  • Thank you for this video.

I became a fan of deGrasse after listeing to the audiobook 'Death by Blackhole'. He's one of those people who can explain complex concepts in Physics without making it sound daunting, and he's funny too.

  • He's kindof like a Carl Sagan, I guess.

  • That's funny. One of Neil's favorite stories is about when, as he graduated from the science school in the Bronx, he applied to a bunch of colleges, one of which was Cornell. He got a letter from The Carl Sagan (his emphasis), the head of the astronomy department there, inviting him to come and see Cornell. He went by bus; Sagan met him, walked him over the labs, gave him a signed copy of his book, and then took him back to the bus station. ...

  • ... It was snowing, and he told Neil that he was afraid the bus might not get through, so he wrote his phone number on a piece of paper. Neil says that if any graduate should ask him from help, whatever he's doing for the museum will go to the back burner and he will help out, as a result of Sagan's lesson in how to educate.

  • What an interesting story. Thanks for that, puncheex.
