  • fake

  • Waat kosj dae lommel?

  • Pfff, thats not build in the table, thats just a projector wich displays it onto the table.

  • omg if you could play snake on that it would be so cool :D

  • do u have any schematic diagram in this project? can u email it to me please?

  • you should project simple games on that thing

  • good job

    we need more

    thx

  • its a thin layer of wood. So who ever's wondering, thats sick buds.

  • I Agree! Its just a layer of wood with LED under it.

    LOL} :P

  • Nice!

  • its not in the table, its light from above

  • check the reply, it IS IN da table

  • Plywood can be extremely thin.

  • Light passes through anything that's thin enough.

  • how can light shine through glass???

    *rolls eyes*

  • my cats would go nuts!

  • haha! nice remark... I do have cats, and yes, they go nuts!

    Tnx, Menkesdriek

  • It would be neat if it were synced up to your computer and the table would let you know if you had messages, breaking news, etc.

  • I understand this is for Roy's van?

  • wow. it would be cool if you and a friend could plug in a couple left and right buttons so you guys could play pong on that thing. lol

  • This would make an awesome instructable

  • That was some gentle comedy dude

    lol

  • huh? what do you mean?

  • wah? wat do u mean gentle comedy its awesome idea to make it an instructable

  • i want to touch it lol

  • Nice SOOOO Nice

  • Nice table (and lamp video). How are you controlling the display?

  • nice effect...please check my project out

  • Well,to be honest you have to put it in a real world sitation(s) for it to be a real effect but oh well XD

  • if it isn't projecting then put something on the table

  • Gosh that is so cool!

  • now look what youve done.

now i want one. so i gotta have one now.

but to have one, i gotta build one.

but to build one i gotta ditch something else... anyway i can see where a few of my weekends gonna go now.

  • COOOOOOL

  • wat in hell is khn ??

  • Haha. Sweet.

  • KHN }

  • cool cool

  • Reminding you something?

  • fun

  • i RELI gotta buy 1 of these

  • Earth is flat, grass is blue and there live little people inside your tv-set...

I've seen this table in action, there is no beamer, laser or some other kind of projectiondevice used but leds. Grimton, why do you assume it's a hoax? Just because you've never seen it before? And yes tangoki, you can put leds in wood and make the light shine through. just a matter of makin the top layer thin enough.

  • ...and there live little people inside your tv-set...

    Is that truth?

    Anyway: I think it's a great artwork.

  • Ofc it's no led in tha table. why does ppl think it's so easy to fool other ppl?...

  • that asome

  • please check the daTable video response. same table, better movie

  • I got some questions:

1 was it a lot of work?

2 how much did the whole thing cost?

3 how much do you expect it to cost if you take it in production?

4 how will you put up to date data on the table like let's say news?

no offence enviromentalists but I think your discussion is out of place in here.

  • lol it is a laser uver the table

  • That's not LEDs - you can see the image wave as the laser passes over it to make up the image.

  • it's LEDs

top layer thin wood, but still strong enough to dance on.... the maker's secret aight...

check the other better movie i attached

    greetz, menkesdriek

  • u cant put LED's in wood. thats a projector or sumthin man

  • cool make me one :)

  • This table is what we'd like to call a peice of shit fake.. really nice lazers on the ceiling or something man... Nice try tho.. LED's cant go through hard wood u moron..

  • come on, you hit it with a laser or something. there are no leds in the table

  • piece of shit

  • Nice idea and execution. I'm sure it looks way cooler in person too.

Too bad there are so many idiots out there who clearly have very little technical expertise but do have a lot of time to tell you how your device is made! If you don't know what 'LED' stands for, maybe you shouldn't be posting about why this is a projector, dummy.

  • that looks like it might catch on fire lol

  • Da piece of crap! All venture capitalists please go to the next idea....waste of time here...

  • zzZZZ LOL

  • Yee!

That was a weeeeeiird table xD

  • It looks like a projection... LAME

  • no projection, i told you. why not trusting? take a look at the other movie, the reply. it's better...

  • dude thats nice better then the others i saw so far

  • Cool idea. It's not projection. Just look at the other videos from this user. jeese.

  • dude, to shut all those ppl that dont believe you, but your hand in front of it to prove there is no shadow. or just film around showing nothing

  • its looks like a projector is on top and is just displaying on the table

  • I smell a seizure in the making.........

  • Sweet table. If you post a new video of it, be sure to prove its not a projection

  • AWSOME....Someone pointed their projector to a table.....

  • Because its with a Beamer

  • nope, no beamer. LEDs shining THROUGH the top veneer layer. Costs some brightness. But still, quite shinig. Hell yeah.

  • it's not LED!LED lights are bright as hell it's somthing else just not LED lights.

  • Pretty awesome :)

    Full Hands up

  • Philips developed OLEDS integrated into soft fabrics to make cushions, pillows, furniture and even t-shirts with bright colour screens. It means that SMS messages for instances can be displayed in a pillow or advertising can displayed on clothes.

  • *proof its not a projection in the video response*

just watched it and thought i would enlighten you people.

  • to all you people who claim this is a projection... have you ever thought that maybe they used a thin enough screen and recessed it just enough into the table to make it look as though the wood itself is projecting the images? and if you don't think they have screens thin enough, then go look at some alarm clocks in a department store somewhere. at least vhs1983 knows.

  • you should put your hand over top of it and cast a shadow on the table to prove that it isnt a projection i mean just to clear up some confusion among the non believers

and show yourself doing it so they know no tricks

  • Surely this is projection. If it isn't I would love to know how it is done.

  • obviously a projection...

  • They have alarm clocks in a similar fashion; composed of wood and unnoticeable LEDs.

Why do you think it's a projection?

  • sure projection, who makes this vids?

  • so...because you dont understand the science....it cant be true? haha. ignorance.

  • thats the main problem with humans. We are scared of stuff we do not understand. When it comes to animals it is really true.

you make a good point on ignorance.

  • Very cool.

  • i want one... @_@

  • The table is way cool for a prototype. And how it pisses me off that practically everything on YouTube is sure to get a shitty comment from someone - regardless of what is shown. Get a life, or post something amazing yourself - that of course is completely flawless, in the best possible taste, and bullet proof for real!

  • ?????????

  • aloha 2

I will post a better video (but i just have a photocamera making shitty Quicktime movies) within the hour, in which, as Humanbeing suggested, my hand is put on the table. Made that vid some weeks ago, until then da_table was at an exhibition at school and i didn't film it there again. Tnx 4 reminding me to post it. Please comment again...

  • aloha

tnx for da comments, it means you at least took a look. I graduated with this design (KHM Mechelen, Belgium). The table itself, well, might be nicer, but the LED-screen (an old fat one, next test will be smaller) had to fit in. I used the horizontality of the tabletop out of plywood as well in the legs, so, it is built up out of 0.8 millimeter thick layers of veneer actually, of which the one on top is in a way glued onto the screen.

  • pretty cool. could make it to clubs as manus on tables lol

  • why are there comments accusing them of using projection when the description clearly says no projection? fucking retards. I like the led idea but dont like the table tbh ;D. But still a great idea

  • Its just a red flashlight type thing

  • proyector

  • Wow they put a red light above the table that can be changed to say what they want. You like how they don't put their hand over it? I hate people that post commends like mine but this is just someone trying to act like they made something when it is just a light.

  • they do this at the local night clubs.Floors,walls,etc..you're right...nothing special.

  • Dao wil ich wal us mit dete
