knock one together yourself for about $100!
cottonwhiskersuk 1 year ago
@happy7117 yeh i know what you mean,i have a stammer and i cant afford this device,i would love one to get on with my life but how can they charge someone in need of this, its outrageous lol they should supply them free to stammerers or even put the cost down,i mean jesus chris you can buy a car with the cost of that little thing,it only repeats your voice back in a delay for god sake and they charge 5k for it, OUTRAGEOUS
MrDancalvin1983 1 year ago
@happy7117 it costs millions of dollars to develop the speech easy. Dont you think they should be compensated. And by the way the speech easy is just a brand name. Go to "stuttering.pro" its a url. IT helped me a lot. It is basically speech easy computer software!

100% agree, they must have a HUGE profit margin

For me, the hard part is calling on the phone, not receiving. Also starting conversations. Do these not work, or do they not work after a period of time?
spjfrat 2 years ago
yer i hate talking on the phone to as i have a bad stutter too :(
UkTvShows 2 years ago
I detest talking on the phone. It's best to use email to avoid frusteration and humiliation from the phone.
I hate checking in with my parents because it's verbal hell as well.
Yet we can't avoide the phone either as it's part of life. If we can't use something, why use it at all.
I wish I could simply text people on a moments notice..
I honestly wish I knew sign language -that sure beats stuttering.
I probably could sign alot faster and easier than I can stutter / talk.
happy7117 2 years ago
Hi...I read on a website that speech easy device doesn't work in the same way when you initiate a conversationthat when you read... It's different.. Because a lot of people who stutter have problem to start to talk...
TangoOMuerte 2 years ago
I have also noticed that, but thats when you use other tools of speech like throwing in a "hmm" "umm" or even just elongate the first sound of the sentence. But you are correct that if you are not able to get teh device started...it does not work in the way it is supposed to

the seech easy device is a little ear pieace that plants in your ear and when u speak u can hear yourself a 1sec later,it tricks the brain and that blocks out the stutter like 90%,amazing invention I WANT ONE BUT THE PRICE IS HORRIBLE HAHAAH,I THINK DOCTORS SHOULD GIVE THESE OUT TO PEOPLE WHO STUTTER SO THEY CAN GET ON WITH THERE LIVES HAPPY
dancalvin1983 2 years ago 5
They should be giving out speecheasy's for free. Many stutterer's want a way out, and a device is sometimes the only way.
For people who can't afford a device, it is hell trying to talk.
happy7117 2 years ago 2

They have an app for iphone/ipod touch that works the same way as this thing does look it up on the app store "DAF assistant"
Ipod +headphones W/ mic + app = cheaper then $5000! It has a trial too.

Congratulations, and best wishes.

lazyman12812 2 years ago
I would love to have one of these speech easy things. Only problem is I can't afford to pay the 5K.
At least my own stutter isn't too bad so I can manage it fairly well.
Its nice to know that there is a device that can help out in the world now. Good luck with overcoming your stutter.
metalwolf72 3 years ago 4
Yeah that price is RIDICULOUS!!
vinny1010 3 years ago 3
It's good to know there are devices to help us, but it's a slap in a face to know they are outrageously priced, and therefore many who desperately need them, can't afford them.
happy7117 2 years ago
so true....i know that most insurances dont cover the cost of the device....they might be starting scholarships for them though....and if not...THEY SHOULD!!
mrmarc345 2 years ago
good man .. can you tell me how u have purchased it and which speech easy model you have..
blew198 3 years ago 2
Thanks for posting man, you got a lot of soul and courage. I missed a lot of job opportunities due to my stuttering and to keep a long story short, I ran away from education. I was just terrified of getting in front of people. That alone made me quit college and find a job. While I regret not finishing college, I eventually found my speech easy and it's changed my life drastically. U rock man for posting this, inspirational to many I'm sure.

Amazing, i'm from Brazil.
And i need this, soo i need check the prices.

I'm a moderate stutterer
Does it work when you have time pressure,in noisy backgrounds?
What type of damages can the device have?
What type of maintainance does the device usually needs and how many time in a year?
May I find a local audiologist for the maintainance such as cleaning up the filter or problem with the batteries since there are no agents in malta?
If the device needs spare parts how much it will cost you?
annalisesaliba 3 years ago
does your regular speech without the device get worse the more you use the device? since u become heavily relied on the device more and more?? because my speech is fine its just sometimes when im nervous or anxious thats when i tend to studder or certain words wont come out and i dont want my regular speech to get worse.

Hey marc, just wanted to wish you the best of luck with the Speech Easy. Are you currently in speech therapy? I am a graduate student in the speech therapy field and i'm always interested to hear peoples stories!

marc... does this work in nervous situations?? for example, ordering food in restaurants or answering questions??
mayorde18 3 years ago 4
i stutter too! How much does it cost? can u get them in austria?
kimonaked 3 years ago
It cost about US$ 5000,00, as I know. There is a phonoaudiologist here in Brazil testing this device on her pacients. You could try to ask some doctor to request this device for testing.
You have to test it to know if it will be usefull for your case.
fjdrums 3 years ago
Marc. It IS amazing. But .... what would you feel like if it didn't work or broke down? I am of the thnking along the Stutter Talk line that one shouldn't avoid our stutters (either by our *tricks* or by devices) but just come clean with folks.
1976Jonesy 3 years ago
BTW. When you were reading without the SpeechEasy you seemed very relaxed and OK with your stutter. It would be good to hear from you about your feelings before the SpeechEasy.

Good job...thanks for posting this....How is the long term effect of the device???
