I used to be a strict one novel kind of guy but that changed once I got into my upper division English classes.
Now I am almost always reading at least two novels, multiple short story collections, whatever poetry I can get my hands on and top it all off with some comics.
I'm a creative writing major too, so I'm constantly reading all types of genres. Recently I finished Chick with Plums by Marjane Satrapi, Nine Stories by Salinger and Winnie-the-Pooh (it's always on the top lists of best characterization).
Who are your favorite authors? I'm always looking for something new to read.
By reading Steven Millhauser, it's like you're inviting people to fall in love with you. Why? Because Steven Millhauser is the epitome of fantasticism.
Pity there aren't any YouTube videos that actually, like, feature him.
Bill Bryson, Cormac McCarthy, Michael Palin, Jane Austen, Virginia Woolf, and lately The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, and Never Let Me Go by Kazou Ishiguro, both of which are excellent, but I especially recommend Never Let Me Go. Do you have any good recommendations for reading of late? Good be a good topic for a new video...
Love Woolf. Love McCarthy. Have thoroughly enjoyed Bill Bryson.
I'm reading Never Let Me Go for a class this semester. Very excited for it.
I would recommend George Saunders. Everything I've read of his is incredible. Also if you haven't checked out McSweeney's Quarterly Concern, give it a look. Chock full of great short fiction, and packaged beautifully.
I always recommend One Hundred Years of Solitude to anyone who asks. It's extraordinary.
ummm can i just tell you how obsessed i am with you? i rewinded this like a thousand times and laughed so hard that my neighbor knocked on my door to ask if i could turn down my tv. i dont have a tv... it was just me laughing i said to him. and he looked at me and said "then turn your damn self down". BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! i love you.
Oh dear. That is embarrassing. By Avey Tare I meant Noah Lennox. I quite like both Animal Collective and Panda Bear. Which makes it even more embarrassing. Thank you for the assist! Hope you enjoyed the video regardless!

Love. Noah Lennox.
If Sufjan hadn't already stolen my heart Noah would have it in its entirety. (Bradford Cox is great too, and he's gay, but Lennox is magic.)
What else do you like? (Have we talked about this already?)

I'm so glad that I'm not the only person that read multiple novels at once. I aspire to read a Dave Eggers book one of these days.
