  • amazing song

  • The song magically turns happy if you snap your fingers.

  • The sad part is that if this hadn't been in Portal, it might've been lost in the endless wave of music coming from nothing and ending in nothing.

  • This song makes me cry :(

  • One of the deepest, best songs I have ever heard.

Scrap that, it IS the best song I've ever heard.

  • Beautiful song...

  • Thumbs up if yo agree this picture should've been the cover to Portal 2

  • @TGPig Dude, look at that fanart, it is GREAT!

  • When i found the radio playing this song, i thought it was kind've wierd. But then i really listened to the song and i see why they put it into the game.

  • This song is the credits song in Walle. Which is kind of weird. 0.0

  • The dislike bar is like the spy.

You know it's there, you just can't see it.

  • This just makes me want to cry. :[

  • Anyone know where to dowload this? I can't find it anywhere!!!!!!!! ::::(

  • @KapeKaper It's on Itunes :)

  • You see that dislike bar? Neither do I.

  • I love GLaDOS voice and how funny she is Quote"How are you holding up? Because i am a potato."

  • Portal is the perfect game and this song summarizes the complexity and even inner sadness and freedom of the story beneath the comedy.

Chell has gone through so much, through so many trials; GlaDos will live forever without purpose, yet has granted Chell her freedom in the finale; Wheatley was a friend, but through dire mistakes he winds up drifting in space forever with regret.

    Portal forever, man.

  • @CountANDI deeepp... but totally true <3

  • I love this song so much that I memorized the lyrics.

  • I always felt really bad for Rattmann.

Especially when you stand by the wall and can hear him, to me it sounded like he was crying.

  • /watch?v=3ZhnGQXWi1U

    now watch this

  • @solokinks Portal isn't an fps. Have YOU played the game? It's a puzzle game anyway. -.-

  • @trainmaster555 Actually, it IS a fps.

Because it's in first person and you're shooting things.

    It's a puzzle game too.

  • @liquidzen56 I would just count it as puzzle, because fps is more of a title for "wary" games.

  • FUCK! I WANT A PORTAL 3!

  • @alimoejc you are one of those whos house is gonna burn down by lemons. and COD and Portal are fps. RPG is fantasy not Valve. you probably never played the game

  • Whow, whow, whow, apifiniy Portal 3 Story of the Ratman. I don't care if its redundant I love Portal.

  • @alimoejc

what the hell? Portal is an FPS/action adventure /puzzle game. Thats what makes it so unique and special.

  • Its not trial; its triumph; you can hear Phh at the end on it.

  • @Tinamegakit It sound's like that , but it's actually trial , because if you pay attention to the chapters on portal 2 in the beginning of the game you'd see next to the radio that play's the song , written on the wall it say's " does it feel like a trial ? " :)

  • I wanted to bring this Radio with the song all throughout the game... Until the particle destruction field destroyed it...

  • @Shadowtusk121 Soul crushing.

  • @alimoejc Portal 2 isn't an rpg. Its an action/adventure.

  • @alimoejc Portal 2 isn't an rpg...LERN 2 TRIFORCE

  • Who would've thought that something do touching could come from a game about solving puzzles :)

  • @NaZiZoMbIeFaNFMP You are retarded, arent you?

  • Voted for this song in the VGA's. I hope it wins.

  • @AveryChu "Setting Sail, Coming Home (End Theme)" by Darren Korb, Bastion, won :|

  • in wut charpter appears this sang???!!!

  • @GraysonHunt1 The one about English. (After you turn GLaDOS back on, you get to a test chamber where she throws a bunch of garbage at you. There is a radio in the garbage. Catch it and hold onto it. The area with the angled portal surfaces that launch you to the exit - look to the wall on the upper left. Portal there and on the first angled surface. Ride the faith plates and it'll launch you into a Ratman den where the radio picks up a signal and plays this song.)

  • I cant believe that this song was nominated in Spike's video game awards for best song in a game of 2011!

  • This song makes me happy, I think its because of how good it sounds.

  • @zr80ashton ... -.-

  • I just can't stop listening to it...... who else is the same Q.Q?

  • Just imagine, though. To be able to live forever, but seemingly have no purpose anymore. We all know we love GLaDOS.

  • @Nyetitall an endless live without any purpose, sounds terrible. but shes not human after all...but she behaved like one of us though : /

  • @Nyetitall

Well yeah we all love her, its weird, she tries to kill us at every turn of the corner, its like a form of Stockholm syndrome.

  • @sleepingeek In one of the first discouragement beam tests. There is a small room in the corner with a radio playing this.

  • Were do you find it in the game ?

  • when i found that song it helped me solve the test room :). Then i found out about the rat man. That was awesome!!!

  • This makes me feel empty, meaningless o.O

  • THIS is good music, not that rihanna, katy parry or pink shit Xd

  • @Exist64

    Hey, P!nk is okay.

  • @Saphruikan no. shes mainstream.

  • @Exist64

Doesn't mean it's bad. She actually has a decent voice, not like Rihanna or Katy Perry, who both suck.

  • @Exist64 i know what you mean. most songs now days are shit, the best songs on my mp3 are about 30 years old

  • @Exist64 or that Justine Shit hahaha

  • confusing, and touching in 1 thing! am i high?

  • Portal games were something like art. Good job Valve

  • @IrisxDK unforgatable games, they really were something VERY special *cries*

  • 5 people aren't thinking with portals.

  • is this song on the soundtrack? ive looked at the listings from vol. 1 & 2 and ts not there.. wtf's with that?

  • This is honestly one of the best, haunting songs i've ever heard but because it originates from a video game no one will ever take it seriously and we'll never see it in the charts, along with bullshit like Britney. But i'm so glad i've found it, and so glad it's from Portal, as if it couldn't have got any better :)

  • Vale:

Reaches out to the Emotionally distressed to.

-All that's left is the bronies :D

  • @superbros15

OH MY GOD. When they reach out to us I will rejoice.

  • A great song goes with a great game! -PC Gamer 11/10

  • Cave Johnson here, here to promote our new DLC game add-on! Now, the lab boys wouldn't tell me what it's like and that son-of-a-gun is still downloadin'. Pretty big stuff. The egg-heads said "It's a surprise" so.... I'm a little scared. Use caution.

    Cave Johnson, we're done here.

  • Was good to find the little room with the radio that played this. I sat back and smoked and listened...

  • The third volume of the soundtrack just came out and this song isn't on it. I'm kind of disappointed. :\

  • @AeonRider

the song is for sale on itunes.

It's not really...valve.......so the band who made it is retailing it.

  • In a world of computer-generated music (in Portal and our society today), this song sticks out immensely. For just a mere song, this alone is just as powerful as the game's plot. Bloody brilliance.

  • Oh and I just ordered the 7" vinyl of this track!!!!!! Can't wait!

  • This song is the equal to what Self Esteem Fund was in Portal 1.

  • Calm your tits.

    1) Go to Google

    2) Type in,"GLaDOS HD Background"

    3) Click "Images"

    4) Go fuckin' find it yourself c:

  • Not sure if game is better

or soundtrack TO the game is better.

  • Could we have a link to the picture please?:)

  • where did you get that GLaDOS background?

  • Their picture is my background for my xbox 360 dashboard.

  • This is one of the few games that I've enjoyed every second of it. Valve never fails to make a game filled with emotions!

  • this makes me sad T.T has anyone seen Exile Vilify Doug Rattman animation? its really sad D:

  • I refused to listen to this song the whole way through until I heard it in-game first.

    Beautiful piece.

  • Valve should have stuck to the origional plan where this was going to play at a secret, fake ending. That would have been great.

  • there is something about this song that makes me tear up a bit... Its a great tune.

  • Rattman...Good taste for music eh? Crazy Bastard...

  • damn you valve for being so awesome -,-

  • Why don't I remember this song? What part of Portal 2 was it in?

  • @Nickompoop It was in one of Rattman's lairs

  • In one word : Life

  • I think mostly of glados while thinking of this. When you really think about this she's really just one hurt tortured woman forced to live beyond her time. forced to watch everyone around her wither and die, built with a need to torment people that she can't control, vilified. Twisted into a homicidal manic. Hoping one clever test subject might make it through and end her pain.

  • @6611nitro wow tha that was butiful

  • @plzwork100 Thanks i just try to see things from the villains point of view in story's like this

  • @6611nitro well it could be shes just bat shit insane! :D

  • This song doesnt make me thing of chell. This song reminds me of the ratman. Hiding, surviving, just trying to figure things out. just making his way along in life trying to find some sort of meaning, yet to no avail.

  • When i heard this song on the Radio in that test chamber, I simply stopped in my tracks and thought about the motives behind the game, the complex emotions that run through the game. Its amazing how a piece of music can trigger so strong emotions, especially in the atmosphere of Portal 2. I play games because of the environments they create, an escape from reality, like an good book, That is why i despise Call of Duty, its story is not engrossing and thought provoking like Portal 2 was.

  • @MadKingCorp Made you think about the people who died.

  • @MadKingCorp I agree 100% I play games for the stories they tell.

  • @MadKingCorp COD 4 story was amazing though :D

  • @MadKingCorp you play games because of the feeling/atmosphere they create* : )

  • @MadKingCorp i think the atmosphere created in portal 2 was one of the best ive ever experienced in a game before. You honestly do feel like a lab rat, you have no idea what the outside world is like, you're always being told waht to do, you're very lonly, this song makes it even sad.

  • @MadKingCorp well call f duty and portal 2 are totally different genres of games. Call of duty is a fps and portal 2 a rpg.

  • @alimoejc but just because CoD is a fps doesn't mean it can't have a good story like portal 2.

  • @ehlekcranky14 True, look at TF2. Awesome story.

But, the point still stands. An RPG is based on and runs on complex story.

A serious, and albeit poorly done, FPS like CoD is based in "bang bang, kill them dead" thinking for the feeble minded and easily entertained.

  • @alimoejc Are you retarded?

  • @SHdudeproductions i never played portal, but i never thought of it as an action adventure or an rpg, i thought it was a stratagy/puzzle game

  • @alimoejc

Portal 2 is a puzzle game, not an rpg.

  • Portal is such a wonderful game. It has those moments where you can burst out laughing, then repeat the lines and people stare at you funny. Like once I randomly said "I'm a potato!" and loled in public. But then you get so absorbed in the game, and so "into it" that the parts like where GLaDOS realises who she is, you start to feel a tear run down you cheek. The music in this series is one of the best in any game, and when I listen to this, It makes me cry every time. Excellent Job Valve...

  • The first time I heard this, I thought the lyrics were "Doesn't feel like a triumph" a reference to "Still Alive."

  • I feel like this song was written for Doug.

  • i hope valve learns to count to three or else... lets just say.. they wont be living anymore

    (GLaDOS and door mainfrain refrence)

  • Just lovely.

  • i have that as my background for gmod

  • @sparkie1j where u get the pic

  • @Lunaizle gmod.org

  • Am I the only one who cares about Chell and Wheatley?(I don't have to talk of the other AI You know of the third one.)

  • @GlaDos321

Where did you find the picture in the video?

  • Dedicated to Doug Rattman former scientist from Aperture science, well in the comic at least.

  • LAW DICTATE ME TO TELL YOU ....THIS SONG IS SOUNDING PRETTY GOOD

  • Why the hell anyone would dislike this video guess they have a sucker's luck

  • Absolutely Beautiful song.

  • The more I think about the portal universe the more I love it.

  • @AveryChu The picture fits the song well.

  • For reference that hasn't been placed. This picture was drawn by a chap on Deviantart called "Gavade"

  • @avengance10 Thanks, I was very interested in knowing the origin of that image!

  • @avengance10 dude thank you sssoooooo much

  • I remember when I found the little radio playing this song in one of the test chambers. I was so happy because I felt so alone in the big laboratory even with GLaDOS, Wheatly and the turrets around me. So I carried my radio friend around as I completed the test :)

...but then it got fizzled :<

  • @xKurtlix I did that too. :D I carried it everywhere I went in that test chamber. I was so sad when it disintegrated. Such a beautiful song.

  • @xKurtlix you felt so alone playing a video game...lol

  • Love the picture. So nice, calming.

  • simply... beautiful. no else to say

  • heh, sounds like wall-e in slow motion.........imagine that

  • SPAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • I remember during this chamber I carried the radio with me while doing the test cause I loved the song so much and I just waited till it was over before I went on to the next chamber =u=

  • i wish i could forget everything about portal and portal 2 and just replay them again, it was one of the best game series ever

  • @wolfmaster5503 Agreed

  • @wolfmaster5503 So true, just almost cried when was reading it q,q :P

  • @wolfmaster5503 That;s something I've wished about a lot of games, Valve ones especially. Nothing quite beats playing a game for the first time, going in knowing nothing. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @wolfmaster5503 I couldn't have said it better myself. I was reluctant to purchase this game but once I did I fell in love. The story, the characters, the dialogue and everything about this game is so beautiful. I found this Easter Egg the first time I played Portal 2 and I instantly took my hands off the keyboard and mouse and just listened. Portal 2 evokes so many emotions it's unbelievable.

  • This is dedicated to all the Portal 2 fans! :D

    watch?v=1RXVT_IwfnI

  • I payed £40 for this game..........Now it feels like £250 this game is really worth it and i recommend listing to this song while reading RAT-Mann portal comic :)

  • I felt sorry for Chell. Being all alone in Aperture with no one Human to talk to. :( At least Gordon had other people arouund him. Listening to this song on the radio made me feel so comfortable in that dark place. I still can't believe Stephen Merchant voiced Wheately ! :D He was so cute. And this song makes me feel even more emotional for Episode 3 to be finished already :'(

  • DOS it feel like a trial?

  • 4 people are potatoes

  • dGhpcyBzb25nIG1vdmVzIGV2ZXJ5b25lLiBhbnlvbmUgd2hvIGRpc2xpa2VzIHRoaXMgc29uZyBpcyBhIHBlcnNvbiB3aG8gaXMgYSBzb3VsZXNzIGZyZWFrLiB0aGlzIHNvbmcgbWFrZXMgeW91IGxpbmsgYWJvdXQgbG9zdCBsaXZlcywgaGFyZHNoaXBzLCBhbmQgd29lLiBhbnlvbmUgd2hvIHNheXMgb3RoZXJ3aXplIGlzIGEgc291bGxlc3MgZnJlYWsgb2YgbmF0dXJlLg== for anyone who doesnt know, the statement is in base64.

  • @williamstoo Never thought this deeply... before I started to listen to the soundtracks, they moved me. Especially this song. It was made specially for portal 2.

  • Also, the guy sounds like he's singing in his sleep.

  • That's an amazing pic of glados!

  • I just cryed on this Song

  • Where did you get the picture? It looks awesome.

  • This song always makes me emotional :<

  • I tried to bring this radio with me but...the emancipation grill :'(

  • 3 people had suckers luck

  • @FakeAndGhrey

I'm pretty sure that'd actually make them like this song even more. >.>

  • Valve has a way of putting an emotional note into their games.... I just found that note :)

  • @zapp800 I found the radio for it in the game about 2 days ago.

  • @zapp800 Valve: The Pixar of gaming.

  • @GamingForTheGamers people keep saying im mad for saying that but its true

  • @LayZburger

Anyone who says otherwise is insane.

  • @zapp800 To a degree, Valve actually didn't make Portal 2, it was a bunch of grad students with a degree in game making or something. Yes, Valve helped, but the credit goes to the small group of students. Plus, you can see most of Valve's games lacks the sort of comedic point that Portal 2 had (aside from portal 1).

  • @Jackpot807 actually The 7 students made portal 1. portal 2 was made by a whole team of 30 - 40 people.

  • @yf1995123 ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

  • @Jackpot807 No. Some Digitech students came up with the idea of using portals as a gameplay mechanics. Valve liked it, and hired these students to further develop this idea, which was then integrated into Portal. For Portal 2. some other Digitech students came up with the idea of using gels as a gameplay mechanic. Again, Valve hired these guys to develop their idea integrated it into Portal 2. The actual story of the two games were written by Valve's awesome writers.

  • When does this come on?

  • @Marioking707 You can find a music producing device in one of the Rat Man's dens.

  • Vilify... The cake is a lie...

  • 0101010001101000011001010010000001100011011000010110101101100101001000000110100101110011001000000110000100100000011011000110100101100101

  • Caroline isn't gone. There has to be a back up. You don't think they would let her delete herself like that? Caroline is still in there somewhere...

  • @TFLWProductions GLaDOS lied. She's epicly devious like that :D
