What i find realy cool when i saw zakk wylde and Slash live early 2010 (not together) they both did not at all play there Gibson model les pauls. Zakk played his Epiphone sigs LP's and a Epiphone 1959 Gold top Lp. Slash play his Epiphone sigs. Epi custom
Great tone and playing could hear some page, clapton, betts, and allman in your playing. what were your eq settings on the marshall because i have a metroamp 50 watt plexi and this is the tone im after.
OK, I'm a nitpicker here: The Les Paul single cutaway wasn't made for most of the 60s. 1960 was the end of its first production period and it wasn't reintroduced until 1968. So, what years were your guitars made in? 68 or 69?
Great tones, of course. You can't argue with a good LP/Plexi combo!
I forgot how great a Plexi and a Les Paul sounds together. For a poor man's Plexi, buy a used Marshall AVT50H, replace the crappy preamp tube with a Russian long plate 12ax7 tube to add bottom end and drive it with a Wampler Plexidrive on medium gain.
How the hell do you have these on full blast? Not sure if I believe that, I can't even be in the same room with mine turned past 2 on treble and 4 on normal. WTF???
I have a 1987x, TSL100, and JTM60 combo. The plexi has to be louder than my TSL. I run a Hotplate with an 8dB drop with my Plexi and TSL, and at half volume on the Plexi it's unbearable!
Jodi Head , NYNY ... most straps like hers will cost you upwards of $100. Her cool pieces come in between $30. & $50. I have 3. One is a Chinese silk brocade w/ a dragon motif. People can't believe it was $40.
what's the point in calling me a little kid u idiot? Master volumes almost completely transform the tone of an amp, attenuators keep 95% of it and let you crank it. Do your research.
Even if that is true master volumes still work great too. Watch schenker69's Van Halen Riffs video, he has a Plexi with a master volume installed and it sounds huge at a low volume.
If u want that same awesome tone but dont want to burst ur organs, i would suggest a Marshall Power Brake Attenuator so u can crank r amp but not blow out ur ear drums.
hey yo wad up...first off i have one comment for you guys. fucking beautiful tone!! completely awesome...about the amps tho, r they reissues and if so how do they sound, im planning on getting one for myself and i want as much info as i can get if you can tell me that would be great
It's sad but, true. However; RIs can be made to sound correct & I mean "dead on" correct. Voodoo, Metro, & Sligo can put you were you want to be. They'll also build you a clone that isn't a tone crapshoot. The truth is , old Plexi are "hit & miss" due to inconsistant production techniques & components. Todays Cats don't really run into that. However; very cool tones from a cell phone. Now that's wicked
LOL... Let's just say they don't know how to appreciate fine tone. Must be preamp buzz deth metal kids? :)
By the way, I play a Mojave Peacemaker now, which is described by some as the "perfect" late '60s SuperLead/SuperBass. Check out my 2 videos when you get a chance. I think it sounds killer (except for the quality of my vids suck.)
I guess that he meant the goldtop was routed for humbuckers because there were only les paul custom and les paul deluxe from 1968 to 1975. The les paul "standard" was introduced in 1976, but it has 3pieces maple neck and large head until 1985.

Hey GT68 great clip but that sucked when you dissed the guy who is getting a 58 RI. you said to crank your amp and have fun to one guyand then you tell another his guitar sucks? Thats not guitar player spirit.
I hear 190 decibels will cause internal organ damage. At any rate, if your balls aren't shakin' and your ears aren't bleeding then it's not loud enough.

Good argument little kid. I've never used a attenuator but many people say they kill tone and a master volume doesn't. Which is better is debatable.

what's the point in calling me a little kid u idiot? Master volumes almost completely transform the tone of an amp, attenuators keep 95% of it and let you crank it. Do your research.
