In NYC, Mayor Bloomberg's Administration stole vast parcels of land surrounding Brooklyn and Willets Point, Queens using Eminent Domain. The land was given to private developers and billionaires to build tax-payer funded billion dollar stadiums for the Nets and Mets.

Hang in there. As a boy, raised in Stamford, I remember when Curley's was on Atlantic Street next to the YMCA. Curley's has been a landmark for decades.

Back in the early 60s, the URC started tearing down parts of Stamford. Where the Stamford Town Center is located, like Frank West Hardware moved to little Summer St., all of the stores were moved out. Old timers will remember Pacific St. and the church became a parking lot and later Caldor on the corner Summer & W. Broad. Many changes.
