  • jesus he looks like he hadn't slept in weeks.

  • i was born 10/20/1995 the day before shannon died.its kinda sad to know i was only alive one day while shannon was still alive....but his voice just makes me forget about lifes bullcrap. i will listen to blind melon forever

  • he doesnt look sick here...people need to stop trying to draw connections about his death to his life before he died. he simply cut his hair and put on eyeliner...something even metallica did in the mid-nineties. and none of them were sick or dead. this performence is fucknig fantastic and to me he looks just as lively as the woodstock show or anyother show for that matter

  • This is very Great show. But shannon Looks pretty bad and it break my heart. He looks sick and like he been through hell and back. But Damn, at the same time he looks so beautiful. I just wanna hug him lol . I miss him dearky even though I wasnt born 'till 13 months after his death:(

  • 1 month before his death.

  • if you listen to this show his voice didn't sound like this in the beginning, and if you didn't have this song as an iconic tune it wouldn't matter as much.plus singing for a long period of time at a show and at his energy level,of course it will get tired.feeling sorry for anybody is bullshit !! he chose his path it is what it is. it is and always will be a thing of beauty.

  • omg his voice sounds so fucked up it makes me sad

  • I stared to listen to Blind Melon when I was a child so it was really sad when your brother told me that shannon is dead.

  • God bless RSH the music and lyrics speak alone

  • i was at pepsi summer 94 in the front three rows. i fucking love blind melon. why i sleep all day. your all a bunch of sweet kids

  • i was at pepsi summer 94 in the front three rows. i fucking love blind melon. why i sleep all day. your all a bunch of sweet kids

  • aww poor fella. Great talent. This video's a bit sad really

  • can i get a thumbs uo for coke!! no??

  • Chills. R.i.p Shannon <3

  • Why is it that up and coming people die before the height of their career? I mean come on Shannon Hoon, Kurt Cobain,Tupac,Bob Marley,....come on...thats too much

  • @Bless1995 please dont EVER put shannon in the same catagory as Bob Marley.....you should know better

  • @Bless1995

most of the time if they didnt die they wouldnt have became so big. sadly

  • i think he s awesome.. lived his life a certain way.. and loved it... who are we to tell him that it was wrong or not. being fucked up was an integral part of his music and once you get over that you see how awesome it is..

  • @popsucks111 Geeting fucked up and ending up dead isn't awesome.

  • @num1Jaysta well, ive had a few years at both ends of the clean and fucked up 24/7 spectrum, and i can tell you death is not the worst thing that can befall you, not by a long shot. yes, death is tragic, and when it happens to people that are in the spotlight and have influence on us, it strikes a chord, that they went before their time. stop to think, though, that most of the music is at least conceived if not completely made while the peeps were flying the friendly skies.

  • @dreadedlyfe

    word.

  • @dreadedlyfe

    word dude. u right on.

  • @dreadedlyfe I see what you're saying.

  • @dreadedlyfe Well said. I've been there too and you are right. Some things are worse than death...It's a pity that this talented man had to leave this Earth. Especially with a new child. It was having a baby and fully accepting my role as a father that saved me. It's a shame that he didn't have that chance.

  • Un talento perdido lamentablemente su musica me llega al corazon

  • @Get1337 drugs

  • I ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU, YOU `RE ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART SHANNON!!

  • THAT right there, is how you dance to No Rain.

  • @Get1337 Died October 21st 1995 from a drug overdose in New Orleans before a show.

  • @StevNor12 Wasnt Layne from Alice in Chains with him rite before he died?

  • @Chesenips980 No. Where did you hear that?

  • @StevNor12 Theres a picture of them together from 1995, a friend of mine showed it to me and said something about it being the day he died or something. Idk, jw.

  • @Chesenips980 I've seen that pic and I'm almost 100% sure that's not true. It wasn't the same day.

  • @StevNor12 I thought he died after a show? Shannon left and never said where he was going and came back after several hours and crawled into bed and the bus driver found him the next morning. It's such a tragedy. He didn't deserve it man... If he only knew how many people actually cherished his existence... maybe he wouldn't have done that last line or hit or whatever to cause his O.D. It sure does suck to live in a world without him.

  • @woody0900 Well after some performance in Houston that he thought went horrible, he went on a cocaine binge. Blind Melon was scheduled to perform in New Orleans the next day and died in the tour bus as you said.

  • @woody0900

You couldn't have said that any better.

What you wrote, was just beautiful.

I'm glad someone other than me feels the same way about Shannon as you do. :)

  • Dude had less than a month to live.

  • !! Como me encanta esta cancion,, cada vez que pongo este video , tengo que abrir una cerveza ,,, !!!!! saludos a todos desde CHARLOTTE N.C....un Peruano amigo ....

  • haha! did u guys see that guy in crowd who was trying to crowd surf, kept falling!!!! HAHA!

  • dam this is outstanding sound quality/musical quality for a live performance

  • @taro195 "drugs are ok for recreational use, not as a way of living. wake up" very good point bro

  • less then a month before he died

  • great artist but i guess the story is drugs beat the shit out of him. i hope he had some good days ...

  • if you think drugs was responsible for all the great music, you're an idiot. imagine what more would have been. drugs are ok for recreational use, not as a way of living. wake up

  • @taro1958 Obviously this is true, and I agree with everything you said. I don't stand fully behind that quote, but it was just a way of saying how drugs do do some good for people, with the obvious pain that ensues. I do hope that Shannon would have made more music and kicked the habit, and his death was very personal to me. So, don't try to be too harsh when I simply posted a quote, and not necessarily my 100% thoughts

  • @taro1958 wake up and do drugz

  • why do all of the great musicians have to pass away? Shannon Hoon was one of those great ones and he was gone too soon.

  • drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs

    drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs

    drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs

    drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs

    drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs

    drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs

  • Wow this was recorded a day after his 28th birthday.

  • i used to live in Lafayette, Indiana and when to the vigil with my friend... and shannon mom gave her the bumble bee wings for her to wear and keep.

  • @superduperjellybean cool i live in linton

  • I wish so bad they would have put out more music

  • God bless Shannon but he looks pretty messed up here. I'm looking at the date and it seems that it was only a few weeks before his passing. Kind of eerie really.

  • I wish you would all just shut up already.

  • Can we please tone down all these drug comments, please? It always seems to come up and its a bit annoying. Whatever happened, happened, and there's nothing we can do to change it really. So all your opinions on it are pretty much null and void. Enjoy the music! C'mon now!

  • Yes! Just let him......Be!

  • @pd07048patrick Honestly, I don't really care anymore. I made this comment before I realized how incredibly stupid and frivolous Youtube comments are. All in all, I just want people to enjoy the video for what it is. ENJOYING MUSIC. I just think you can't judge until you've been in a similar situation as Shannon.

  • @StevNor12 One of my top 5 favorite songs of the 1990s. Thanks for your comment.

  • You make a good point but look how bad hoon looks.... and his voice sounds nothing like it did early in his career. its a bummer that he died but it wasnt the decisions of anyone else that caused that to happen..

  • I think people aren't keeping in perspective the toll that life on the road can take physically, emotionally, and mentally. Also the pressure from record lable, family, friends, and an artists on self can be enough to make chemical escape seem like an appealing option. Fact is the same reason artists are genuis are the same reason most are a bit mad. We all should just enjoy the flashes of brillance and go along on the visceral ride they take us on. Musical shaman.

  • perfect

  • does it matter...stop downing him like i've said many times drugs may be "bad" in some ways but they helped shape legends like shannon..appreciate what he brought to the world..so you don't use drugs..does not make you any better...makes you worse for judging...noones perfect

  • is it just me or is he strung out in this vid (i know he was a junkie & he tragically died from his addictions, but is he actually high during this performance?)

  • "junkie" is a little harsh. like calling a gay guy a "fag"

  • this is so sad. look at him.

  • sad

  • i love how shannon changes the wrods from the record version(:

  • he died 14 days later

  • poor sweet Shannon..looks like he's at deaths doors here...and his voice is so obviously affected by the coke...such a talent...

  • coke rules though.

  • @janavere His voice is affected from screaming. He's at death's door but looks healthy to me. He just got too high one night. Probably a relapse after not using for a while. He seems sharp and entertaining.

  • GRACIAS!!

    Saludos desde Argentina.

  • nice

  • "If you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years were rrreal fucking high on drugs." - Bill Hicks

  • Best answer one could possibly bring up to critics regarding drugs & music. I don't advocate for drugs, but you can't deny that they were one of the puzzle parts of the great puzzle we call contemporary music today...

  • @StevNor12 fuck yeah.

  • @StevNor12 rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreal fucking high on drugs

  • perfect
