What material did you make the upper valve from? It looks like a machined seat has been made from the pvc fitting and a taper cut on the bottom of the upper valve. Wonderfully simple and durable. More great work Simon!

@shopken1 Slotted brass is a pipe nipple screwing into PVC fitting seat. Valve is from solid PVC. Has a U annular groove at top to form a bit of a flexible lip to seal and to provide a trap for settling dirt..
