Obama socialist views will start to revealed in less than a year if elected. Those who voted for Obama will get a piece of their own medicine. No turning back, their eyes will be open then, it will be too late then. This comes from me a person that lived in a socialist country and chose not to lived in it anymore
Until you run for public office, you will never really know. So just enjoy the show and go vote at the polls. Make your decision there. The View has nothing to do with the political process. If she never went on TV, the McCain campaign would probably try to say she's hiding and is a detriment because she DIDN'T talk. My question is, who the hell cares? I don't. I already sent my ballot in - vote by mail rocks!
Michelle showed up with a list of topics people on the View WERE NOT ALLOWED TO DISCUSS. Not even in the White House and the Obamas are already telling people what they aren't allowed to talk about. Can we talk about that? No we can't. No we can't. No we can't. No we can't. No we can't. No one is personally bashing Michelle Obama; people are asking relevant questions about controversial statements made by M. Obama.
You better believe that each one of the candidates or candidates' wives came in with a list on that show. I don't know why you think that is strange or isolated to this case only. It would have not been fair if Hasselback jumped on Michelle's case about some hot topic issues, just like it would have not been fair if Behar jumped on Cindy McCain about John McCain issues. I think all of the ladies showed a lot of poise in interviewing those two ladies.
I see, so when she said this was the first time she'd been proud of her country she was referring to the political process. Phooey. I don't believe her. Also, she made the statement on two separate occasions. One time she said "really" another time she didn't. She knows that and allowed the View women to say what they did.
The USA & UK have to wise up. The world has become a smaller place. Whoo hoo I agree "no panty hose" I even started to buy thigh highs. I love how barbara asked could she call her Michelle, thats respect. I love the look on the face of the lady sitting by whoopi when she is talking about the gold tooth, lack of speech of black women on TV. Her face reaction is funny. I really particularly hate it when these people say "Nowhere but in America!!!". There are hard working people and opportunities in other countries too. It's not exclusive to America. It's all part of the Delusion and copyrighted Arrogance so they think other people are "Other" and justify never thinking of them as just equals who deserve respect rather than as people who must be brutalized in order to "free them" or whatever fake manufactured motive.
I'm so sick of those of you speak of Sen. Obama's inexperience. Yet we have had 8 years of George W. Bush in the White, what did his experiece bring America. Hatred of America around the World, Collapsing infrastructure of the Country,Financial Calamity, a War that was sold to the American puplic with Lies, need I go on for the next hour, I think you get the point!!!!!! Could Sen. Obama do worst than "W"?????
Why do they insist on linking race to their "Ideas". I love how she embraces the white girl and says, she's a good mother...and the Kennedy reference is rofl. Then she talks about the children, and how they love them etc, don't be played. Google the following "illinois Newborn infant protection act" see how obama voted. Read the legislation, understand his ignorance, or lies, There was "no life of the mother clause" that was irrevelant obama, the child is already BORN. But we love children?
Alot of people were saying whoopi was too much but, she was the only one hitting on the topics and not beating around the bush!!!! I love the comment she made about how michelle is helping to change the image of dark-skinned black women...and she's right.
I really wanted Hilary to be president :( oh well,i personaly think obama is to inexperienced to run the country but i guess we all have no choice now!McCain cant be president!if we have another republican this econamy will be so messed up maybe even as messed up as bush already has it!
Remember, even though he might be inexperienced, he has a LOT of potential, which means he can learn fast and do a lot more than we may even think. He's young and he can even see what the issues are with the later generations, his generations, and the upcoming generations. I have faith in Obama, he's getting my vote.
Malia sounds like the wisest little kid! You can tell a lot about parents from their kids, especially when the children are little. A girl that humorous and down-to-earth is a good sign for any family.
oh and like the clintons and mckean are something to look at. Hilary clinton is ugly and is about to run out of pants suits.. and mckean is probably going to drop dead in the next five minutes.
Yes, because looks and personality is what matters. How about choosing the person that is best for the job? Let's stop being so superficial and think about what really matters.
I have not liked or respected a few things Michelle has done. But there's always room to learn and grow. So maybe it's just been lack of experience for her. Experience in National politics. Her knocking the current first lady's family structure down and a few other comments, such as "her husband being a BLACK guy can be shot at a gas station" pushed my opinion back a few knobs. But I'm hoping it's just her being misspoken. Otherwise, I hope Obama wins. We need some BIG change.
what's wrong w/ her saying her husband as a black man can be shot at a gas station?! That's nothing but the damn truth in america. You white folks really refuse to understand that the world is NOT the same for blacks. Get real!
I kind of wonder if MY Black people are ready for a Black president because the way some Blacks attacked Barack over his Father's Day speech was simply ridiculous. One of the biggest faults of Blacks is that WE cannot come together and the reaction of some misguided and clueless Blacks to his speech was living proof of that. Sometimes or a lot of times we are own our worst enemies. WE got a chance to put a Black man in office. I hope WE do not ruin it with foolish infighting.
You actually own Black people? WE are not putting a Black man in office, we are putting a man in office who happens to be Black. You are arguing for this not to be infighting, but I believe that we, as Blacks, thinking we own the rights to being Black or Obama is what will hurt his chances. Let him be heard as a potential candidate, not a Black potential candidate.
having said that though, as a politician, what does he stand for? I know that everyone says go look at his website to understand his platform, but why should we have to, he gets us in front of all these cameras to try and sell us on SOMETHING, but he doesn't tell us what it is, I don't trust Obama for this reason, if he has a political philosophy, it really should be as simple as telling us what it is.
I have seen it when they interview Blacks on the street and they pick the most inarticulate and dumb sounding Blacks they can find. I got a feeling that if I and a Black guy with gold in his mouth and sagging pants witnessed the same exact crime they would pick him to interview over me. Is there racism in the media? You better believe it and Fox News is a prime example of that. Look at the way they attacked Michelle as being some kind of Black militant that is against her country. Sick.
How could any non-White person in America have REALLY been proud of their country when up until now the idea of a minority becoming president was a joke? Michelle has been proud before but now she is REALLY proud. The only people that does not make sense to are bigots. Otherwise, everyone should understand where she was coming from.
If Michelle had the track record of drug abuse that Cindy McCain had, the public would roast her. They would call her "another black woman on drugs". It is impressive to see Michelle stay strong and keep her calm and deal with the bull that the press has tried to throw her way. If the worst they can say is "she is angry and too strong", well that sounds pretty good to me!
yah, your going to tell me that they did all of the destroying behind secenes, now really when has that ever worked, things would have gotten out to the people, the reason why obama became the nominee is because he played a clear campain, maybe hillary and her run-off-mouth husband should have done that
I'm from the suburbs of Chicago, but I DO know that the south side is...well...not exactly the ideal place to live. There's a lot of crime and poverty, and I think it's great that Michelle Obama has shown the world that you can come from the ghetto, and with hard work and dedication...you may become the next first lady of the United States of America.
Thanks Joy for spouting your usual liberal drivel. "Unemployment" is the reason that black men aren't there for their kids? BULL. Even Michelle Obama seems to understand it's really because they grow up in a culture where black men aren't held accountable for their children and take no responsibility for them. It's a terrible part of black culture that is causing more and more children to grow up without fathers and continue that cycle- when they grow up they'll also abandon their kids.
That is unfair. Just because a parent behaves a certain way, does not mean their children will follow suit. If that were the case, I would be having an affair with a married man in Great Britain.
ok. McCain-Rep party ..Pro-Death penalty(that works so great as we know-NOT!)Pro-war. countless dead! Pro-greed more dead and victimised people. So what's so good about voting for that?.. Get you head out of the sand, your one agenda as good as it may be doesn't add up to the over-all problems that exist.Alot of DEATH looms when you are looking with tunnel vision over your one gripe. Please educate yourself to human history farther back than Roe vs Wade.
I met Michelle Obama in person. She is beautiful and classy, but I didn't like her attitude. I am a black woman by the way. I wish her and Obama the best and if they make it to the white house, which I am sure they will, I hope they are able to make a difference, even though I won't be voting for Obama. That's all I have to say about that.
Just a suggestion...know what you're talking about before you express those twisted blurs you call thoughts. As always, you, like much of the media, fail to give an EXACT quote of Mrs. Obama. She said, and I quote, "This is the first time in my adult life that I am 'really' proud of my country." Did you notice the emphasis on "really?" To ANY normal individual this would mean that she either has been or is proud of her country, but this is the first time she's really proud.
It's obvious that Michelle was talking about politics when she made that infamous quote about being proud of her country. Michelle became an adult in 1980 when Reagan was elected, and she hasn't seen a president that reflected truly the will of average citizens over big money interests and lobbyists since then in the way she feels her husband does. Anyone with half a brain can see the context of the speech she was giving and see what she was intending to say.
Michelle is black beautiful no wrinkles no fakeness, and she loves her man and he loves her so stop hating on her..whose the real angry women and haters out here?????
What are you talking about? Where did she "admit" that her test scores were too low for princeton?! She was a STRAIGHT A STUDENT!! George W Bush was a C student and got into Yale and Harvard! I guess it's okay for white people to go to school, but not black people. Please, get your facts straight!
Hassy looked like she was about to EXPLODE the whole time!!! "What they did to the Bush Girls?" Are you kidding me?!? THEY drank before they were 21. THEY broke the law!!!!
CHORUS: The last time I looked at my clock It was Obama time. OBAMA Republicans are in for a shock Cause its Obama time. OBAMA We still got hills to climb but its Obama time OBAMA Democrats gonna be just fine Cause its Obama time OBAMA
Alan Fram of the AP just wrote on Yahoo: that Michelle took flak in February when she said she was proud of her country "for the first time in my adult life." We are in July and the Media are still mis-quoting her speech! What gives!?!
Obama loves his wife & she loves him. They respect each other. They are not ashame to show it in public. You can see they are friends also. That's what a lot of married couples also need is "friendship".
Does Whoopi mean when she said, "It is so good having a BLACK BLACK Women on the show that does not have gold teeth and cannot speak. What about the women sitting right next to her, she is no less black, in color Michelle. The view should not be pro any either canidate.
Also she said what she said about the USA. I saw things quoted by her before she even had any real thought about her husband being President.
It is kind of an awkward moment when Whoopi says that. If you don't know exactly what Whoopi is trying to say, she could easily come off sounding like she's trippin. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people took that comment the wrong way. I know what Whoopi's trying to say there, but I'm not so sure she's right any more. There's been an increasing presence of black people in non-fiction TV over recent years, including lots of perfectly respectable and educated black women.
Amen, I have a friend whose grandparents are in Eastern Europe (Ukraine). they think all black people are either drug addicts or professional basketball players that smoke weed all day. They even say the Russian version of the "N" word. I think the Obama's are changing ignorant perceptions.
I can tell you are lying. Have you ever been to Russia? They have no idea what the N word is. Eastern Europe and Asia have completely different mentalities towards color. They have no pre-conceived notions whatsoever because they have never been exposed to them however there may still be feuds amongst their own people they do not have problems with people over color which seperates them far from the U.S. in that context. Do not blame problems on other countries to feed off of people's naivete.
"they have no preconcieved notions" are you kidding me?? I'm half russian and danish and grew up in sweden and spent alot of time in both countries and that my friend is the most ridicolous idea i have heard. THERE IS MOST DEFINETLY a preconceived idea no matter where you go on this earth, the difference is that there is not that much diversity in certain places.
Eastern Europe and Asia have completely different mentalities towards color. They have no pre-conceived notions whatsoever because they have never been exposed to them however there may still be feuds amongst their own people they do not have problems with people over color which seperates them far from the U.S. in that context.
What a lot of 'pro-Life' people don't realize is that most people who respect the right to choose are also 'pro-Life.' It's not an us vs. them argument and you don't hold any kind of patent on it. we would rather not have the abortion needed. But we know that the pregnancy is going on inside someone else's body. It is their choice.
I agree, I don't agree with abortion but I do believe in a person right of choice and what they do is their own business why should someones personal business across the country from me be MY business, it's not.
pro life?!? So you are a vegetarian who never killed an insect? Oh no, you mean selective-life? A full grown animal with emotions and a perception of the world is worth less than an unconceived human? is that pro-life?
At least stop hiding behind language. It is Pro Life vs. Pro Death. Pro 'Choice' is sooooooo cowardly. This country has been on a miserable slide ever since Roe v Wade. And picking up speed...........All you brilliant modern feminists, remember, every other abortion is a dead female. You've killed 20 million female babies---I'd guess they would want a second opinion. Perhaps someone else speaking for THEIR RIGHTS.
Obama is an academic and a rational, systematic thinker. He is a symbol of America as a positive force in the world (like the America that rebuild Europe after WWII). I live in Australia (probably the US' closest ally since WWII) and even here there is such intense anti-american sentiment. People have forgotten the positive things the US has done for the world. Obama has the potential to make the world look up to America again. The world must be reminded America is not necessarily "Bush".
Abortion can not be illegal because the constitution claims its a religious view which we have freedom of religion in AMERICA. If we didn't have abortion clinics women would go to third world countries to get it done for $50 in non-sterile conditions.
In nations where abortion is not only legal but also easily accessible (or even free under national health insurance), rates of abortion are among the world's LOWEST.
Abortion is completely illegal throughout Latin America, but abortion rates in Peru, Chile and the Dominican Republic have been estimated to be more than twice the U.S. rate.
All data show that access to birth control and safe procedures reduces abortions.
Guttmacher Report on Public Policy, Feb 2001, Vol 4, No 1
TheOpinionGuy2, The Institute works to protect, expand and equalize access to information, services and rights that will enable women and men to * avoid unplanned pregnancies; * prevent and treat sexually transmitted infections, including HIV; * exercise the right to choose abortion; * achieve healthy pregnancies and births; and * have healthy, satisfying sexual relationships.
This is a Pro abortion org. What else would you expect.
Iam voting Republican because I want my daughters to sell themselves for high gas, food, and everyday living expenses. When my co-workers go to porn sites my daughters on there because its a job, and inflation has skyrocketed and jobs are nowhere to be found b/c of outsourcing.
Obama: has a wife and 2 children he is for a progressive America.
McCain: is a swinging Republican who likes blond bimbos who parents own a company that causes people to die(Budwiser), and he is a power hungry fascist whos friends with Bush (the president who ruined the economy). No care for a progressive future because his children are spoiled brats who don't have to work EVER!
saying this is the best nation in the world and wanting change IN it is not a contradiction. This nation is great in that it allots the opportunity for change. We can not be a stagnant nation stuck in old ways. we must be dynamic and peruse chances to improve.
he said we r the the best nation in the world. that is ONLY in comparison to other nations. it doesn't mean we r the best nation we can be, but rather we need to change while we have a chance instead of settling
The way to have fewer abortions is to allow access to safe procedures and birth control.
50% of abortions come from a very small number of women. All data show that having access to birth control and safe procedures reduces abortions. Period.
In nations where abortion is not only legal but also easily accessible (or even free of charge under national health insurance), rates of abortion are among the world's *LOWEST*.
Guttmacher Report on Public Policy, Feb 2001, Vol 4, No 1
The good news with abortion is that the abortions are performed mainly on poor minority women followed by poor white women. That means the aborted babies are more likely to be a democrat voter than republican.
Why does being pro-life end at birth for you people. Why are you pro death for Iraqi children and pro death penalty? Why don't you right wingers believe in food stamps. Lets make sure that every pregnancy comes to term so that we can throw the mother off welfare and let the child starve. oh the hypocrisy!
luv, there were many many cases on tv and in print that did omit the word "really" to stir ppl's thoughts to make her look bad. Please pay attention to EVERYTHING and make your own conclutions. You may not have heard it but millions of others did. I being one of them.
wow is legal abortion the only rason to vote for MaCin What about The stuff that really matters Healhcare, that stupid ass War (which MaCin is Willing to stay in Iraq for a long time
What has McCain DONE for our pro life movement, not what he SAYS? We ALL need to WAKE UP and realize the many other important issues taking away our freedom. Our ability to even have children is in danger, laws is being written to get rid of the internet for us to communicate with one another. WE ALL NEED TO WAKE UP!
Way to go Michelle! You and Barack make me proud and excited to be an American again. Thank you for your service to this country and to this world, which needs you right now.
I hate hearing people say she is a very strong BLACK woman. She's a very strong woman, end of story. I think she is a beautiful and strong woman and would make a great first lady.
though I really can't stand The View, I can appreciate the strategy of this appearance. More personally I just really like her. Can't wait to see the Obama family in the White House next January.
I wanted Hillary for president, too, but Michelle Obama is mouthy and hip. She is a diva. Her and Barrack will rock this country. How cute is that dress of hers?
Hey America, keep spending money on wars to prop up Israel while your infrastructure crumbles. Did you know not one US city made it into Mercer's annual list of 20 best places to live in the world? Only one made it into the top 25 - and that was Honolulu! None of this will change if McCain relies on Joe "double draft deferment" Lieberman for foreign policy guidance (as well as finding his misplaced medication and slippers). Vote Obama!

BorderMom46 3 years ago
what's wrong w/ her saying her husband as a black man can be shot at a gas station?!

WebAnt 3 years ago 21
You actually own Black people? WE are not putting a Black man in office, we are putting a man in office who happens to be Black. You are arguing for this not to be infighting, but I believe that we, as Blacks, thinking we own the rights to being Black or Obama is what will hurt his chances. Let him be heard as a potential candidate, not a Black potential candidate.
9melli520 3 years ago 68
having said that though, as a politician, what does he stand for?

Sick.
WebAnt 3 years ago 19

1morefreshgirl 3 years ago 3
It's obvious that Michelle was talking about politics when she made that infamous quote about being proud of her country. Michelle became an adult in 1980 when Reagan was elected, and she hasn't seen a president that reflected truly the will of average citizens over big money interests and lobbyists since then in the way she feels her husband does. Anyone with half a brain can see the context of the speech she was giving and see what she was intending to say.

Also she said what she said about the USA. I saw things quoted by her before she even had any real thought about her husband being President.
dwplady 3 years ago
It is kind of an awkward moment when Whoopi says that. If you don't know exactly what Whoopi is trying to say, she could easily come off sounding like she's trippin. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people took that comment the wrong way. I know what Whoopi's trying to say there, but I'm not so sure she's right any more. There's been an increasing presence of black people in non-fiction TV over recent years, including lots of perfectly respectable and educated black women.

quetou 3 years ago 13
I can tell you are lying. Have you ever been to Russia? They have no idea what the N word is. Eastern Europe and Asia have completely different mentalities towards color. They have no pre-conceived notions whatsoever because they have never been exposed to them however there may still be feuds amongst their own people they do not have problems with people over color which seperates them far from the U.S. in that context. Do not blame problems on other countries to feed off of people's naivete.

THERE IS MOST DEFINETLY a preconceived idea no matter where you go on this earth, the difference is that there is not that much diversity in certain places.

It is their choice.
cocolahtay 3 years ago 27

If we didn't have abortion clinics women would go to third world countries to get it done for $50 in non-sterile conditions.
dude311420 3 years ago
In nations where abortion is not only legal but also easily accessible (or even free under national health insurance), rates of abortion are among the world's LOWEST.
Abortion is completely illegal throughout Latin America, but abortion rates in Peru, Chile and the Dominican Republic have been estimated to be more than twice the U.S. rate.
All data show that access to birth control and safe procedures reduces abortions.

saying this is the best nation in the world and wanting change IN it is not a contradiction.

The good news with abortion is that the abortions are performed mainly on poor minority women followed by poor white women. That means the aborted babies are more likely to be a democrat voter than republican.
