I will always love Cat Stevens music...made me feel great, sad mad and wonderful...my song was always Trouble...because that was me...always in trouble one way or another...still getting in trouble :o)
Katmandu with it's mystical lyrics and mood was always a magical song for me. But pretty much whatever of his I'm listening to seems like the best song.
This song was stuck in the head at the end of my school trip to Spain. I'd had some challenges earlier with the trip leader, which was hard because she was one of my closest mentors. But by the time we reached beautiful Montoro, things had worked out and everyone was happy just to be together and making the best of the last few days there, and I knew I couldn't do no wrong in my mentor's eyes. :-)
At the end of the sixties my first vinyl album was Tea for the Tillerman. I was so attracted that I bought his other albuns as well. They are still in my possession.
Mona Bone Jakon is my favourite and Fill My Ryes my al time favourite Stevens song.
so many times we forget to go back and listen to albums instead of singles, because we can momentarily misplace some of the greatest gems ever created. I just gave someone a list of 10 great cat stevens that didn't include any top 40 hits, and STILL forget to add Changes Iv and this tune. See, kids, we're asking: where is talent like this, today?
not sure he topped the purity and the beauty and simplicity if the songs and the entire feel of this album. this was nothing like matthew and son, like an awakening, a maturity beyond his years.
I had never heard the album version, just the live one. Usually prefer the live versions, but this one is special. So beautiful...

"In the morning when you fill my eyes, I knew that I couldn't do no wrong."
If only I could have that effect on everyone I meet.

I'd like to say this is my favorite Cat song, but when I listen to The Wind or Lilywhite or a dozen others, I could say the same thing.
