  • Writers wrote it Singers sung it Portugal kicked out of eurovision. Writers not read eurovision rules???

  • desgraça ...

  • Where to find english lyrics?

Xau Laura

  • should have won it

  • Pessoal... que vozes horriveis. Quem votou nisto? Que vergonha!

  • This is horrible... And I'm a Tuga!

  • Am i the only one who laughed all the way through!?

  • Eurovison was trolled.

  • It doesn't matter if Portugal get a better song or not, as Portuguese even I can see that. The contest has nothing about putting a message across or anything, it is all about politics.

  • Im Spainish and this sounds like german mixed with Latin 0_0

  • @AdeoF You still should be able to understand a little bit of it.

  • honestly speaking, as a portuguese, we all knew this wouldn't be a good choice for ESC, but fuck it, im proud of it. These men took our language to the contest and tried their best. At least we can be proud of them for singing in our own language, showing Europe a bit of our culture, which is alot more than some countries did in the contest (seriously, there are so many awesome languages in Europe, why must they sing in English?). btw next time we wont suck as much.

  • I think the girl with red hat is hot!!

  • I know what the message is about guys but seriously?

This is "Eurovision Song Contest" not "Eurovision Song PROtest"!

  • @Blueknightex yOU KNOW, BUT THE TUGAS DON'T KNOW.

  • @Blueknightex Uh, what is the message?

  • @Blueknightex who cares. i only listen to crap in eurovision.

  • To be honest, even though this had a message, Emanuel would have been good in this (but this song was still amazing anyway).

  • I think I get what these people are trying to say. Even though I've been to Portugal every year, these guys are talking about how fake Eurovision is and how they are not being fair to the countries and France, Spain, UK and some other countries are ALWAYS in the finals even if their songs are shit. NOT FAIR! Also, if I'm correct, this song may be a failure but it's the ONLY song (I think) in Eurovision history to have a message to everyone.

  • @EddyTheOliveira

"France, Spain, UK and some other countries are ALWAYS in the finals even if their songs are shit."

We put the most money towards this awful contest, without those countries, Eurovision wouldn't even exist.

  • who put the cat in the blender

  • FAIL

  • the guy on left is black.

  • FYI people, this is the FIRST time I repeat FIRST TIME in Eurovision history that Portugal failed to qualify in the finals.

  • @Blueknightex Well atleast they sent a big 'FUCK YOU' to Europe.

  • Is it me or San Marino's flag is in every video?

  • I am portuguese and I really like Homens da Luta but my first reaction when I saw on the news that this song wont the song contest I was like "What?! They won't win the eurovision contest for sure... And not even going to the final"..... Anyway I like the song... But it is just not the right one for the Eurovision...

  • I am portugese and the song is shit!

  • Portugal: land of Luis de Camões, Fernando Pessoa and the first ever to troll eurovision

  • I loved Portugal 2010

But this year was a disaster

  • @Kratatch no, I think it should have at least "original" songs, not just the same manufactured poppy crap over and over, or even better it should just end. who cares about eurovision anyway?

  • i like the song very much..aside from the political message. nice beat..nice melody!

    greets from austria

  • their cool cuz they used their native language...

  • I appreciate the fact that these people were trying to give a message to Europe. Try to listen it! Greetings from Greece, love you Portugal!

  • @marthaelisa10001 Hi! I love greece so much :) i've been 3 times :D love you greeks! Hi from the UK!

  • hahaha

  • Sweden eurovision 2011

  • Song sucks, but It seems like a message to the government or something. Good for them

  • you cant understand portuguese but you understand spanish?? i dont understand.

  • @tiagom135 espanhol e tao complicado quanto o portugues...

  • @Lusitanus na

  • @tiagom135 isso e o que dizem os burros!!

  • It's a good message and a good way to spread it, but they did it in the shittiest way possible.

  • There's a message in this song, but the rest of Europe can't understand so they see this as rubbish

  • @SaschaaaBamxx thats because europe is ignorant to countries inside europe.

  • For those who say that this song is horrible what it sees that you do not understand all the words. I am Portuguese and I am proud of my origins they said what they thought and it is very good Portugal. And at least unlike some other songs they have sung in Portuguese that is the language of their country and not in English to do more "cool" according to them and for me that's the concept of Eurovision.

So stop criticizing this song because there are many things to criticism on other songs.

  • for every single of you stupid fucktards saying this is bad music, u don't even understand the lyrics so fuck you...simple as that

and all or most of other countries sang in english...they should sang i'm they're native language like Portugal did.

    PORTUGAL FALA-SE PORTUGUÊS CARALHO!!!

  • I think the reason for that people dislike this performance and song, is simply because they don't understand one single word.

  • @Skopuningurin they dont understand because they dont want to, there are translation on the web.

  • I LOVE IT! At least it wasn't as fuckin boring than the rest of Eurovision!

  • they had balls to perform that....

  • OMG, who isn't portuguese and doesnt aproves this music is a complete retarded asshole (with the intention to offend seriously), it's simple, as you can see, we havent won a single shit when we were represented with great musics and great artists, so why would we even try to win it now? Doesnt worth it trying ^^, and any Portuguese with no health condition problems can understand the message transmited by the song and why it has been chosed to represent our great contry ^^

  • @goku10mil Tentar vale sempre. Isto é uma tristeza e uma miséria.

  • WHAT. THE. FUCK? at least its better then beiber...

  • @MrAdampicard i like them haha, they tried to say fuck ESC,because they will abandon it the next year

  • @lauritaxful hahahaha

  • BEST ENTRY OF THIS YEAR!!! (not including sweden) and yes i am serious and no i have no connection to Portugal i am from Israel.

  • this is portugal's worst attempt ever

  • E trás o pão e trás o queijo e trás o vinho!!!!! AHAH brutal!!!

  • D: What were they thinking?!

  • and we dont give a fuck about everyone else...

    power to the people :)

    so funny.

  • I'm Portuguese. At first I found this song embarrassing. Now I LOVE it! NOTHING could be THIS BAD BY ACCIDENT...! It's SATIRE. They are dressed 70's style, at the time of the Revolution (notice the carnations). But the message is NOT political - it's NAIVELY OPTIMISTIC! ...And THAT'S the message! This song is a big "Fuck You" to "Cultural Revolutions", nationalism, and to Eurovision itself!! - Eurovision is a stupid JOKE taken seriously only by stupid people - and I LOVE these guys for it!

  • @nakednewsblogs then listen to that "crap" alone DEF lol

  • panaleiros !!!!!

  • @portugirl1000 coitado de ti...

  • This was last years Slovenia.

  • I'm portuguese and I'm proud of this. This is a political/social message, not actually a song. Fuck you portuguese corrupt politicians who left us bankrupt. Fuck you eurovision with your shitty-ass pop songs.

  • @deusexmachina1945 Well i think ireland were better becasue Jedward everyone loves Jedward

  • @deusexmachina1945 You think the eurovision should be a political propaganda center?

  • Comment removed

  • to all those haters.

1 - They are not singers, they are comedians, that's why they sing bad.

2 - This song has a message that only some people will understand.

3 - They are dressed this way because Portugal needs a revolution, and they are using 70's outfits, when Portugal had the 24 April, 1975 revolution.

    4 - You have a problem? then: ' Traz o pão, traz o queijo e traz o vinho '

    now, fuck off ;)

  • @mafioso4ever We don't give a damn about your "revolution". You're not supposed to sing about politics at all in Eurovision, it's one of the rules of the contest. NO POLITICAL MESSAGES! We don't give a fuck.

  • @niknik2203 and i dont give a fuck that you dont give a damn

  • @niknik2203 And clearly no one gives a fuck about you ..

  • @ChristianoOurique I see my comment bothered you enough for you to take the time to reply just to insult me.

Boo hoo. Go cry about it. No one cares about your shitty song, your "revolution" or you.

  • @niknik2203 hey .... Fuck off nik nik no one here wants to see your dumb fuckin thoughts about our portuguese people ! like the guy said at the top .. they arent singers they are comedians. so shhh

  • @ChristianoOurique It's not about your "portugese people". I've got nothing against the Portuguese. But they broke the rules by making a political message. No one watches Eurovision to listen to this.

This is the shitty thing about some of you people in Europe. You take any criticism as a personal attack against you and your people, when it's not. It's just criticism. Calm down.

  • @niknik2203 If you still like Eurovision and think it was never about politics you are either retarded or a campy drama queen (or a retarded campy drama queen more likely) that give us gays a bad name. For crying out loud.

  • @PTphoenixUK Eurovision was never about politics. That's why they made the rule, banning political messages. Duh..

When people watch Eurovision, they do it for a fun night of entertainment. They don't want to learn about the politics of other countires. If you want to talk about a "revolution" there are other public platforms to do so.

Also, what are you mentioning "gays" for? O_O I never said anything about "gays".

  • @niknik2203 Yes it was, not the lyrics but the whole organizing and voting. duh

  • @PTphoenixUK Yes, obviously the voting is political (which sucks), but the lyrics of songs aren't supposed to be. That was my whole point. It's banned.

    How did you miss that?

  • @niknik2203 I didnt, maybe I should have made it more clear. It is a huge hypocrisy the songs are not supposed to be political when all the rest in the contest is nothing but political.

  • @PTphoenixUK I see your point, but if they allowed political songs in Eurovision, then it would only create even more tension between certain countries, and therefore the voting would be even MORE political than it already is.

I think that's why they banned it. They knew it would encourage political voting.

Unfortunately, some people still do it anyway.

  • @mafioso4ever *1974

  • to everyone saying that this song is terrible: listen to the message, then judge.

  • @itscaroleena what message?!?! this song has no message at all. it's just crap!

  • @ricardofreitasl no, it has a politic message.

  • Comment removed

  • @itscaroleena Yeah, but they should've think that not the whole Europe is speaking portuguese

  • @WeMustPlay not whole europe speaks english....so what

  • @itscaroleena It is terrible for being in eurovision, maybe should be better placed on a political meeting.

  • @itscaroleena who cares about message , its fucking eurovision - SING , don't try to leave a message

  • village people on ecstasy coverin the pogues?

  • I'm Portuguese and I agree this isn't the right song to send to Eurovision but we were just being fair. Anyone could enter our contest, so they entered. People voted and they won. It wouldn't be right not to let them represent us. And after understanding their intentions, this is one of the best things ever done. For a few weeks, lots of people in Portugal were inspired to fight for their rights and their dreams. That hasn't happen in a long, long time...

  • Nobody understands about the policy in Portugal or any Country in this context. The problem is, the song is a great crap, Portugal has plenty good songs to put in this competition and they'd chosen this!!! Fado, why not Fado??? Fado is recognized worldwide and it's a little bit similar bad Forró. Fado has a history and the melody is so deeplly amazing.

  • Okaay ???

  • lol We (Portugal) don't take this contest seriously att all, not like all fucking swedes that are now complaining that azerbaijan cheated and they didn't deserv to win...

DUDE this is like the shittiest song contest in europe...

  • I'm Portuguese, and I facepalm every time I watch this. It's really emberassing, and a disgrace to my great country.

  • What the fuck this? Disneyland?

  • So my toybox wasn't thrown out... It was given to Portugal! Now i get it. :)

  • this is the translations to english: strike strike strike strike

  • jesus christ thats weird in a BAD way

  • I love this song <33

  • This song is a fucking joke ,,

  • I dislike this video and I am Portuguese...like most Portuguese people, I never see ESC...I a regret it cause that make it possible for this assholes to represent Portugal ...what an embarrassment...when the news came on tv that this guys had one Portugal's Esc contest, there were thousands of email to the ESC direction to block there entry, I'm not kidding. This DOES NOT represent Portugal...believe me

  • This got more televoting points from Malta.. but Malta came 6th with the judges... Malta came 11th in the semifinal... and with no neighbours!

  • OW, MY EARS

  • Terrible ....

  • PA - TE - TI - CO!!

  • They weren't trying to win. They're the Homens da Luta. All do they is protest against politics in Portugal and all over the world. They try to pass a message all over the world and people ignored it because the music wasn't good enough. How sad.

  • BIGGEST TROLL IN WORLD HISTORY! :D

  • gypsy style

  • pora! o que isso ??

  • Im Portuguese, and i think this music is very inapropriate :x

  • 12 points from Israel - and yes i am serious ! it's not only the song that counts - it's the message as well

  • there's one every year...

  • I'm Portuguese and I'm ashamed of this.

  • Very great song ...it should have won...NOT!

  • I think its good they are expressing what they want on stage, it makes them unique, i do think they could of had better vocals, still, welldone Portugal! - United Kingdom xoxo.

  • +++SWITZERLAND+++

  • THEY HAD MORE VOTE'S THAN THE NETHERLANDS !?!? LOL

  • oh, what are we? five? six?

  • Canta por mim :) Catarina i think was her name and Romania loved her last here. Why Portugal send this ? For? Romania loves Canta por mim ! Peace

  • I'm portuguese and I'm not embaressed.

  • @NotForCowds mutio orgulho no meu país ; )

  • i swear they came lasT?

  • liking it is a crime. they are fukcing homeless noobs making riot in eurovision.

    bad ''costumes'' bad voices.

    bullshit.

  • im portuguese but im embarased portugal have good music fcking morons eurovision

  • this is masterpiece!!!

  • @Theritsunyan someone threw acid in your mind?

  • wtf?

  • is this a song ? i dont know

  • is this a song??

  • Well done portugal!!

  • LYRICS 4:

Come celebrate this and let us sing against reaction

Come celebrate this and let us sing against reaction

Come celebrate this and let us sing against reaction

Come celebrate this and let us sing against reaction

And bring the bread and cheese and wine

And next comes the old man and the new guy

And bring the bread and cheese and wine

And next comes the old man and the new guy

    Struggle continues

  • LYRICS ·: There are those who say "take care" There are those who wish to send you shut up Some people who do not trust on going out There are those who sell you the same air Day or night, the fight is joy And people are moving in the street yelling And bring the bread and cheese and wine And next comes the old man and the new guy And bring the bread and cheese and wine And next comes the old man and the new guy
  • LYRICS 2: And bring the bread and cheese and wine And next comes the old man and the new guy And bring the bread and cheese and wine And the old man goes and comes again and the child Come celebrate this and let us sing against reaction Come celebrate this and let us sing against reaction And bring the bread and cheese and wine And next comes the old man and the new guy And bring the bread and cheese and wine And next comes the old man and the new guy
  • LYRICS 1: The fight is joy Sometimes you are discouraged Sometimes you are given the mistrust Sometimes give a new start Sometimes you give in to despair Day or night, the fight is joy And people are moving in the street yelling It makes no sense when the belt tightened It makes no sense complaining to the floor In a small valley where the air borns Anger is useless for help Day or night, the fight is joy And people are moving in the street yelling

    - In 2008 (Lady of the Sea), 2009 (All the streets of love) and 2010 (There are days like this) Portugal had their best performances!

    But in 2011 . . .

  • @91andRWforever

    Mesmo :D

  • one thing I'd like to point out. Portugal is one of the few, perhaps the only country that got the decency to sing on their mother language. What did the other countries do? they sang in english ( not all, I think) with a bunch of shitty mainstream songs with lights all around. but alright, if you think that this is shit, then go take a look at other entrys from portugal, you'd be surprised...

  • @skatergirl1animator This is one of the things I like in the contest for Eurovision in Portugal. To choose the song representing our country (Portugal), we have a contest like a mini-Eurovision with 10-12 songs and then people vote alongside with judges. And to enter that contest the songs must be in Portuguese, it's part of the rules since a few years back (: I'm very glad they did that!!

  • makes me smile that there are people aren't saying stupid things like ''is this what portugal is like???00 or something like that...

dunno if there are any lyrics in english of this song, but if there are, then consider looking it up! haha

  • Clearly they weren't even trying to win with this song.

  • @niknik2203 We, Portugueses, only try to express our opinion about the country. We aren't satisfied with that, so they decided to write this music in order to express the feelings of portuguese peolple in general. Only that.If we had won, good, if we had'nt won is also good. (Sorry for the mistakes)

  • @niknik2203 I hope you, and the 19 people who liked your comment, die!

  • @niknik2203 On one hand, this is fucking embarrassing and shameful; on the other hand, reading it as a big fuck you to the festival, it's wonderful.

  • They are fun and original. Better than the typical pretty boys and slutty girls with no talent that represent many of the other countries. How can you have a competition that promotes cultural identity and everyone on stage looks and sounds the same?

  • GAY...
