This is a good example of an annoying but smart quake player. Railing and lging momentarily allows extra kills, damage for the rest of the team to kill off. This guy plays it safe and also uses peoples sudden panic as his kills.

@PCextras CS is compared whit quake for n00bz. Fragging in CS is way easier, for instance you need one body hit whit AWP or headshot and that is it, where in Queke you need 2 hits whit railgun or 4 if he is maxed (rail takes 100 hp). Movement in Quake is way harder that in CS because you have strafe jumping and rocket jumping. Playing TDM or Duel you have also timing. Read armor - timout 25s, mega health (+100 hp) 2min or 35s. Tactics strongly depends on this timeouts.

the railgun does not do 100 damage, it only does 80. Direct hit with a rocket does 100. and in clan arena, you only get 200 health and 100 armor, so 4 rails would be needed to get a frag.

@ra1u not that I care that much, but you do realize your faulty logic don't you? It works both ways, the other one can also 'easily' kill you. And movement is movement, slow movement can be harder as well. Cs is alot more tactical than quake. I played both games for a prolonged period of time so I know. There is no harder or better in nothing. It's like comparing football with basketball.

CA that's played in qlive was pre-2000, post-2000 CA was played in CPMA, otherwise RA3 was the main form of Clan Arena being played, which had a different ruleset.

@MCHanzz Promode refers to Challenge ProMode Arena (promode(dot)org). It's a Quake 3 MOD with different physics (called CPM) allowing movements impossible with standard physics (called VQ3).

You can watch videos like mastering cpm21 (by mew), f33l (w3sp), used and abused by Vo0... to have an idea of possible movements. The MOD also changes others things like weapons reload times, fast weapons switch... The physics is also used in others MODs (OSP, Defrag...) with slight differences.

Some people here are retarded 14 year old CS players.

CA movies feturing insane air rocket combos are not performed in entire match.

What people do is they record entire MATCHES of 10 games and cut only aircombo tricks and post on youtube its called EDITING.

Players like rapha dont go around and bunnyhop and do insane combos he waits, ambushes and kills.

Camping is very effective in quake 3 since most players dont count on camping since QL is a fast paced.

The point is to win.

After playing Quake 3 for 10 years (CA the last 5), I won't play safe just because it works. I don't care for that anymore. I wanna do frags I feel rewarding like U-turn rails and midairs.

And I guess 7 years of Defrag helps you see that way. The most awesome thing about Quake 3 : the physics. =)

And that's mostly why I was attracted to CA to begin with (but OSP CA pm1 in my case).

Watch any V1ncent Vega rocket arena movie ('RA3 Powerstrip' and especially 'So f*ckin' yeah!'), 'Lof.ra3.fnu²', ra3Extinction... or 'Kicked and removed' (CA pm1). This is how you're supposed to play Clan Arena!

It`s not culled from 100s of hours of missed attempts on pubs, this is a scrim, where he`s trying to win, and does so with great skill and effectiveness. @GutsCrush3R God you're an imbecile, so I'm gonna fire off a couple points to keep it quick and simple. 1) He didn't make the video or post it, someone else did. 2) This was how you played and won RA matches 3) Nomadic was an RA player. 4) This was early in CA when it was still played like RA. 5) If your aim is good enough this is still a very effective way of winning matches, just because he's not rocket jumping all over everyone doesn't mean another team member isn't.
