SRT-4s are Neons... Evos are Lancers....STI's are Imprezas....Talk shit all you want about the neon srt-4, for less than 3 grand in mods you can run a high 11 second pass and still get 30+ MPG.
I have over 200 passes on my block/trans... 148,000 miles on the set up and I haven't had a problem yet. I did need a clutch at 104,000 miles though. The Srt-4 is probably one of the most reliable cars to mod there is..

Not when you modify them... Honda engines aren't meant to be modified. Doesn't mean you can't modify them, obviously you can. But they don't last HALF as long modified. The Neon SRT-4 motor on the otherhand is bullet proof completely built ....they love mods, and last forever. There are quite a few big turbo SRTS with over 200,000 miles now.
@MrBadfish2 I had a SRT-4 Neon and 1. It didn't get 30mpg. More like 20mpg. 2. It cost a WHOLE lot more than $3,000 to get into the 11s. Maybe $3,000 for the turbo kit but you still need the supporting mods; intercooler, bov, intake, injectors, tune, etc. Mine made 306hp. But eventually I got tired of it and bought the SRT-8 Cherokee.
You clearly don't know enough about the SRT-4 to comment on this based on what you've said. You can buy a Stage 3 without toys kit for $2,000 and run a used Needswings DP for $150-200 and that set up willl run 11s all day and get 30+ MPG. How do I know? Because that's exact set up I have...except I've been running it for over 4 years. There are other ways.. Big Wheel Stocker turbo, DSP, DP, WGA, INjectors is also well under $3000 and will also run 11s with amazing MPG.

You can't drive.. that's not my fault. My car ran low 12s on stock turbo.... with nothing more than DP, IC, WGA SLicks,Ported Turbo, and map clamp. If you aren't aware what Stage 3 turbo are capable of.. it's pointless to discuss any further with you. Do some research, 11s are very easy for Stage 3 set ups..in fact, they are known for being the easiest way into the 11s consistently too. A Stage 3 with a stock intercooler, Stock exhaust can make an 11 second pass on slicks.
In fact, "NeonDan' on SRTForums ran 11.6 with a stock turbo...and very few mods..and that was over 5 years ago.. I believe there are a alot more running 11s on stock turbo with very few mods now, using DSP. Seriously, instead of arguing with me.. work on your cars and driving skills.

And you said you only had 300HP on your SRT-4.. which means you were on Stock Turbo. You do realize the big turbo SRT-4s get WAY better mileage than the stockers right? Stock Turbo'd SRTs with a good tune and slicks can run a 12.0-12.5 all day... but they do suffer a little on mileage. I did hit 30 on some good roads with my Stock Turbo but averaged 26-28... 20 was the worst and that was after racing all day at the track..monitored with Aeroforce scan

@SL8R71 because at its time the srt-4 was the 2nd fastest production car dodge put out after the viper. with the power to weight ratio and cheap cost to mod you can make an srt4 scary fast.
@stratmemph1 only real problem with a fast srt4 is you have that big problem of front wheel drive..its not really a terrable thing but it makes things a bit more of a challenge, especially from a dig race if you have sticky tires on an srt-4...but to each his own
@badausf yeah that and stiffer rear suspension takes care of that. I know what you mean tho every car ive owned has been fwd. BUT after driving one for a while you can get pretty good launches figured out. plus 90% of srt-4 and tuned fwd cars are street cars and not so much drag cars so on top of being fast they typically have better handling than how most people build street rwd v8s and such.
@stratmemph1 well you need to talk with some of the srt-4 guys in my town they cant seem to figure out that whole launching thing so its pretty funny when you say ok ill run your 40 roll then we run a dig ( they think my fox is a turd because its only got 425hp ) i pull them in both races just because they have major traction and torque steer issues do to lack of suspension set up if they did that they would probably pull me every day of the week.

@MrBadfish2 I had a SRT-4 Neon and 1. It didn't get 30mpg. More like 20mpg. 2. It cost a WHOLE lot more than $3,000 to get into the 11s. Maybe $3,000 for the turbo kit but you still need the supporting mods; intercooler, bov, intake, injectors, tune, etc. Mine made 306hp. But eventually I got tired of it and bought the SRT-8 Cherokee.

You can buy a Stage 3 without toys kit for $2,000 and run a used Needswings DP for $150-200 and that set up willl run 11s all day and get 30+ MPG. How do I know? Because that's exact set up I have...except I've been running it for over 4 years. There are other ways.. Big Wheel Stocker turbo, DSP, DP, WGA, INjectors is also well under $3000 and will also run 11s with amazing MPG.

You can't drive.. that's not my fault. My car ran low 12s on stock turbo.... with nothing more than DP, IC, WGA SLicks,Ported Turbo, and map clamp. If you aren't aware what Stage 3 turbo are capable of.. it's pointless to discuss any further with you. Do some research, 11s are very easy for Stage 3 set ups..in fact, they are known for being the easiest way into the 11s consistently too. A Stage 3 with a stock intercooler, Stock exhaust can make an 11 second pass on slicks.

@badausf yeah that and stiffer rear suspension takes care of that. I know what you mean tho every car ive owned has been fwd. BUT after driving one for a while you can get pretty good launches figured out. plus 90% of srt-4 and tuned fwd cars are street cars and not so much drag cars so on top of being fast they typically have better handling than how most people build street rwd v8s and such.

@stratmemph1 well you need to talk with some of the srt-4 guys in my town they cant seem to figure out that whole launching thing so its pretty funny when you say ok ill run your 40 roll then we run a dig ( they think my fox is a turd because its only got 425hp ) i pull them in both races just because they have major traction and torque steer issues do to lack of suspension set up if they did that they would probably pull me every day of the week.

He knows how to launch it pretty damn well. but yeah i know what you mean man i respect all cars muscle or tuner if theyre ACTUALLY built right and 425 is a respectable number.
