  • wow, i like ur video man,

  • and all this time it thought the good tires went on the back

  • I think he asked the address because the coupon is for the tri state area.

  • You're better off without getting the brake inspection. They will lie to you and say you need something you really don't. I remember I use to go to these places before I learned how to work on my own car. They lie to make a buck.

  • There is nothing wrong with how this customer acted. He was informed and did his homework. These quick lube places are known for charging people off and not doing the work! Just search it on youtube! Thais is why I do all of my own maintenance & repairs. These guys are snakes.

  • Comment removed

  • what kinda idiot was working there .

  • Thats what you get for being cheap. I wouldn't do that work for $20 either.

  • That mechanic is a dumb ass!

  • @Cordtus by 100 miles I mean 100k miles obviously

  • @seapeddler it doesn't matter what your bearings are made from if you're stupid enough to leave your snake oil in there for 100 miles. oil not only breaks down long before then but becomes contaminated by a number of different (abrasive and/or corrosive) materials over time. This is why we change our oil and why people that don't properly maintain their shit are often complaining about having a "lemon" when the problem actually is their own stupidity/cheapness.

  • its a coupon from a corporate business. if you work at a midas you work for a corporation not a PRIVATE SHOP. you are OBLIGATED to accept the damn coupons regardless how you feel and are REQUIRED to do a proper job on the car being serviced. if you as a shop cannot provide the service then find a different business.

  • @mysqueeker The name Midas is a corp. however each midas is an independent franchise. Like wendys. Like all NFL teams. They dont have to do sh*t that's not in their contract. Does the phrase *valid at participating branches* ring a bell to you?

  • @Oozingmachismo24 does it look like i care? i dont shop at midas their work is just as shotty as tires plus. I would much rather take my business to a knowledgable shop or do the work myself. at least i know the work will get done properly.

  • You should be a consumer reporter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This guy is an idiot. I do agree that the mechanic was wrong. But, the guy was an asshole about giving out his info, the shop should have turned him away. The coupon is for a oil change, and free rotate and brake check. I wish they did pull the wheels, and sell him brakes all the way around. It is a coupon that is a waste of time for most busy shops to accept. The coupon is designed to help slow shop attract brake jobs. I work at a Midas shop, I hate these coupons.

  • @mr94metro You're right- they could've made money from me on brakes because I actually DID need new brakes! My drums were grinding but I couldn't get them off, so I figured let these guys do it... but, since they chose not to even look, they missed out on some extra business. Their loss, since I went elsewhere to have the brakes done.

  • @mr94metro your are an idiot.

You need to honor the commitment.

  • I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU, you are really good to control yourself It happened to me once and the only reason I did not punch him on the face was because I was not yet an American citizen, that's why I never went back, I try to do all the work myself.

  • You probably had more information at your fingertips than the "mechanic" working on your vehicle. I became a "certified technician" as the shirt reads at midas... and I didn't know anything. The real mechanics only hire friends or family... or maybe its just good timing. real mechanics don't work at jiffy lube, meineke, or midas. Those businesses are for chumps, losers, and hacks. I hope midas goes under. Great video by the way!

  • No offense or anything.. but what do you expect? A chain store like midas has a franchise owner.. he's probably the douche who acts as "service advisor". At Midas, as an employee you only receive training if your "franchise owner" allows you to take the courses. The courses, mind you are only provided to staff if the franchise owner pays for the courses. So there is no incentive to train the workers because inevitably they quit. All chain stores that are automotive service are crap.

  • Listen here. If you feel as if you have been screwed, Call up my parents shop any time. We have saved out customers hundreds when over charged on repairs. We are a loyal family business trying to help YOU! stopautorepairripoffs(dot)com

  • i think you payed $20 for an invoice only they probably did not even replace the oil

anyway midas in australia is the same bullshit

  • Customers should stop being so cheap. Don't they know the technicians are underpaid and work on commission... It's Free if you do the tire rotation yourself cheap ass!!!

  • @mexy54 but who wants to do it when you can have other monkeys do it

  • @mexy54 the point is he paid for them to do the work and they didn't. It's not cheap to expect someone to do the work you paid them to do.

  • That's just the beginning try to file a complain that's even worse

  • fucking crooks.

  • lmao. all my years and ive need seen tires wear the same

  • Here's how to avoid this problem - get your car serviced at the dealership not some crappy oil change shop - remember if you want quality service, you pay a little more for it. If you want to be a cheap ass, this what you get

  • @RTdeluxe That is obviously how this places makes money. They do your oil change at a loss to get you in the door then suggest other repairs that may or may not need to be done. They basically paid you to let them change your oil. Now if you would've said they then charged you to change your brake pads for $200 and they weren't even worn, I'd feel sorry for you. $20 oil changes does not garner sympathy from me sorry.

  • good job. i wish more people would record this type of behavior from shops. dont forget to send a copy of this video to the store manager and the corporate office. :D

  • a lot of shops do this .. i now a jiffy lube that closed nearby because of shady practices..f these bastards and try to act all smart when they talk.. that guy should be fired ..

  • you went in with a coupon that you printed off the internet for an oil change that would have coasted you 25 dollars regular. I dont know what you do for a living but with all do respect i have worked at Midas and pay over there is not very good at all, and when your getting paid peanuts to break your back all day the quality of your job isnt of big concern to you.

  • @defergerth Thanks for the tip. Never going to Midas if at all possible.

  • Yeah they are pretty terrible; they ripped my friend off as well, but on something a bit more serious. And he must of been on drugs saying that you can go that many miles without a rotation; mine have to be done every 2k (partly because of my driving. but mostly the roads I drive on.)

  • what i got from this video is the guy DOSENT have a area, nay, a LEGAL area to work on this or else he would, and not that either way he got a cheep oil change..maybe, its that HE PAID for a SERVICE that WAS NOT delivered, i do my ow nwork to my cars cause i have the ROOM to, obviously he DOSE NOT. ohh yea 24 people that watched this vid worded at midas

  • I love how no one reads the comments.... the argument here is he isn't getting the service he is paying for.... when did so many people become retarded? I guess all those people end up working at Midas.

  • There really is no reason to pay these idiots for an oil change and rotation. Both simple jobs that a monkey could do.

  • @aieljose Sure, any person could do their own oil change and tire rotation...if they had their own driveway or garage!!!! People that live in apartments do not have this luxury. I already explained this in the video description.

  • @GrumblingCustomer I live in an apartment. I swap my seasonal tires in the parking lot of my building.

  • @GrumblingCustomer Please mention my moms shop in your description. We are an auto mechanic shop that is completely against people doing this. stopautorepairripoffs (dot) com

  • @GrumblingCustomer I lived in apartments, and never had a problem rotating tires or oil.

  • @GrumblingCustomer This so true and i live in NJ.. man i need a house ieth a garage asap..

  • @aieljose I agree with GrumblingCustomer, It's hard to do your own mechanic work when you live in an apartment complex. Anytime I raise my hood in my apts, even if is just to check the fluids, maintenance comes by and "warns" me that I have to take it off the property to work on it. In that case, why don't I just park it in the middle of a busy street and work on it? Sounds safe, right?

  • @aieljose Sure, if you have the tools and a place to do it.

  • It's not just Midas, George's Auto repair just screwed me royal. Wouldn't recommend them at all.

  • Midas sucks cock

  • @autoxs13

I understand what you're saying, but look at the coupon itself, it says the following:

"Oil Change Plus includes: Oil and filter change, Rotate and inspect 4 tires, Courtesy check including visual brake check."

If I go to Pizza Hut and order their Family Meal, you'd better believe that I am getting all of that meal, not just the pizza (because the cook believes that I shouldn't be eating the cheesy bread/dessert/fill in the blank."

  • @autoxs13 regardless of whether he paid for it or not his point is why advertise a service if your not going to do it... but on the other hand that is a good price for an oil change

  • I myself work at a garage and hate it when shops like this give the rest of us a bad rep. The person who claims to be a technician at this location was talking out of his ass, tires are supposed to be rotated every 5-7k miles regardless of how they are wearing. Which by the video the poster is rotating his too frequently which can cause wearing issues... just sayin.

  • You are an idiot. First, it's illegal to record anyone who is unaware of it, that includes video or audio. Two, you paid $19.99 for an oil change, the tire rotation and VISUAL brake inspection are FREE services. Three, best tires on the rear, look it up. Four, dealerships ARE NOT any better. Five, most places lose money on oil changes, quit being such a bitch. You're the kind of person any mechanic or service advisore hates to deal with. It's not an easy job, you should try it sometime.

  • @autoxs13 You missed the point. If they get away with it here, how many customers are there that are paying out of their nose for unnecessary or non existent major repairs? Think of the big picture here. Sure, wipe down the old sparkplugs to make them look new, hose down the tires to make them look rotated and tighten the brakes and charge you for new ones. XD

  • @autoxs13

Please see comment above. Note: the name of the service, Oil Change Plus, indicates that more is included with the purchase of the package. That doesn't indicate that the other services are free.

  • thats why u go to americas tire or discount tire

  • Just take your car to a dealer next time, i work at a dealership and if you want your tires rotated and it dont need it it doesnt matter to me as long as you pay for what i am doing to your car. I would never try to argue about it, its your car and your choice.

  • I love how this guy gets his oil changed for $20 and is still pissed. You can't even change your own oil for $20. I don't get why people get so upset with mechanics and repair people in general. No one gets pissed at doctors and lawyers even though 90% of the shit they charge you $100 a visit to tell you you can find out yourself with 5 minutes and an internet connection.

  • @packinwood2009 everyone gets pissed at bad doctors and lawyers. have you ever gone to a walk-in clinic and gotten a prescription that didn't work? Or be watching TV and some cheesy law-firm puts on a 5 minute commercial about some drug that could kill you, so you should sue the makers?

  • @packinwood2009 Its the simple fact that it was advertised oil change and tire rotation. The oil change is just a gimmick to find something else wrong with your vehicle. they still make money. The oil used is recycled oil. Pennies on a quart. I used to work at a shop that did this and got tired of customers getting screwed so i opend my own shop

  • Great stuff! I too am very leary of shops but still use them... its tough to work on my ls1 at home

  • What the hell do you expect for 20 dollars? You get excatly what you pay for, cheap oil a cheap filter a crap attitude from the people working there.

  • I'll never step foot in a Midas after seeing this shit. Thanks and keep them coming

  • @TheJDub1228 meinke is no better they do the same shit.

  • Thanks for posting, I've had a similar experience with Jiffy Lube. I'm convinced they took out my nice clean air filter and showed me a nasty, falling apart air filter, saying it was mine. That it needed to be changed. I recall looking at my filter a month earlier. It was in decent shape. Unfortunately, I had no way of proving the swap.

I drove down the street and bought an air filter for almost 1/3 the price Jiffy would have charged.

  • i have my tires rotated and Balanced in the spring and then again in the fall. tire wear is even and have no funny pulls or vibrations. bought a lifetime bal+rotate at walmart (it's the only thing i will let them touch). they use a torque wrench to tighten the lugs down - if you know what i'm talking about.

  • @onenikkione tires don't need to be balanced twice a year... i bet when they "balance" Them, they put them on the tire balancer, and take them right back off, because they don't need to add any weights.

  • @666dynomax places like this never remove the old weight when perfoming a balance and ive also seen them damage rims by puting weight on the outside of wheels that were not designed for them (such as mag wheels) I did work as a mechanic for a number of years and have left this career behind because of the lie's and bs franchise shops like this do (I used to work for meineke) I actually quit a job after being there for 2 hours after seeing the manager and tech try to cover up damage.

  • Nice to show us the name of the company. But have you tried to show this to a local news or the Corporate HQ?

  • all the dislike are people who work or know someone who works at that midas

  • Midas and Mr lube suck dicks. Mr lube half asses jobs all the time. Every time I walk by there on the way to get a coffee I make sure to spit on their building and give their staff the finger. Immature I know but fuck them.

  • This is why I do my own repairs. My old boss was the same way, always looking for a way to screw a customer. I quit and now all his customers come to me for quality work at a lower price.

  • @Blix718 Nice.

  • With Mida's 2 things happened:

1: Had exhuast system replaced and a valve was welded and relocated to the back of engine "I have no idea why" which needs to be removed to be checked and possibly replaced which can't be done now myself.

2: New exhuast system was re-adjusted and pipe between muffler and muffler to pipe not welded and pipe seal broken and wrapped with asbestos tape which came off and messes and engine seems to backfire and sounds horrible sometimes shutting off.

  • I've had things like this happen before, it happens during a new car purchase too at a dealership.

Purchasing a car and finding out you got a car that isn't actually one you ordered and the car you got didn't have the features you actually paid for or you get car and the features aren't completely installed or missing, or your AC is discharged during other work and they don't tell you, when you get car back the AC no longer works.

  • @keithkrez It's called preventive maintenance, weather they need it or not that is the whole concept jackass!!. That's probalby why his tires have worn as even as they have. It has nothing to do with tread depth. Get your facts straight before you run your cocksucker!.

  • well, if you want to be technical.. You are NOT paying for a rotation,. it is offered "as needed" as a free courtesy service as part of the "special" oil change. It costs a shop (no matter who you are firestone, midas, private owned) a minimum of $26 to do an oil change. And YES you should technically (per manufacture recommendations) rotate your tires every 6k miles. You are correct in the fact that by NOT pulling the wheels you cannot adequately perform a brake check which is stupid .

  • Well I can see where the mechanics are coming from. If your tires are worn the same, then you don't need to rotate the tires. It's not being shady, it just doesn't need to be rotated. However, if you paid for a brake check, they should have pulled off the tires off and checked them which it sounds like they didn't. If you were to have payed for the tire rotation, usually its a 1/4 hour flat rate, I could see why you would have been upset, but you basically just paid for the oil and filter.

  • I hate it when people call oil change employees mechanics. These people are NOT mechanics.

  • I completely agree with you...if I pay for something I don't care if the mechanic doesn't think I need it, they should do it anyway or not charge you for it. The fact was you caught him in a lie and he was desperately trying to make excuses and cover himself. Mechanics are some of the biggest crooks of any profession from my experience.

  • dude, you should have used a blue sharpie on your oil filter cuz I had this same deal at midas once and I marked my oil filter and informed them I didnt want the tires rotated. after the service I checked under my hood and it had the same filter on I was pissed and Ive never gone back to Midas.

  • @keithkrez so your saying you don't mind it when you pay for some sort of service and the person doing it just doesn't do it and never manages to tell you even though you PAID for it to be done....crying over $20 isn't the point, its the shady tactics involved

  • You're totally right, if you paid for it, the job should be done, wether deemed necessary by the tech or not. But rotate every oil change? That's a bit extreme. Every other oil change is perfectly fine.

  • They were wrong for not doing the work they were paid to do. It has nothing to do with this guy rotating his own tires or changing his own oil. They were paid for a service and they did not do it and got busted.

The excuses they gave for not rotating tires is complete and total BS. Tires should be rotated to keep them in their best shape and give them their longest life.

It's not just Midas that pulls this garbage. Even your dealership will do it if you don't watch them carefully.

  • @keithkrez you obviously didn't watch the whole video. the REASON why the tread depths were even was because he rotates the tires himself every 3k miles. obviously if you cared about your car, you would continue doing that pattern

  • @keithkrez What is with the brake inspection?I am an automotive mechanic and I can tell you that a brake inspection without removing the tires is somewhat difficult or cplt impossible. He is not a jackass but points out very rightfully a system of cooperate American idiocy:baiting customers with rock bottom prices for service which is not delivered on in the end...way to go!

  • never go midas i had them change my breaks and turns out the fucked up the luggnuts and the treads so when i took off the tire to rotate myself the luggnuts got stuck. People there are dumbasses.

  • Its kind of a waste of time if you rotate your tires if they are wearing evenly.

Rotating tires at 6k miles more like a myth or suggestions because I have seen tires on a car for 10-15k miles with them still wearing evenly. Front and Rear wheel drive vehicles.

The mechanic shops like that are trying to get more cars in, so they are trying to get everything out as fast as they can. Also you technically didn't pay for a rotate because it was a free promotion. Just my .02 cents.

  • They did not rotate my tires either. Never again, they think that they are really clever...

  • next time, put grease/soot on the wheel nuts, so you can see if they even went near it

  • I understand your frustration but look into the industry, not the mechanic. YES, there are lazy, crap mechanics out there. But by part, we are forced to save time and make profit. You will be surprised (and technically you shouldn't be) that many, many, many other industries work this way.

  • @hotplates86

I know from experience the majority of mechanics cut corners and leave out parts. I was part of a large lot with 5 different repair shops/junk yards on it. There were piles of discarded parts from customer cars. Engine Cover? Nahhh. End up with left over bolts? Scrap.

  • I used to take a long time inspecting and be extremely thorough and you know what?????????? They thought because i did that, that i must be unconfident with my work and offered counselling sessions so i didn't "worry" so much about being perfect.

After that, i was disgraced with the industry but kept at it because, well im keen to keep learning and make money like any man or woman on earth.

  • Save time or be lazy? Both. We are lazy because we HAVE to save time. I stress this point to so many people but they don't get it. Our service advisors have fired people for taking too long and by taking too long, i mean, doing the job in the time quoted.

This saves labour costs and looks good on them. The company boss looks at these figures and is happy to see us being "super efficient."

  • OK here's an insider as i actually work at a dealership.

And let me assure you, it's most places that will give you that kind of work done. I have been to 5 workshops and watched other mechanics not doing the rotation.

I'd say he checked your brakes. The thing is, on some wheels you can see pretty clearly without taking the wheels off, how good the brakes are. He would've looked underneath with a a torch and maybe mirror to see them. This is to save time.

  • @GrumblingCustomer Thank You for being a vehicle owner who understands preventive maintenance I worked at a shop similar to Midas (refuse to name due to libel charges) and we had customers come in wanting a tire rotation when they needed new tires for their FWD cars most people don't understand tire wear and how important it is to rotate the tires but our service shop would say the exact same thing and it was strictly a money thing

  • The drums on some vehicles have a inspection hole, you remove a rubber grommet and it shows you the thickness of the shoes for drum brakes. Not every make has this convenient little grommet. I know Honda's do. Most newer ones anyways. Also take your car to someone who takes pride in what they do. Not some guy who looks at it as a job, and doesn't even further educate himself on the importance of rotating your tires. What I just heard sounded like a guy who had no clue what he was talking about.

  • On some cars, you don't really need to remove the tires to check the inboard and outboard pads. Is it a through check? No, it is not. You could go as far as checking the rotor thickness, drums per se etc. You could check the caliper pins to see if they need to be greases, drums shoes need to be adjusted? Checking the brakes generally refers to a "visual" inspection, especially since it is done for "Free".

  • weather or not the car needed the tires rotated isnt really the point here... its that they didnt do what they were paid to do. the service writer should have came up and told the customer that the tires were in good shape and offered to show him so that he could see it with his own eyes and that way it dont come off as shady. and also im not just some dumb ass kid, i am a service writer for a dealership

  • i rather do the oil change my self to all my cars.because all of those oil change places use recycled oil

  • lol rotating will make your wheel weights fall of?!?!?!?!?

  • If you use a bypass filter and Amsoil oil, you don't need to change your oil for 100 000 mi. +.

An oil change is nonsense with all the advanced molecular engineering. Also, rotating tires is nonsense as well. If a tire is wearing on one side, you should correct the wear problem first, and not pass the problem to the rotated tire. If you drive the speed limit the tire will perform as advertised, @ 100 000 mi. etc. But, you created an exciting video. How many crashed cars have rotated tires ?

  • @seapeddler YOURE AN IDIOT

  • @E150GT Yes, I'm an idiot. But I was only speaking truth, which you seem to have no tolerance for. God is in the engineering details. Next thing you will be trying to drain oil out of the Sun. No hard feelings. Have a nice day.

  • @seapeddler LOL yeah because oil never gets diluted by gas or loaded with carbon from the cylinder walls. good idea, i'd like to see any of your vehicles holding any kind of compression or not spinning a bearing after 200,000+

  • @Cordtus 200 000 mi. is a piece of cake with todays' trucks. A spun bearing, (i.e.) the insert tang being broken may be caused by insufficient clearance, or a 'nasty' with a file.

The limits imposed upon engine component life has to do entirely with poverty. Ceramic bearings will last 30 yrs. and withstand 350 000 psi. loads. The materials are there, but tool sales, parts, mechanics wages, etc. would suffer. Why don't companies install Pre-Lubers on engines? Like E.A Poe and the Telltale Heart.

  • yeah they tried to screw you and now you know

they never touched your brakes and im betting they probably only changed the oil filter itself and not your oil.

thats an old trick from back in the day,i quit a place like that when i was younger.

you should post the Address of that place so nobody else gets scammed.

  • We are glad to have customers like that. At least they show us the sorry ass mechanics that are getting paid for something and not doing.

  • Thumbs up for grumbling customer.

  • If you work on this business and think like that. I feel sorry for you. You must SUCK.

  • Mraitjer. Are you out of your fucking mind? I work on a service dept on a very succesfull dealer and this guy is totally right. He is paying for a tire rotation an oil change and a brake inspection. Those three have to be done regardless if the brakes are making noise or not. He alreadt told what he needs with the coupon. He doesnt have to explain why he needs done. If for any reason the tires shouldnt be rotated it should be explained to the customer before the facts.

  • Truth is your the 5% off people that can't have a smooth transaction for anything. It's just funny how the other 95% off the people never or rarely have an issue. I see it every day and its always the same people that make a big deal out of nothing. After 15+ years its not a big deal to me any more. I know its just ignorance and with a little time, patients, and a simple explanation and eventually things will start soaking into there thick heads. Most of the time this works.

  • @mrairjer Oh, cars don't need functioning brakes? Really? Apparently you didn't read the entire video description. One of the reasons I brought my car to this place was because the rear brakes were grinding but I couldn't get the drums off to see how badly they were worn. The brake check was part of the service, but since they didn't take the wheels off to do the tire rotation, they never looked at the brakes. Their loss- I eventually had the brakes done somewhere else that does honest business.

  • JIFFY LUBE IS ANOTHER PLACE THAT IS SHADY LIKE THIS! LOOK IT UP! SPREAD THE WORD!

  • @GrumblingCustomer--Thank you so much 4 doing this video. I recently got two of these Midas coupons along with my supermarket receipts and was thinking about taking my car in, especially since it offered a tire rotation. I had trashed the 1st one but kept the second one. Now I will trash it as well. Thanks for saving me the time and frustration by making us aware of this possible scam.

  • So fucking stupid. MIDAS is a POS. You ROTATE UR TIRES EVERY 5,000 MILES!!!! END OF DISCUSSION

  • @LightningMAS um no. you keep your wheels properly aligned and don't fucking hit curbs to screw that up, then your tires will NEVER need to be rotated unless you're spinning them constantly or have 70% of your vehicle's weight over one end...

  • @Cordtus Actually, a properly aligned vehicle still wears the edges of the front wheels more than the rear wheels because of angle of the spindle and momentem while turning, which is another reason for rotation. Check your facts.

  • I would have drug the smart ass across the counter. Believe me when i say this. good video though.

  • they wont rotate the tires doesnt matter if its rwd fwd or awd they always keep the good tires in the rear. they still should have pulled the front and back tires for the brake check anyway, some shops are not allowed to rotate them if their better in the front or not

  • That's why you keep an eye while they do the work. I usually do my work by myself rather then taking it to the shop. Those con artist is a bitch! try to scam people for the work that's not done.

  • id be pissed

  • Should have said idgaf i want them rotated

  • WHO were these SCUMBAG DIRTBAG PIECES OF SCAMMING LAZY DUMB ASS LYING DERELICT DOG SHIT PILES????. Notice how these "quicky" car places dump on "Joe Public" and scam the shit out of everybody. These clowns are some SERIOUSLY DIRTBAG SCUM! What lowlife thieving trash!!!! I think I personally would have busted that clowns face open with a tire iron and set the place on FIRE!!! What a bunch of scumbag deadbeat DERELICT INCOMPETENT CROOKED LOSERS!!!

  • why in gods name would you go to midas

  • @KyK5Ky Guess I had to learn the hard way. Believe me, after this incident, I won't go near Midas with a ten foot pole!

  • midas is as bad as jiffy lube

  • Good thing that we have you tube, better yet, bring it to one of your local media station. It would be more effective when it get on tv.

  • WOW GOOD INFO

  • Midas is full of shit!!! that is why never go to does idiots, not even for an oil change. But the friendly honda in dutchess did the same thing to me and i purchase the car there, actually my wife and daughter to that is three cars, and they had the balls to o the same thing and when i brought it to there attention, the manager came up with corndog excuses..so what i do is repair, and maintain them myself for that reason..good luck with these rip off idiots and the mechanic cry's thats no money..

  • my guess is you didn't get new oil and a filter ... either or one or the other ....

  • Well fuck midas, valvoline for me

  • I'm a mechanic. He didn't do the tire rotation cause it's annoying to do so. That's all. He should have done it, but it's just annoying to do.

  • @bhstone1 Uhhhhh NO he didn't rotate the tires (primarily) because it SAVES the con artists $, don't insult our intelligence by feeding us more BS that these retards already gave in the video...

  • @mookixox Dude, you don't seem to have even the most basic grasp on the English language. I said he didn't do it cause it's annoying, but of course he charged for it. It's annoying to take 4 tires off and swap them around, that's all. Next time you should learn to read and comprehend before you go flapping your lips.

  • That's what you get for being cheap. They use the cheapest oils and filters. The point is to get you inside and up sell you with that coupon. Learn how to do your won oil changes. It only takes 5-10 min. Buy higher quality oils, it will last longer and your engine will live longer also. If you don't want to do it for 19.00 what makes you think they want to with all that overhead and employees? Think about it.

  • This would NEVER happen in the state of Alabama. Southern States Ford in Montgomery charged for undercoat on new cars that was never applied. The verdict put the dealership out of business. If you charge for it...the customer better get it.

  • WOW i can believe he said 30k is when u rotate ur tires! DAMN that guy must of learned off the st.s! nd to top it off u put the flat tire wit a patch in the front so that it can burst due to the weight in the front of any fwd car? wow how did he get a job there? tires should be rotated every oil change! wow techs like these gives the rest of us real techs a very bad name!

  • @bestmastermind951 rotate tires every 10.000 miles going buy manf

  • Don't need to be rotated? Fine, give me my damn money back.

  • The joys of mechanics paid on "flat rate" they get paid by the job, if you do 1/2 the job you just doubled your wages cool eh?

  • Oh and the person on drugs is the one who wants to drive around on 60k tires. I dont give a n what anyone says thos tires of yours must be for shit in the rain.

  • You get what you desreve for going to a Midas or any chain like this. They do not employ mechanics and you are better off having him not touch your lug nuts.

  • The thing is, he paid for a service to be done, but they act like they did it. What would happen if he had paid full price and not a discounted one? You think he should have paid that extra money for the mechanic to not rotate the tires, basically earning himself money for work not done. If they didn't do it, they should have said we didn't do the rotation on the invoice.

  • yo! i swear if i was to win the lotto i would pay for a automotive course for a year and set up my garage and either put a under bay or put a lift to fix my own danm cars..and make sure that in my lifetime no stealer or mechanic would sit thier funky, shady, greasy asses in any of my vehicles..... any way fuckem I dont need them ..... dude I feel where you coming from... bro this is why i try to learn every thing for myself, I know we need help every now and then.. but i'll preach Education=KEY

  • I actually agree with the mechanic on this one. If all the tires are at 9/32nds why rotate them? He just saving time for you and him.

  • You know, I thought the poster was the bigger idiot for not understanding that if your tires have equal tread depth there is no point in rotating till I heard the Lube tard talk about fixing a puncture and steerability. You're both retarded as dog shit.

  • To tell you the truth, the reason he gave for not rotating the tires is completely valid. I see people come in all the time and want their tires rotated thinking that it's some magic voodoo that's going to extend their tire life, only to have the worst tires moved up front where they're going to wear out faster.

  • I FEEL YOU BRO !.....there are assholes everywhere these days !....If i have a business i would be the nicest person on earth !

  • I understand his reasoning for not rotating the tires. If the tread wear was even, they wouldnt need rotated. BUT if you also had a brake check in the deal, they probably didnt even check them. I do everything myself. It sucks that people get ripped off like this

  • This has been going on for YEARS. Bought a 'Service Certificate' for Midas that included Lube Oil Filter Tire Balance and Rotation Brake Inspection AND Front End Alignment all for just 29.95. they changed the oil... THAT WAS IT, NOTHING ELSE.

Fought the rest of it out of them and listened to them grumble the whole time.

  • thanks for posting, ill never use midas.

  • You only go to get your oil change once every 3 months , or 3k $45 is a small price to pay if you care about your car. Just saying man, if you want to be cheap, these small franchises have a shitty reputation for a reason and you're going to get what you pay for ..or don't get what pay for. ON top of checking over your car, we'll top off your fluids and do a thorough check over ...worth the extra 10-20 bucks. If we don't do what we do, check it over and try to sell you the work, you'll never kno

  • I agree with you 100%..but here is where I have to say you had it coming to yourself. You took your car to MIDAS!! I can tell you this, as a dealership mechanic we hold ourselves to a higher standard. Not all dealership do but for the most part, a reputable dealership will do you right. That same service at a dealer is $30-$45 something bucks. They will check your car over and try to sell you some work, but that's the point. You'll know what you need and you can always say no to it.

  • if your that damn worried about your car, do it yourself next time stupid.

  • @nhugheslp550 Maybe I wasn't able to, stupid. I couldn't change the oil because I lived in an apartment and wasn't allowed to work on the car in the parking lot. I tried rotating my tires while at the laundromat, but a cop stopped me, so checking the brakes was out of the question. I couldn't get the drums to come off anyway, which is why I brought it to Midas. They didn't touch the tires or check the brakes...I wonder if they even changed the oil?

  • @GrumblingCustomer Obviously not, because later on he will said "it looks ok to me". If I were you I would check on the oil stick to see if its clean. Better yet if its at least in minimum level. "Trust the Midas touch!" To touch your money into their pocket. Thumbs up!

  • @nhugheslp550 You're an idiot!!!! Good stuff Grumbling Customer. For more effect, you should have put a comma in between time and stupid, stupid. See how that kind of adds a little more emphasis, stupid.

  • @nhugheslp550 What a fagot remark.... some ppl are just plain rude... damn

  • Wow... what bullshit, its just a tire rotation... only takes a few minutes. :S

  • Midas is a horrible place to go for car services. I remember they were telling their customers that their rotors needed to be machined, but they really didn't need to. Just charged them the cost, but they caught and fine I believed.

  • WTF BULLSHIT IS THIS MY FRIEND RUNS A MIDAS AND IF YOUR TIRES NEED ROTATED AND THE BALLANCE IS OFF THEY RE WEIGHT TIRES 4 YOU THIS GUYS A LYING FUCKING CON ARTIST N ICE TO SEE YOU COUGHT HIM AND IT DONT MADDER IF U PAY FOR IT ITS ROTATED REGARDLESS OF TIRE DEP UNLESS AND MOST OF THE TIME SAY THE LAST 2 GOOD TIRES WERE ON UR FWD THEY WOULD TALK TO YOU FIRST BEFOR SOME COMMON BULLSHIT LIKE YOU HAD TO DEAL WITH >> REPORT THEM TO THE BETTER BISNESS BEUROW AND FILE COMPLANT THEY WILL BE FINED

  • "I paid for it"

Hey dipshit, did you see them take your tires off to check your brakes?

  • Dude, you should have gone much further with it. They think they won because in the end, you walked away. Just the type of person I am, though. I would have called him on his BS and talked to the manager.

  • they did it because they knew you should be able to do your own. it was to teach you a lesson

  • Bunch of Jack off's

  • Midas sucks.

  • I deal with cheap Bastards like you all the time so i actually check for stupid shit with markers and wipe them off if i do catch them. But for you to complain when you don't even need a tire rotation and paid only 20 dollars for the oil change alone you must be a said cheap fuck.
