  • And that's the way it is, 'cause Stone Cold (Larry Potterfield) said so

  • This system is very skewed... I don't understand how this gun scores more than the XD Sub Compact. Same 1.5 to first hit... XD got 5 hits... Kimber 3... I think 5 9mm's is more dead than 3 .45's

  • Yes the gun is great when it comes to firepower, but for concealed carry you have to consider weight, size, thickness, and other factors that contribute to concealability. This gun is relatively heavy and is larger than any pocket carry gun, it can only be carried in the waistband or shoulder holster.

  • larry i want to say that isnt the way it is but it just is the way it is.

  • Thats the way it is....bitch

  • I have nothing nice to say. I am still going to say it. This guy is a chump. Plain and simple. His tests are flawed and ridiculous. I don't even think he caries concealed. DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS MAN

  • Scores extremely well. But in 6 important areas?

  • It ranks pretty well? if im not mistaken this pistol was 40 points from a perfect score. i think it did a little better than "pretty well"

  • Why have I NOT seen this channel. This video PERFECTLY sums up the advantages of my UCII.

  • the ppk/s are more accurate.

  • @leeradio13

    How so?

Its .380 so what does accuracy matter when it takes double the amount of shots to be effective?

AND it has 1 less round capacity.

  • Come on, Larry! You've got to work those big 45 bullets down lower on the target! Just kidding, another great although relatively inaccurate assessment of concealed carry guns. Consider reviewing the M249 SAW for concealed carry next time. I hear it has a really high 5 second round hit rate!

  • is it a frame fixed barrel? and also, is it smaller and lighter than the .380 ppks? thanks.

  • I think thats his prostitute gun.

  • It does not matter how much "force"(i think you are refering to energy) you have. It depends on the amount of work (energy transfered) to the target. The bigger the diameter and geometry, the more energy you can transfer. Because of this the .45 caliber CAN transfer 1.6 times more energy than a 9mm. If there is over penetration(it went through the target), not all the energy was transfered... rendering the added power useless.

  • I would love these videos if he went over more than 3 factors. Things that are needed: concealability and reliability most of all. And get rid of the ridiculous Hollywood notion of bullets knocking people down. Physics, they don't work like that.

  • @Dizzarchangel by knock down factor, i think he means just the sheer amount of energy transfer from bullet to body (e.i. .45 acp 185 gr has 815 joules of energy) Plus if something traveling at 1200 fps and hitting you with 800 pounds of energy wouldn't knock you on your ass, what the hell would then.

  • @TheGrankuma There's no such thing as pounds of energy, energy is measured in joules. Ek=1/2mv^2, consider that m is relatively small for this, and absorbed energy from the impact may be small if it went right through. It'll do some serious, serious damage but the overall push of the bullet would actually be kinda small, especially if it goes through. Stopping power's not the ability to like, push people back and stop them moving forward, it's the ability to take them down with the round

  • @baneat Wounding Ballistics, the temporary wound cavity the force of the round impacting and entering flesh makes, thats stopping power.

  • the reason it ranks higher is because its a smaller and lighter gun, so its quicker off the draw and that gave it more points. i do agree that a full size is better, but the accuracy at distance wasn't accounted for. also a full size 1911 isn't nearly practical as a CCW so the result does make sense

  • how could a compact 1911 perform better than a full size? FAIL Larry. I'm a fan of his, but that is B.S.

  • @sldrmike The difference was the TTFH score. The stock Gvt. model 1911 sights suck, and are hard to pick up quickly. Put some good combat sights on the Gvt. Model 1911 and watch that score go right up.

  • Thank you for your good revew and keep up the good work

I like your quick and to the point I sudugest give weight as well

    Do more guns lots more

    Pm49

    Pm45

    Kel tec pf9

  • These people should not ever be taken seriously EVER. Their "time to first hit" stat is stupid, because they still have the human variable, and he's picking the gun up off the table, not from a holster, like you would in real life. Again, the accuracy variable has a human variable, and as for the "knockdown power" thing, it's all about shot placement when it comes to handguns. All handguns are weak. Besides, there are way more variables than this.

  • @fredjustsucks "all hanguns are weak" thats a damn lie, a 357 magnum aint weak, and a .44 magnum aint weak it can kill BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the .500 magnum aint weak, it can kill ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Kane16802 Would you carry a .500 every day? I know what you mean but compared to most rifle rounds the handgun cartridges are weak.

  • @PGTRegard erry day? fuck no not ever

  • Got and love it. I'm 6'6 285lbs and have great control over. For those who haven't shot it it is very very accurate under 15 yards. 7 yards, which seems to be the distance you don't wanna go beyond for an attack if you can carry legally, after about a month of shooting I can hit bulleye's with ease. I don't recommend a 1911 for the beginner it is a professional's pistol.

  • you know... this show forgets a lot of things, when talking about a concealed carry... like conceivability and number of rounds... give me 16 9mm over 7 .45, any day...

  • Kimber makes the Crimson Carry exclusively for Gander mountain. Its this pistol with rosewood looking grips and crimson trace laser. Sweet little weapon.

  • I want one!!!!!

  • you had a group that was probably 4" across just above the plate lol. I think a slight change in sight picture and you would've had a carry gun with a perfect score =P

  • I think it's funny, 12GaugeLosAngeles's complaint about WW2 guns, when the 1911 was a WWI gun. But I have to agree with his point... those guns are much too modern! How about a personal defense review of the Colt Peacemaker SAA? No, no, still too modern. How about the Philadelphia derringer? We could even go way back... to the thrown rock!

You know, that would make a great spoof video!

And, as always, I just love these personal defense videos. Always look forward to seeing another.

  • : )

  • Very Good. It would be great to see Larry doing a video with the 24/7 TaurusPro 4"chambered for 9mm

  • Larry can review anything he damn well pleases

  • @patriotpanda amen to that.

  • @patriotpanda Hes a Mis-informed goon, who rated a 127grain 9mm +p JHP to be of higher knockdown force than a 230 grain .45acp JHP.

  • @patriotpanda

Cause that's the way it is.

  • THANK YOU SIR.... we are in the 21st century... please, don't review WW2 guns...

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles Hey, you don't like the video's then don't watch. Or as my Mother used to say, if you don't have something nice to say keep your piehole shut.

  • @Rattler45cal I guess you idiots don't understand, i like this video... i know it's history "most people"... yada yada yada. I know the Browning design, school your child, cause i'll school you boy. I liked this video, i don't like outdated rifles.. andi know this guns design is from 1911, shut up... stupid.

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles We're in awe of your vast knowledge ya simple bastard. Who reallt cares what you like. Just shut the hell up ya whiney ass.

  • @Rattler45cal Thanks Rattler, It's nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks 12GaugeLosAngeles is a fucking douch-bag moron.

  • @klesmer If your like me you appreciate the folks that go to the time and trouble to post quality informatative vid's, especially a company like MidwayUSA. And I just get tired of some of the chuckleheads who do nothing but whine. Then gets called on it and gives a history lesson and the excuse he meant another gun. Blowhards like that just irritate me to no end. Most of us who collect, carry or are enthusiats know the history of these weapons. I thank you Sir for your comments. You are quality.

  • @Rattler45cal Thanks Bro.

  • @klesmer Learn to read, and you won't get mad replying blind. Cockmuncher. This gun is from the 1911 design, not a ww2 gun... like lugers ect. Shut up beotch, i'll smack you.. and that's the way it is.

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles Any time you feel froggy you little motherfucker come down to south Florida and be owned.

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles

we used the 1911 in ww2

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles Why re-invent the wheel?

Also while the Kimber Ultra IS a 1911 which is techically a pre-WWI design, the subcompact 1911 with a lightweight frame is a very modern update.

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles 1911 type pistols are one of the most popular guns out there right now. Companies slightly modified them from their original design, but if you look at almost all shooting competitions, 90% if not higher of all shooters use 1911 type pistol...1911s have, in my opinion, the best and crispiest trigger out of all production guns...im not talking about custom ones of course...even a Sig shooting team, not using 226, they are using a Sig1911...so good job Larry, keep it up...

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles

Didnt you hear Uncle Larry? Thats the way it is , BITCH! HAHA

    Ω

  • @om3gadagg3r Ha ha ha, that would be funny.
