no, it was erroding, as the waves washed away the sand...it was a modern day miracle the way they moved americas tallest lighthouse over half a mile......that place is so awesome....i climbed it too!!! the view from the top is just breathtaking.

that really long and wide stretch that goes from the light house through the parking lot and to the ocean, is where the made a path from the ocean to the light house to it's present point. i think that was because the island is slowly sinking or something like that, i dunno.
