Oh yes, this is what makes a nuisance of us all. You never know if a sunset/sunrise is going to be spectacular or not. I was trying to figure out some weather interdependence, but it seems like it's really hard to set something clear and concrete...
well done but I have to agree with Prof. macintosh: would be better without the people. and why? not because they are people, but because their movements are out of sync with the natural flow. it's an esthetic problem. but anyway, good video.
Thats one way of viewing it. another is to see the secret beauty that passes as people go about their ways, never to see these things as they truely are.
Trees dont look good time lapsed. unless it's a daily frame over, say, a year. generally, things that move slow are better timelapsed, while things that move fast are better slowed.
No on people It ruins the tranquility of the film and looks unnatural. If you want to give it character don't know if you can do this or not with time lapse I have never seen it-but if you could film the top half of the sunset sky in time lapse and the bottom half-waves and shore in real time-Maybe someone riding a horse along the shore. Then put them together as a film,it would look awesome as it would give the film an overall natural appearance but have a hauntingly surreal effect to it
a horse rider passing on the beach in timelapse would look like an ant scooting by. As for the waves and tides - it depends how fast the time has been lapsed. I want to do one so fast it goes over a week in a few moments. THAT'S a big job.
Firstly you drag yourself out of Bed. You convince a girl it's a good idea to hike with you up a 3 hor montain track. Then you rug up, get there and find about 200 people with the same idea to watch the sunrise from the highest point on the eastern coast.
It didn't look like this, even to me, until i saw it sped up myself. Randomly pause the clip at various moments and you'll see how it really looked through-out the hour.
WOW!!! GOOD!!! FKD

Sun arise, she bring in the morning.
Sun arise, bring in the morning, fluttering her skirts all around.
Sun arise, she come with the dawning.
Sun arise, come with the dawning, spreading all the light all around.
Sun arise, on the kangaroo paw.
Sun arise, on the kangaroo paw, glistening the dew all around.
Sun arise, filling all the hollows,
Sun arise, filling all the hollows, lighting up the hills all around.
I was listening to rolf sing that as I watched this. Cool.

this is great. Looks amazing and also cool that it's the easternmost spot.
I'm just now starting to experiment with time lapse sunrise, and time lapse in general, trees in the wind, etc.

I think Thundralight ment have the BG time lapsed and the horse rider almost in slow-mo edited over the top >.>

actually, when i saw the sky i was contemplating cancelling the whole shot. i was going for an actual telephoto sunrise over the water.

can someone give me a scientific explanation for why australian skies look so awesome...?
LoseTheGameDotCom 3 years ago
less population, clean air... and down south here we're isolated and free of geological activity like volcanic fumes.
mainly though, most of the earths landmass is in the north. we're all water down here

Firstly you drag yourself out of Bed. You convince a girl it's a good idea to hike with you up a 3 hor montain track. Then you rug up, get there and find about 200 people with the same idea to watch the sunrise from the highest point on the eastern coast.
