  • WOW it looks great its so fantastic !!!

    5 Stars

  • where do you get all they cool bodys?

  • @dkbmxer2 You can buy almost any model car from a hobby shop or somewhere, and as long as it fits on the chassis it will work.

  • is that a snorkel i see on the passengers side?

  • I have looked and looked for bodies for my xmod,,I have the f150,,can you tell me where i can get diff bodies please?

  • if u want anything other that f150 titan or hummer you have to buy 1/24 scale models and custom make a bodie like this one

  • did you alter the steering as i find my titan rubs on full lock (on the chassis) when i use ;arge tyres?

  • Hey, i like that GMC, can you make a video, or slideshow about it?

  • know any sites that all kinds of custom tutorials? Also, what music is that?

  • go chevy!!!

  • i noticed u have a winch does it work any good?

  • he has a vid of it in use and i have made one following his tut it works very good. although i putit on my custom trailer to pull my cars up in it.=b

  • yo man i was wondering if you would be able to make like a hot rod ford 100 if so tell me

  • Sorry bro, i'm kinda too busy to make any custom stuff for anyone at the moment. I kinda work on my spare time with these things and I don't have as much spare time as before.

  • dude did you sell this

  • yeah, i traded it awhile ago.

  • ware do u live i want 2 know how you do all the wiked custome stuf

  • when adding a servo on a truck does it replace the motor?

  • only if you use the servo as a crawler motor. I used a modified servo for the motor and another one for the winch on this truck.

  • would a tamiya gearbox have anything close to torque and speed like the servo?

  • It would be better but it's alittle too big so you would have to fit it under a SUV type body so that it doesn't show as much.

  • great xmods but u shood try nitro rc cars u wood hav more fun with them

  • Too loud, too expensive to fix, and needs too much maintenance to keep it working great - besides those things I burnt my hand on one once and I hated them ever since -lol. These are cheaper, smaller, and don't need too much to get them rolling anywhere.

  • dude seriously that truck is bad ass

  • can tell me how to gear them down to have alot of torque like that please i have xmod but idk how to gear it way down

can i have ur email er something to contact you

  • If you join up on the Xmod forums you'll find a tutorial for making a servo motor - it's the best one for crawling.

  • are you using a servo

  • Yeah, I have a servo for the steering and the rear motor aswell.

  • correction - It's for the winch and the rear motor that i'm using the servos for.

  • hey were did you get that snorkle

  • Custom made with putty and a part from another model.

  • are these xmods or mini z

  • Xmod Evo truck chassis with a custom model body.

  • i'm getting in to these xmod's are u just using the model tops for these??

  • i'm getting in to these xmod's are u just using the model tops for these??

  • Basically - yes. I don't use the plastic chassis unless i have to cut the wheel well off of it. I just make a custom shell out of the plastic 1/24 or 1/25 kits.

  • did you use a model truck kit by amt?

  • Yep - it's the AMT '84 GMC pickup truck model that I used for this one.

  • are you running stock electronics??

  • yeah - it's all stock.

  • where can i find the servo motor

  • try ebay or any hobby store that sells r/c airplane stuff.

  • like hobby usa

  • ok ty!!! i will post a vid of my titan later

  • how do u make it slow but strong?????

  • i used a 360* modified hitec hs-55 servo as a motor.

  • How do you get the suspension to articulate like that? I don't have one so I wouldn't know.

  • Well you have to modify the rear swivel piece that connects the rear axle to the middle compartment. There's some plastic pieces that you have to cout off so that it can articulate more.

  • Do you have to buy anything?

  • well you need also need the offroad lift kit with offroad tires to lift the chassis abit higher off the ground. Once you got the lift kit and you cut the plastic tabs that blocks the articulation - you should get some good height for those tires in the rear.

  • How long a runtime does it get?

  • about a good 15 minutes or so of continuous running - I use RS rechargeable batteries.

  • It seems like it should last for hours on just a servo with it geared so low lie that!

  • Well, it does last abit longer but I was just giving an overall estimation.

  • how much would you sell it to me 4

  • It's current on the "sale pending" shelf and it's pretty much what the same price that I mentioned before.

  • so me your motor and gearing

do you run the stock cpu chip

  • ya - it's just a servo so stock fets is good

  • Nice xmod body man, just one question, did u make the snorkel? I just wanna know because i would want one on my Hummer xmod

  • I made it using a piece from another model and tamiya epoxy putty - you can be be creative and use other stuff too.

  • your trucks are always the best scale/realistic xmod off-road vehicles around. Good job!!!

  • Thanks dude!

  • how did you get the servo to work as a motor? pm me plz lol..

  • how much would you sell it to me 4

  • sweet! put up a vid so that I can check it out - it sounds powerfull.

  • ok.

  • would you sell it to me 4 $105

  • I'm not selling at the moment and if I do sell it I have someone that will pay 2X that amount for it shipped( since that's what I would have set it for on Ebay as a "buy it now" opt.).

  • How did u mount the body to the chassis?!?!?!

  • I made custom mounts for the mount using styrene plastic.

  • Could u possibly send me pictures of the chassis and body set-up. I have a 1:25 scale 1993 Ford F-150 that fits my wheel base on my xmod F-150 and I would like to do something similar to this.

  • Go to XMS,XI, 4x4scalerc or atomicmods forums adn look up the threat that I did for this truck - it's under GMC#2 project. All the pics of the entire build is in there.

  • where do you get one of those and how hard is it to change the motor???

  • The servo you can probably buy from any hobby store online or from ebay. if you visit any of the xmod forums you'll find the tutorial on how to change the motor to a servo motor - it's about an 8 ( scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the hardest)

  • i need help with speed control

  • the speed control is all about the gearing on xmods. I have a servo motor mod on this truck that's why it's so slow.

  • could you make a body of a dodge am or a chevy truck to fit the titan chasis?

  • The Chevy trucks i use have a long wheel base so most of the time I have to modify the body (model) to fit the titan/f-150 chassis. the titan and f-150 are the same chassis except for the front clip -lol

  • does the snorkel work

damn where do u find all these add ons

  • LOL - that's just an accessories that i made myself. it's a part from another model plus putty thta I use to make that snorkel :)

  • very awesome truck &videos! i love the way you make it crawl &not jerky, i just got a nissan are all the wheels sloppy loose, mine was from the get go!

  • You need the metal bearings to get rid of the front slope, and also put stiffer springs in the front - it really helps too.

  • sweet expedition on ebaylooks like my dads....will you ever sell a body on ebay the fits the nissan titan?

  • I mustly make them to fit the hummer or the f-150 but you can always just change the clip to make the body fit aswell.

  • Just curious, I'm working on an Xmod Hummer.. What did you make the snorkel out of? And sweet rig.!

  • I used tamiya epoxy putty and piece from a model's engine ( i believe it was the carborator). I just cut it and used the putty to get the it to look like the snorkel.

  • i got a 64 impala u can use walmart model bodies on the trucks

  • Yeah you can but it would have to be the same wheel base for it to work.

  • ok i'll think about it

  • np ;)

  • whats your profile

  • click on my screen name in here and it should take you to my youtube page.

  • if you are going to sell it then email me at drummerman85@hotmailcom

  • i'll keep you in mind. If I do i'll likely put on ebay for bidding. Unless you make a decent offer that I can't refuse then i might concider letting it go. (*note: send message on my profile for offers)

  • how much would you sell it for

  • This would go for over a $100+ - it has the functional winch plusa servo motor mod and all the upgrades for the chasis. It also has the custom interior details and a driver in the cab not to emntion all the other small details that makes this one more unique.

  • or your chevy blazer

  • not at the moment - maybe later on ebay or something.

  • will you sell this truck

  • where did you get the body if you built it then how did you build it

  • it's a plastic static 1/24 or 1/25 model. I just used the same idea of how the original xmods' body fits onto the chasis and I made my own mounts using plastic sheets ( styrene) to make the them.

  • what if u try and waterproof it so u can drive tru water

  • too much work plus even if you do water proof it - you're still running the risk of messing up something or the other.

  • thanks

  • you're welcome!

  • sorry i keep on asking u questions alot but can u make some how-to videos because i am a beginner at xmods and want 2 know how to lock the diffs and other stuff

  • go to the xmod forums and look at the how-to section or the tutorials - there's is alot of info in there on all the stuff to do on gen1 and evo xmods

  • what if you made like sum kind of trailer for your gmc and hitch the trailer on an xmod so the gmc cood b towed around

  • I have trailers but they're too low to be towed around by this GMC ( it's abit too high). I would ahve to make a custom htich for it but I'll look into that later.

  • try putting a rear winch that wood bee awsum

  • That would be cool but it would put alot of strain on the board and maye even blow the fets ( i just have stock fets so too much could overload it and burn them up)

  • what kind of xmod r u making now?

  • I'll be doing a SSMT custom 1/24 rockcrawler now. It will have independent axles instead of an xmod chasis.

  • do you know what super swamper tires are?

  • it the same tires that are on this truck - it from aoshima model kits or go online and you can find some for sale by themselves.

  • hey dude nice work ;)i will upload my police unit car and u will see and my work just w8 few days =)

  • however, i still need to get some stuff online such as:

1.metal replacements for some of the chassis for durability and lower center of gravity

    2.carbon fiber driveshaft

3.composite gears (toothpick takes out a lot of torque, and the composite gears i hear don't slip

4.locking differentials (a must for any serious off roading)

  • All sounds good but mine here just has all the RS upgrades plus the servo mod and it works pretty good (doesn'tcost as much as you'll end up spending).

  • yeah, i was hoping i could find something cheaper. where do u get the servo mod (and what does it do), and where do u get locked differentials. even with the upgrades ur talking about, i think i might still get the others because it'll perform that much better. i've been saving money for a while, so now idk what to do with it...

  • LOL - don't spend it all in one place. The servo is just a micro Hi-tec HS-55 Servo with a spur gear adpoted to it plus it's modified to spin 360* so it functions like a normal motor but with awhole lot of torque.

  • ok, where can i get it, and how much do i have to modify it myself. i like putting the pre packaged thing on, not packaging it then putting it on. and how much does the servo cost? where can i get locking differentials? and do u have any idea how i can get a tighter turning radius?

  • well the servos are around $15 and you would have to do some mods to the motor mount to get it to fit. The lock differentials are easy to do- just super glue the stock diff so it does spin. As for the turning radius - there's nothing much you can do about that for the lifted version -it's all there is.

  • well if you have to do that much modding to the servo, and you have to superglue the differential (i don't like doing things i can't undo) then forget it. but i might get an extra set of differentials from atomicmods for lockers.

  • yeah - sounds good too!

  • i like ur car stylez your carz are very nice

  • thanks dude!

  • ive got a hummer h2 that i think has a pretty good setup. all parts for it can be found at radioshack

    1.awd

    2.lift kit/tires

3.stage 1 motor (more torque than stg 2 with 8:25 gear ratio and heat sink)

    4.ball bearings

    5.nimh batteries

6.i put a piece of a toothpick in the awd case so that the gearing wouldn't slip up.

  • dude how do u mod the xmod to perform like that?

  • nice car

  • Nice video and well done custom GMC truck on the xmods chassis. Five stars!!
